3.7 Bottle from Yamaya. A little old. Soft, chocolaty malt, rich, caramel, some berries, a bit oxidized. Cloudy dark brown, low thick head. Lots of cocoa, berries, light roast. Very well balanced, great chocolate malt but not very sweet. Peppery, bitter finish works well. Body is a bit light, but smooth. Nicely done overall.
3.5 Nice porter. Good balance of chocolate and nuts with long aftertaste. Didn’t try to do too much
3.2 Bottle sample at a tasting at Alexey & Raphaela’s place. Thanks Alexey. Black with a frothy tan head. Chocolate, roast, some oxidation, soy sauce, sweet, some dark fruits, medium-bodied, over-carbonated.
3.9 Medium to dark brown. Nice lightly roasted malt caramel and chocolate on the nose and flavor. Smooth and a touch sweet.
3.7 33cl Bottle @ LaBIRRAtorium, Madrid, Spain. Dark brown colour with a thick beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate, red berries, light caramel. Taste is roasted malt, sweet, toffee, cocoa, nuts. Medium to full body, average carbonation.
3.7 500ml bottle pours a dark brown color with a bit of head. Rich caramel flavor. The caramel is a little too sweet for the alcohol.
3.5 Very dark brown, almost bñack with a beige head. Aroma has notes of coffee, some smoke and chocolate. Flavor is slightly bittery, light coffee beans and roasted malts. Light roasty final, coffee notes.
3.7 Keg at BD Norwich, 16/02/17. Light black with a decent khaki cap. Nose is chocolate, spice, earthy berry fruits, charr, roast malts. Taste comprises cocoa powder, toffee, light spice, roast malts, dark fruit rinds, dates, raisins, light plummy twang, faint smoke. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a light earthy hop linger. Solid porter.
3.9 Pours a very dark brown with a medium, lingering beige head. The aroma contains heavier amounts of chocolate and earthy malts, complimented by coffee and cocoa. The taste has plenty of rich chocolate and coffee, along with licorice, earthy malts, minor roasted malts, and a little bit of raisin. Chocolate aftertaste. Medium in body, with a thin, slick texture, and flat in carbonation. This is a good porter to recommend.
3.8 Keg, Brewdog Leicester. Black with a thin head. Rich, strong coffee with earthy smoke. Dark berries with gritty dark chocolate. Some oiliness. Very tasty for its moderate alcohol.

4.0 Aroma: Medium aroma of malts, caramel, chocolate, roasted malts and coffee. Appearance: Turbid/opaque ruby/black beer with a medium brown head. Taste/Palate: Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel and chocolate; ends slightly bitter and dry with roasted malts and coffee. Overall: This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. Not a lot of different flavours; but the flavours that are here, are great. The aroma could have been stronger, but the amazing appearance balances this out overall.
3.8 33cl bottle. Clear dark brown pour with a medium height tan head. Notes of roasted malts, roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, oxidized dark fruit, cherry cores. Medium body and carbonation. A straightforward English porter, excellently executed.
3.4 Shared 500ml bottle. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate and roasted malt. Touch of coffee. Similar taste. Acidic finish. A little thin.
3.7 330ml bottle Black color with dark tan head. Roasted aroma with berry note. Taste is dark chocolate, bitter roasted coffee and berry fruit. Great desert beer.
3.7 Aroma: rich, chocolatey and malty; a little dry; Appearance: pitch black with fluffy offwhite head that lingers; Taste: follows nose; a classic porter with nice depth; Palate: heavy body with long, malty finish; Overall: a nice porter, but not my favorite style. Would not get again.
4.0 Bottle 33cl. poured into a shaker. 3.8 Pours a thick brownish creamy head and goes away slowly, after a while. Has a very dark brown appearance, close to black. Good lacing. Some aromas of cocoa, toffee and nuts. Dry fruit and spiced hops, and a bit of chocolate as well. Strong chocolate flavours, with notes of caramel and some toffee again. A little bit sweet. Roasted malts bring about hints of coffee. Mouthfeel is fullbodied and has a creamy, warming sensation. Mild bitterness, Medium carbonation. Very good and easy to drink porter. Bitterness and sweetness is well balanced.
3.8 LCI from the tap @ DeRat. Nice porter, roasted malt and chocolate with a fresh mouthfeel. Good!
3.8 Toasted dark malts, charcoal, dark roast coffee. Black, tiny, creamy, off-white head. Light bitter. More coffee, dark filter, unsweetened, more dark chocolate, cacao, dry, bitter finish, flat carbonation, medium to full bodied. Nice Porter, quite strong on the coffee. Bottle from HonestBrew, Crystal Palace.
3.8 Darkish color with a quickly dissipated coffee crema head. A lovely toasted smooth flavor with sweet malts at the forefront. Very enjoyable.
4.1 500ml bottle from Liquor King Carlton in Chchch. Darkest brown in color with a large, lasting tan head. The aroma is intense. Roast, charcoal, dark chocolate, blackberry, anise. The flavor is drying and toasty with charcoal notes, 87% cacao, and dark fruit essence. Medium-plus bodied, smooth and creamy yet sharp. Exquisite beer.
4.0 500ml bottle. Pours a deep brown with off white head. Strong nose full of chocolate and roasted Malty flavours. The flavour follows the same with a hint of hop flavour near the end.
3.8 Black pour with a thin foamy light tan cap. Wonderful earthy and semisweet cocoa on the nose with light roast and light caramel. Full and roasty flavor that’s a slight bit of cocoa and light coffee, especially on the finish. It’s a slight bit metallic on the finish but has a lovely cocoa and roast body.
4.3 500 ml bottle. Pours a ruby reddish black with a creamy, resilient beige head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, roast, red berries. Flavor is chocolate, cream coffee, red berries, burnt toast. Finish is toast, roast, red berry, roasted hazelnut. Medium to full body, velvety and creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation.
3.8 500 ml bottle from the Party Source at home. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, bigger chocolate character, earthy hops, not much that is special, but a solid drinking porter that I wouldn’t turn down in the future.
3.9 Bottle at ash’s. Pours black, nose is dark chocolate, toffee, light funk, taste is sweet toffee, chocolate, bitter, coffee, light smoke.
4.0 Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb and Stuu666. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, tar, faint smoke. I’m getting wood, as is everyone else. Chocolate dominates though. Taste is more cocoa, toffee. Like one of those toffee and chocolate bars you get these days. If anything a touch thin, but otherwise very nice.
3.9 Bottle thanks to Stuu666. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - gorgeous milk chocolate. Getting wood! Taste - luscious chocolate and toffee too this time. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy tangy texture and a long dry but elegant finish. Overall - lovely beer.
4.7 Massive chocolate aroma, roasted tempered bitterness. Sweet potentially lactose element. Pleasing rich body. Excellent taste & overall tasty beverage
