Revolution Bottom Up Wit

Revolution Bottom Up Wit

Our interpretation of this classic and refreshing Belgian style ale is brewed with organic pilsner and wheat malts from Canada. Freshly ground coriander and Curacao orange peel, along with a special Wit yeast strain, contribute wonderful orange and citrus aromas and a crisp, yet silky, mouthfeel.

3.3 Hazy straw colors liquid. Tall white head and nice lace. Scents of wheat, dry pale malt, circus peanuts, and hint of coriander. I really like the malt scent, but the circus peanuts distract a touch. Lightly sweet with a bit of malt and an strong backdrop of perfumy citrus and pumpkin pie spice. 11/12
3.3 First Revolution had in Chicago sushi restaurant Kai Zan with an Omakase course. The dry bitterness goes wells with Japanese skewers
3.7 Draught at Coda, 3/3/16. Lightly to moderately hazy, burnished gold with a small but fairly well-retained white head atop. Lots of honey from the malt in the nose, with white pepper, hints of bubble gum and low amounts of clove and citrus. While it’s identifiable as a Belgian wit, it has a good maltiness, both sweetness and graininess, not found in many examples. No alcohol or flaw with light coriander on the end. Lovely malt sweetness with soft, dry, creamy wheat flavors and textures. Coriander and black pepper-like spiciness dry out the finish but not excessively so. Lightly fruity and exceedingly low on the clove and heavy breadiness that often ruins this style. As well, it’s very drinkable but not thin and overly watery.
3.4 Pours clear gold into a tumbler. No head. Sweet hay and caramel aromas. Dry with sweet yeast and corriander turning to a dry wheat finish.
3.9 A very nice wit from a can. Nice banana flavor and spice. Pale straw color, with a bright white head on the pour. Revolution is fast becoming one of my favorite breweries.
3.1 Can at ORD Airport, Terminal 5 Chicago before boarding Scandinavian Airlines 946 to Stockholm/Arlanda. A bit hazy golden with a medium white head. Soft and easy to drink with light citrus, wheat and some coriander. The body was on the light side as was the bitterness.
3.5 Slightly hazy, tall and stiff white head. Fruity nose, predominantly yeasty but with peach notes. Full body, rich but refreshing mouthfeel, high carbonation, moderate flavor, long, clean and flavorfull after-taste. Dry but not bone-dry, crisp. Yeasty, citrusy, bready. Expansive example of a wit, very refreshing and flavorful.
3.0 Tap at Brew City in Worcester. Clear gold visible carbonation nice white head. Sweeter not so spicy. Slightly cloying. Minimal aroma.
3.6 On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazed gold with a medium sized white head. Musk and yeast on the nose. Medium bodied, study wheat, musk. Gentle musky finish with wheat and a hint of yeast.
3.5 Light coriander and bready aroma. A hazy yellow amber with a thin white head. Spice, yeast and citrus on the palate. Silky and zesty feeling.
3.4 Can from Foodshow in Shibuya. Drank straight from the can. Juicy fruit bubblegum notes with some light corriander and white pepper. Belgian yeast character. Medium body with some light bitter orange zest and lemon on the finish. Not overly sweet. Dry-ish finish.
3.0 can from Chicago. Regular ol’ Wit style beer. Goes down well, but simple in it’s complexity.
3.3 Hits the style. Can from the brewery in Chicago. Bold spiciness. Pretty decent drinkability for a style I could take or leave, Foaming head.
3.1 Not a bad beer but I don’t really partake in the wit beers. It kind of just tastes like a bad version of Oberon...
3.6 Barnyard funk aroma with orange rind too. Taste is coriander, orange rind, cracked wheat.
3.5 Pours a hazy light golden with a finger of white head and decent lacing. Aroma of wheat, coriander, light citrus and bubble gum dust. Taste is very similar with wheat and coriander along with some orange and a nice breadiness. Mouthfeel is silky with a medium/full body and moderate carbonation. Nice example of the style. Easy drinking and flavorful.
3.4 Draught @ Chigago airport. Rated on 19.08.2015. Aroma is fruity with apricot, tropical fruits and some yeasty notes. Flavour has apricot, yeasty notes and some hops. Also orange and some fruit candy. Mild mineral notes at the end of the glass. A bit floury palate. Quite refreshing after a long flight.
3.8 Pours a cloudy yellow with a white head that lingers with spot lacing. Nose is coriander and yeast. Body is full but lighter that the usual Belgian Wit. Taste is dominated by the yeast with clear spice overtones. The after taste is slightly bitter. 12 oz can Keep the cans coming!.

3.1 Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Coriander and bubblegum, with banana and mild lemony citrus. Not bad.
3.4 Moerlein Lager House, Cincinnati, draft. Smells and tastes a little like pine sol. Not bad. Spicy.
4.1 Canned version. Poured into a glass. A hazy lemony yellow color. Frothy white head that settles to a thick lace. Very fresh aromas and flavor. Bready wheat, orange and spice. Good hop balance with just enough bitterness. Excellent example of a classic style!
3.3 12 oz can pours a cloudy yellow with an white head. Nice spiced aroma, clove, coriander a touch of cinnamon. Tastes of banana. Very smooth and creamy. I was not expecting much here, but this was surprisingly tasty. This goes on the buy again list!
3.5 Pretty powerful bananas on the nose, then a good bit of spice throughout. Like Hoegaarden kicked up a couple notches.
3.0 12oz can. Pours golden with a foamy white head. Aroma is of spice, wheat, and hops. Lots of banana as well. Taste is of spice. Lots of spice. There is also grass, wheat, and a fair amount of hops. Lingering spiciness. Mouthfeel is light, and very carbonated. Body is relatively light and carbonated. Easy to drink, and not too bad.
3.4 Hazy yellow orange pur with a white head that fades down to a film. Strong coriander, clove, banana peel aroma. Taste follows. Soft carbonation.
4.2 Pours golden with medium head. A smooth carbonated taste with a hint of hops. Over good Belgium style brew.
4.6 Pours with a small head, golden color, somewhat flatter than most revolutions I’ve tried. Taste is also lighter than most other revolutions, but flavors of cinnamon and clove undertones makes this a tasty brew that goes down smooth. Aftertaste is sweet and suddle. Great beer for fall/winter time.
3.4 Pours a mostly clear gold with little yeasty chunks. Aroma of spice and sweet fruit. Flavor is wit sour with a rich malt and mild sweetness. Body is medium and satisfying. Finish is also spicy and well balanced.
3.5 Can from Sake Taniguchi (World Beer Market). Light sweet wheaty and yeasty nose, with lemon and coriander, all a bit earthy/dirty. Hazy light straw color. Full-on fruit, very zesty, light spicing, banana, and gentle bitterness in finish. Thin-medium body. Simple and pleasant.
