3.3 Bottle. Pours a reddish, dark brown with a medium beige head. Aroma is coffee, slight roast and chocolate as well as dark fruit, a bit of lactose. Taste is coffee too, some roast and lactose, wooden notes as well. Light carbonation, quite full.
3.6 Bottle. Dark brown with foamy off-white head. Aroma is light roasted malts, coffee, little nutty, and chocolate. Flavour is light roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, medium sweet, caramel, little nutty, little lactose and a little bitter.
3.6 Clear dark reddish brown with a lasting beige head. Aroma is roasted malt and dusty coffee. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and roasted moderate bitter finish. 290512
3.6 Clear dark brown colour, off-white head. Light roasted aroma, roasted malts, light condensed milk, chocolate. Full malty flavour, lactose, light sweet, chocolate, milk chocolate and light fruitiness. Medium body, but quite full for such a low ABV. Light roasted finish with pronounced milk chocolate / chocolate milk notes. Quite powerful flavours for the 3.5% ABV. Mild Madness. Nice one! (From 75cL bottle @ home. Bottling date 14/05/10)
3.2 I don’t really know how to describe the taste and aroma so i wont. But the aroma itself wasn’t anything that wanted me to actually drink the beer. But after doing so, i was happy that did. Even with 3.5% it doesnt feel too watery and has enough taste. Left me wanting more.
3.7 Bottle. Clear brown pour with an off white head. Roasted malt aromas. A little water, but this is a 3.5%er so that is to be expected. Nice Roasted malt notes. Thin in body, good carbonation, and nice balance. Overall a real nice mild ale with some sweetness from the lactose.
3.3 33 cl bottle from Anton & Anton, Helsinki. Pours dark brown with an off-white head. Roasted aroma with notable lactose. Lactic flavour with roasted malt and some hops. Sweetish-bitter aftertaste.
3.8 Bottle. Very dark brown with a beige foam. Aromas are cream and dark treacle molasses with hazelnut syrup. Herbal and floral with some soapiness. Chocolate with raisins and black tea. Flavours are sweet chocolate milkshake with cola and hints of lemon. Nutty with some oiliness. Cola-like in its carbonation. Nice soapy fruits to finish. Very well put together.
3.4 From bottle labelled "De Molen Melk Mild" at tasting arranged by Sällskapet Malte in Feb 2011. Dark brown, almost black. Thick creamy, lasting foam. Roasted malty aroma, smell of burnt sugar/caramel. Milky sweetness in the after taste along with lasting roasted character. Overall, balanced but somewhat sweet for my preferrence in Mild.
3.8 Bottle: Poured a clear light black color ale with a super huge foamy head with great retention and some very good lacing. Aroma consists of caramelized malt with some light roasted notes and a on of lactose. Taste is quiet different with some good notes of caramel and lightly sweet roasted malt with some lactose. Some black chocolate notes could also be detected. Body was light with super great carbonation. This is a singular beer for sure and I something I could see drinking on a semi-regular basis.
3.3 750ml bottle. Clear darkest brown with medium to huge macropore off-white to beige head. Pungent sour note on the first nose; thereafter a roasty dark malt aroma predominates, but in a way disguised. Taste has cautious roasty, slightly sweet dark malt and chocolate notes, all somewhat hidden or awaiting to be released completely. Doesn’t have the character of being too light or thin: Everything seems to be there, just awaiting to be set free.
3.1 Clear dark brown, good beige head. Mild chocolate roasted malts, milk, some caramel. Pretty thin bodied. Ok.
3.5 0.33l bottle at Schous Kjelleren, Oslo. Black body and never ending cool off white head coming put of the bottle. Big white head when poured into the glass. Aroma: Nuts and milk, and washing detergent. I think thats the lactose..Taste: Toasted sweet bread, yogurt, or a hint og chocolate milk? Interesting sweetness. Very much a chocolate kind. Big on flavour and smoothness for this kind of ABV.
3.5 Bottle from Meny, Oslo City. Pours deep amber with a small light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and milk. Some sweetness, but surprisingly fresh and tasty. Much more flavour than expected at this ABV. Very drinkable and a very nice low ABV beer.
3.2 Bottle, very dark ruby. Malty full bodied beer, some milk, yes, but there is a bitterness underneath that makes sure it does not fall into the caffe latte ditch. Honestly crafter, but I am unable to get really excited over a mild.
3.4 Bottle from Fenaknoken enjoyed at home Pours dark dark brown with red tints, big tanned head. Smells of roasted malts, caramel, hints of coffee and earthy notes. Taste is quite malty with nice sweetness supported, also roasty and thin coffee. Watery, agressive carbonation that really pricks in the mouth. Not much bitterness in the finish. Very drinkable and absolutely a session beer
3.8 Black body and cool off white head. Toasted brioche, yogurt, some faint pear and a bit of spruce. Interesting sweetness. Very much a white chocolate kind. And leaving a bubblegum like sweetness as well, but not cloying in any way, because there is a roasted base tone. Big on flavour and smoothness for this kind of ABV. Fun experimental brew and although I wouldn’t have it every day it certainly works. Tasty stuff. (75cl bottle)
3.4 02/07/2011 Brasserie 4:20 (tap).
2.9 On tap at Håndverkerstuene. Advertised as De Molen Milk Mild. Very dark brown colour, bordering on black with practically no head. First impression of the aroma was vinious, but on subsequent sniffs it’s weak coffee and lactose. Flavour is thin and watery. No suprise there, but weak and thin coffee as well as lactose is is present as well. A decent beer overall considering the ABV.
3.5 330 ml bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, Tampere. Pours a dark brown colour with a small beigeish head. Aroma of dark chocolate, toasted nuts and caramel. Flavour of dark chocolate, toasted malts and nuts, fruits, caramel and lactose. Medium bodied, really smooth mouthfeel and a light, slightly toasted and fruity finish. Very nice for a low ABV beer as this.
3.5 750ml bottle, dark mahogany color, with a rocky beige head, earthy, dusty, light tobaccoish, old leafy hop nose, with some mild dark bitter chocolate, faint molasses, dark dreid fruit accents, with a mild lactic sweetness note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, chocolatey, milkyish, lactose sweetness, cookie dough, organic chocolate milk character, with some mild brownie, chocolate muffin, chocolate pudding flavours, with a flowery leafy tobaccoish hop undertone, and some light burnt toast, burnt fruitcake, molasses backbone, leading towards a chocolatey milkyish, fruity, mild roasty finish.
3.8 330 ml bottle at home in Germany. Donated by Holy and much thanks there for. Pours a very dark brown with a last lacy beige head. Aroma is a fantastic roasty nutty malt, burnt wood, coffee, nougat and caramel. Very nice. Taste not quite as good but still very nice and is roasted malt, cocoa, bitter, some wood grains, nuts, chocolate and caramel. Palate smooth and ends dry. Very nice for a desert beer.
4.0 unexpectedly full of taste. slightly roasted taste, sweet aftertaste. great session ale!
3.3 Pour deep mahogany brown, with a big creamy off-white head. Aroma of some dark fruit, raisin, figs. Also lactose, brown sugar is detected. A rather sweet beer, easy drinking, after a night with plenty of stouts.
3.9 Keg at The Rake as De Molen Melk en Mild. Brown/dark red colour with small creamy beige head. Aroma is malt and dairy. Taste gives a bit of roasted oats and milky creaminess. Very smooth and drinkable. Milk chocolate element. Tastes very brown! Very nice.
4.5 33 cl. bottle @ Delirium Hoppy Loft: A: black with a red hue & tanned head – S: lots of sweet charcoal, touch of coal as well, roasted malts & plenty of lactose powder – T: roasted malt, sweet charcoal, ashes, roasted wood, hint of fruits, cocoa powder, touch of hops, roast & plenty of lactose powder – B: very full especially (but not just for a) 3.5 %, slightly powdery structure like milk powder or trampled charcoal (nice), clearly present carbonation, I had no idea what to expect with this one but whatever this was, I loved it to bad that the excitement slightly wore off by the end because the more I drank it, the slightly more interesting more parts began being somewhat overpowered and an overhaul was made to the other side
3.9 Thanks 77ships for the share. Couleur brun clair, col beige fin.
3.6 Bottle courtesy of the DeMolen crew - as always, many thanks! Interesting beer - very smooth and easy to drink!

2.9 Bottle, as Whole Milk Mild, at Schouskjelleren, Oslo. ABV 3.5%. Brewed for Alex Liberati at Brouwerij de Molen. OG 1037, FG 1011, IBU 22.1. Hops are Premiant and Sladek. Unfiltered. "Each label scratched by a genuine cat." Dark brown colour, large beige head. Intense aroma of pine wood, stale sea water and ashes, possibly infected? The flavour is lactic and smooth, a slight roastiness, just a hint of wood and sea water.
