Redhook Pilsner

Redhook Pilsner

Redhook Pilsner is brewed in a traditional Czech style and is the first pilsner Redhook Ale Brewery has ever released. Red Hook Pilsner offers a very soft palate and malt flavors that are offset by a medium dose of distinct Czech hops to bring out its authentic flavors. The refreshing beer finishes with a clean, bright, thirst-quenching quality.

Red Hook Pilsner pairs nicely with barbecued chicken, bratwurst, spicy food, fresh fish, and green salad.

2.8 A nice brew. Love red hook but knew this one would lack the punch like normal.
3.1 Bottle at DØE BeerFest 2013. Clear yellow - white head. Grainy, hay, straw, citrus, fruity hoppy notes, breadish, light sweetness, light malty, ok bitterness.
3.1 Bottle, 5.3%. Faint papery aroma. Clear shiny golden colour. Small white head. Papery flavour at first, but nicely malty. Dusty later with a faint spicy hop note. At first not so good, but after a while quite OK.
2.9 Bottle. Pours clear golden with some sediment and airy white head. Clear aroma of yeast and hops with some malty touches. Sweetish, yeasty and grainy flavour with notes of hops. Slightly rough, grainy aftertaste.
2.9 12 fl. oz. bottle Brewed: 19. Nov 2012 from Bier-Index.de bread, hay, cereal, citrus, herbs, golden, clear, minimal head, white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body, oily feel, slick feel, average carbonation Average Pilsener. Nothing wrong with it, nothing to get too exited.
3.2 Bottle at Ølfestival 2013. Hazy golden coloured with a small white head. Fruity aroma of caramel, bread and hops. Fruity flavour of caramel, bread and hops. Hoppy finish.
3.3 Golden with a white head. Aroma is grains, light earthy hops. Medium bodied. Flavor is lightly zesty hops, earthy, and cereal grains. Decent, drinkable pils.
2.9 355ml bottle. Clear golden colour with small to average, frothy, fading, white head. Slightly grainy, malty aroma, hints of bread, a touch of husk. Taste is dry to bitter hoppy, a floral touch in the middle part, caramel malty basis with a husky touch. Solid in taste and aroma, a bit weak in secondary qualities.
2.9 Bottle. Pours a dark gold colour with a thin white head, light malty aroma with some grass as well, the taste is lightly bitter with malts and hops with a dry finish.
2.8 Clear Yellow, Light and Quickly Dissipating Head. Mellow and nothing to taste. Besides light sweet malty aftertaste there is nothing else going on. Hops? What hops? No bitterness at all... Easy to drink and enjoy on a hot day but is nothing special and forgettable.
2.8 12oz bottle. Straw-yellow color, clear, laces ok but not adhesive. Good aroma, cereal-grains & wet hay. Half-decent taste, medium-light body. I agree with the description for the most part.
3.2 Malty, smooth, with a very light sweetness. Hops are not bitter, put combined with a bit of citrus to create a full and refreshing pilsener with a fairly crisp finish.
3.0 12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is light yeasty and mild spiced. Light bitter and vague spiced. Mellow yeasty and mild wheaty finish.

2.7 12oz bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. Amber with a tight white head; classic grassy aroma; rather sweet and grainy body; with some carmael at the finish that overpowers the rather floral hops.

3.0 Mixed 12-pack at local grocery. Yellow to pale yellow color with a white head. Mild floral/hoppy aroma. Light bitterness to match a light body. A touch of sweetness in the after taste. This is fine but Red Hook has better beers.
2.6 The head is medium, the body yellow. It smells pilsener malty. The taste is malty, less hoppy, a bit to mild. Boring. 10/10/8/8/10/9
2.6 Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Moderate malty and hoppy nice straw aroma. Light bitter flavor. Short light bitter finish. Watery palate. Deasent.
1.8 Doesn’t taste of much. Very pale coloured, slight fizz, not much else to report.
2.4 Clear straw color, no life. Smell of grains, a little malt sweetness. Watery, undistinctive taste. Fizzy, slightly soapy aftertaste. Probably good with spicy food, that’s about the best thing I can say.
2.1 Kind of bitter for a pilsner in my opinion. A little strong also. Interesting to day the least
2.1 light bread, yellow golden, clear, white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, oily feel, flat, light soft finish.
2.4 Light golden coloured and clear. Has a white head, diminishing. Aroma with notes of old grains, a bit anoying, faint hoppy notes. Flavor starts sweet, then some more old grains, finish moderate bitter.
2.7 Bottle. Pours clear, light pale golden with a small, staying, frothy, white head. Aroma has hay, malts, brewing cereal. Light grassy. Medium carbonation, fine dry and light oily mouthfeel. Flavour is oily again, some sweet malts, grass, light mineral. Fairly bitter finish. Okay.
