Revolution Oktoberfest Revolution

Classic German-style Oktoberfest Lager that goes down smooth with a pleasant, toasty, malt flavor. The addition of traditional German Magnum and Hersbruker hops provide a crisp balanced bitterness and spicy/earthy aroma to round out this robust beer.

3.6 12oz can. Pretty darn classic Marzen. I'm sure it is slightly better on tap, in bottles, but can is what I got. Really nails it, amber malt incorporated around Munich malts. Quite enjoyable, balanced.
2.1 No aroma, orange colored brew. Very hoppy more of an IPA than a Marzen. Starts off sort of funky, and bitter. The finish is even more bitter... Not my favorite.
3.2 12 ounce can. Hazy orange, thin fizzy tan head, fair retention. Aroma of caramel, grain, mild hops. Taste is caramel, citrusy hops. Medium bodied.
4.0 Big caramel and rye bread nose from a puffy pour (from a can). Excellent sweet-bitter balance -- both there, neither dominates. Mostly sweet finish. Very much like this one.
3.6 Can. Caramel malt and weedy hay aroma. Amber with moderate head. Moderately sweet caramel malt and moderately bitter weed/hay flavor. Good body. Nice solid Festbier.
2.9 Bottled on Sept. 13, 2017. Coppery golden. Loose eggshell head is quick to subside. Quiet nose of lemon, fennel seed, toasted bread, fallen leaves, and peach. Hints of grape soda, saccharine, wet paper, and alcohol. Tight but prickly carbonation. Flower nectar and peachy esters add layers of vibrancy to the moderately snappy body on entry. A note of wet leaves and a limp papery maltiness quickly sneaks in and hampers the malt structure. Underlying toasted bread struggles to firm things up, though it does impart ample richness. Some perceivable caramelization character as well, which provides a gripping effect while merging with the minerals, though it soon regresses into a basic caramel flavor. Hallertau-derived woody spice and underlying lemon oil brightens things momentarily. Not much malty dynamism to speak of, and certainly no melanoidins. Increasingly noticeable alcohol exacerbates the lack of malt depth by stinging the tongue, and a hint of saccharine and DMS arises late. Nearly cola-like at times, with notes of concord grape. Anticlimactic honeyed tobacco and woody-spicy-lemony hop finish falls off as the saccharine persists. A fairly sterile Festbier that feels like much of its soul has been lost to high levels of filtration. And the malt complexity or refinement just isn’t there. A number of flaws, too, albeit far from overpowering. Disappointing.
3.2 Can, Ann Arbor, MI. Pale amber gold. Malty aroma, slight spice. Sweet. Some clove spice. Honey finish.

3.4 DATE: November 12, 2017... OCCASION: a four-day weekend culminates with my last Oktoberfest of the year... GLASSWARE: personalized mug, a gift from one of my soccer players... this pours a pumpkin orange amber body with steady, lazy effervescence... head disperses from a thick, two-finger froth to a foamy quarter-finger off-white ring... first sensation is apple, earthy hop, light caramel, some toasty warmth, and some odd yeasty esters that make for a unique, if not odd, expectation... sips are heavy in the throat, sweet and swift through the mouth... a medium-bodied, easy-drinking mug-lifter that encourages the next sip... caramel is more prevalent in the taste than the aroma, while the earthiness comes across as pear, sweet apple, and toasted bread... finishes sweeter as the glass drains... malty, mellow, and worthwhile as a seasonal--my first Revolution is a diplomatic, friendly meeting...
2.9 12 oz. can. Amber body. Smells of bread and some caramel malt. Slightly fruity. Corn? Tastes pretty fruity. Bready malt. Kinda has a corn taste as well. Fruity yeast back end. Slick mouthfeel. Medium light. I expected better from Revolution.
3.5 A toasty malt smell, with a herbal/ hoppy note. Clear, maize color with a light tan head. Tastes of heavy sweet malt. The body of this brew is a solid medium, with a bitter finish
3.1 Can: Clear amber with a tall, yellowish-beige head. Caramel, honey aroma. Taste is sweet and light, caramel malt, a bit of fruit and toasted malt. Not bad.....like an Oktoberfest Lite, though.
3.4 Pour from 12oz can. Clear brown brew with small head that immediately dissapates. Aroma of light malt, tart friut, hint of grape jelly. Taste is toasted malt up front with modest tartness towards the end, again with the grape jelly, then finishing with woody malt and a hint of earth. Enjoyable.
3.9 12 oz. canned 08-11-2017. Clear orange-amber with a film of loose bubbles. Big aroma of honey, pear, toasted grain and spicy lemongrass. Flavor is honey, earthy toast, light apple and lemon zest. Near-medium bodied brew has the requisite big maltiness but maintains a delicate, drinkable balance. Medium-high fizz is my only knock on this otherwise excellent take on the venerable style. Thanks party Bob!
3.1 Can. Deep golden/light amber body. Frothy white head, slowly diminishing. Aroma of toasted grain, caramel, light earthiness, bread. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation. Sweet malts to start with yeasty (dough), grainy finish.
3.8 Can into dimpled mug. Half finger head. Aroma of caramel. A smooth first impression. A hint of smoke and great malt backbone. Marzipan. Not a typical Octoberfest but a really good beer.
2.6 Rated on 9-29-2017. (Can Filled 08/04/17) The appearance is a medium sized very fizzy and frothy head that fully diminished, transparent golden body, lively, fast rising carbonation observed, and spotty lacing. The aroma is some fruit, mildly floral, earthy, bready, toasted, caramel, and malt. The flavor presents light bitterness, toffee, mildly floral, fruit, caramel, malt, lightly sweet, and a dry finish. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and also thin for the style. This beer is light bodied. Overall, this beer is not typical for the aroma and taste of this beer style. It has a weak malt aroma and a malt aftertaste. This beer is disappointing given the style. This is a beer that I will not purchase again.
3.7 From a can into a pint glass. Pale orange color medium white head. Marziapan, wheat fields, floral notes. Medium body, sweet, medium carbonation. Nice beer.
2.1 This canned brew from a bottle shop was served at a cool temperature and poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a typically carbonated body semi-transparent yellow orange colored body and a good lacing. The weak aroma was mild malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish malt hop aftertaste. The ok flavor contained notes of hops and malt. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again. Wrong color, aroma and taste for an Oktoberfest. Definitely non-traditional.
3.6 Mostly clear new penny copper with a small white head. The aroma has some subtle caramel and toasted biscuit, as well as some spicy hops. The flavor is similar, with rich but subdued caramel, and unique toasted note.
3.6 Pours clear gold into a shaker. White head with medium retention recedes to nothing. Caramel and toast aromas. Soft with sweet toffee upfront turning to mild bitter twigs in the dry, lasting finish.
3.2 12 oz. can. Enjoyed while not watching the Bears getting skunked again. Noting the use of all German hops (Magnum and Hersbruker). Pours an amber Oktoberfest color, with more of an eggshell colors head. Malty caramel smell of Vienna and crystal malt fits right in with the profile. Taste too is malty. Would be a great reminder of autumn, but it's 81° outside as I'm writing this. I can only console myself that it's better to have here then sweating with a $10 glass of beer at the Oktoberfest celebration down the block. The can is only six weeks old, but it's already going a bit phenolic. Maybe owed to a long lagering. Still, there are some hops there for more of an English earthy taste. I just find myself needing to re-attune to malty fall beers after wrecking myself with hoppy beers all summer.
3.7 12floz can, COD: 08.04.2017, $2 as a single, pint glass. A beer that is light amber in color, has a doughy nose, and medium-bodied with a toasted bread flavor. This works well as a traditional autumn fest beer.
3.1 Good oktoberfest beer. Pretty mellow and not too hoppy. Worth a try for sure
2.9 Clear Amber orange with thin white head Aroma is malt a little off stinky feet notes Flava tho is sweet floral blend of malt and hop Feels light yet silky with lively fizz Finishes dry with malt notes
3.8 Can from Merchants. Aroma is earthy hop, bread, slight fruit, grains, some wheat, good. Appearance is amber, light tan head, clear. Taste is sweet grain, caramel, earthy hop, a little fruity, bready, a knockout. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light crisp carbonation, fruity caramel earthy hop bread aftertaste. Overall, this is very tasty, though very different from traditional Oktoberfest beer.
3.6 12 oz can. Pours a clear copper pour with a medium beige head. Aroma of malt and lager yeast, along with some caramel. Caramel malt flavor with some bready character before a semi sweet finish.
3.8 Can. Anger with one finger head. Medium body with toasted caramel, bread, light nuts. Very well balanced with the hops. It’s not a beer that screams greatness at the onset, but I could drink a ton of this. Extremely well done.
3.4 Backlog entry: I had this one at the brewery. It’s a solid beer, nothing too unusual or stand-out.
4.2 Slightly hazy orange with thin white head. Smells like fruity wet bran. Honey grainy in a medium thick body. Nice mellow bitter finish.
