Redstone Black Raspberry Nectar

Redstone Black Raspberry Nectar

Redstone’s flagship mead! Lovely color & smooth fruitiness make this our most popular mead. Also blends well with porters, stouts, wheat beers, and sour ales!

With the mouth feel and texture of beer and the light taste of a lower alcohol mead this beverage is the very definition of "refreshing".

3.3 Pours reddish-pink with light carbonation. The honey and raspberry aroma is fairly mild. The flavor is mostly of tart raspberry. Smooth and easy drinking, it was refreshing and enjoyable enough.
3.4 Pours a pink color. Aroma is lots of honey and some raspberry. Flavor is stronger on the raspberry, with honey notes in the finish. Has a watery feel. This is refreshing for a mead, nice and crisp.
3.6 (draft @ Avenue Pub - New Orleans, LA) Reddish pour with a thin white head. Very sweet and fruity raspberry aroma with a flavor to match. Lots of sweetness and lots of nice raspberries. Sweet candy finish.
3.1 Swing-top bottle. Pours off-pink. Aroma Primarily of honey, with some Berry notes. Taste is unbalanced sweetness of Honey, wax, and fruit.
3.3 Pours golden with Amber highlights. Mild aroma of hiney and wax. Flavor subdued as well. Light honey, earth and a touch of Berry. On the thin side, a bit watery.
2.7 Tap: Pale pink & orange hybrid, no head or anything. Aroma of mild raspberry candy with lots of sweetness underneath. Flavor has more honey, notes of raspberry, blackberry, & honey. Very candy-like & sweet, a bit light on the fruit robustness. Semi-carbonated it seems like. Decent apartif at best.
4.1 Swing top 750ml bottle, poured into snifter. Has a thin white head that fades almost immediately. Color is a deep red tinged with pink. Aroma is honey, with a vague fruity sweetness. Taste is honey, fruity, and slightly spicy, Mouthfeel is very smooth.
3.3 16oz can 2/6/15 (Courtesy of TerryR)-40° in Snifter-Pours pink with no head. Aroma of honey and slight berry. Taste of berry and honey. This light bodied mead is well balanced and refreshing.
3.5 Sampled at Biggie Wine & Liquor. Pale gold and clear appearance with pink hues and no head. Aroma and flavor of honey, dark fruits and moderate sweetness. Medium body with a smooth feel and mild carbonation. Pretty tasty and interesting.
3.0 On tap at Belmont Station Bier Cafe, pours a clear orange amber with no head. Nose brings out honey and bees wax. Flavour is fairly weak for the style, with honey, bees wax, and light raspberry. Very thin mouthfeel for the style, but the flavours are nice enough. Decent mead.
3.6 "Another that covers up the 8% dangerously well. Sweet and tart berries with a kiss of honey in an oh so refreshing package. Really starting to like these guys..."
3.0 Sweet aroma of honey and berries rises from a light, clear, plum color pour. The palate is sweet raspberry combined with dry honey with a hint of carbonation.
3.5 Draft at John Strongbow’s in Alexandria VA. Poured a clear dark ruby red color without a head at all. Aroma was sweet raspberry juice in dry honey. Flavor was dry, semi-sweet honey notes with a touch of fruit punch notes. Alcohol pretty well masked.
3.5 Pours a pinkish red color. Minimal white head. Nose is very fruity with some sulfur. Taste is semi sweet with a light fruit expression. Tastes much better than it smells.
2.6 Can. Pours a clear light pink with visible carbonation but no head whatsoever. Aroma has a very earthy dry honey note with a bit of plastic and light raspberry underlying. Flavor has lots of dry honey and some bitter raspberry as well as a touch of plastic.
2.9 Bones farm strawberry wine colored pour. And oddly it tastes a little like it. Light carb, lightly sweet sjd do merging a bit off.
5.0 Light nose typical for a mead. Appearance clear light red color. Sweet flavor of honey with raspberry on finish. Light mouthfeel. No funky aftertaste. Doesn’t have an alcohol flavor like the raspberry mead I brewed. I would drink this again.
2.7 can. deep red with minimal head. starts off sweet and fruity, but then a odd cough syrup thing kicks in and ruins everything. i had high hopes for this one, but ended pouring half of it down the drain.
3.8 Poured a pale pink color with aromas if black raspberries, light sweet honey and a touch of apples. Flavors are sparkling cider with some light honey and black raspberries. Wow this is solid could enjoy multiples of this.
3.8 Honey smell and taste. Light berry aftertaste. The mouthfeel was a tad bit watery compared to other meads. It says in the description "the mouth feel and texture of beer", which is somewhat accurate and not bad, but it’s just not something I’m wild about in mead. If you want carbonation done right, see Superstition’s Sparkling Marion Berry mead.
3.2 (Split from a 500 ml can) Pours a clear pink color, with visible carbonation and no head. The raspberry flavor is the predominant flavor notes, with just a touch of honey coming through. If you prefer your meads heavy on fruit and sweetness, you’ll probably enjoy this more then I did.
3.0 Tap at Lyndale tap house. Light red. Fairly dry. Some very light raspberry. Just ok.
3.2 Sweet sticky mess. Arome is berries, honey. The appearance is deep amber, clear. The flavor is super sweet honey, berries, cherries, over the top. The finish is sticky sweet fruity beery, honey. Sticky mouthfeel, thick in body. Overdone.
3.5 Bottle: Pours muted pink-amber, no head. Aroma is peach, strawberry, raspberry. Sweet-tart black raspberry taste, good honey in the body. A ton of berry notes with a soft, warming alcohol. A nice winter sipper.
4.4 First mead in a can. Nice packaging and great to take along for the girlfriend on camping trips or to the lake. A sweet mead that has good fruit flavor and aroma, lacking some honey aroma and flavor that homebrewed meads seem to have more of but a great commercial example of a fruit mead.
3.5 Bottle. Honey, blackberry, and alcohol aroma. Yellow-orange. Strong honey and light berry flavor. Light alcohol finish. Very pleasant.
2.8 Can. Pours dark pink/ fuscia with no head. Very b.eautiful and elegant looking mead! Does not have too much of an aroma- what it does have is honey and a little fruit. Very fruity, tastes like fruit punch actually. Sweet, something is a little funky about it. It has a nice flavor to it but maybe a little too cough-syrupy. An okay mead.
3.3 Bottle @ Redstone. Nice pink pour, good clarity. Sweet candy sugar, honey, and berries. Quite fruity. Kind of simplistic. Flavor is just quite sweet and fruity. Berry, honey, and sugar. A light floral note to it. Just okay, not my favorite of their meads.
3.7 Great, just great!!! Like fresh raspberries and honey. Like carbonation helps with the body.
3.5 Bottle at Aaron’s. Thanks man! Pour is clear pick appearance with no head and good legs. Raspberries, tannic, floral, sweet flowers, honey, blueberry, and spice in the aroma. Taste is sweet fruity, raspberry, strawberry, light peach, apricots, blueberries, honey, and flowers with a touch of heat on the finish. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Tasty.
