"This succulent premium ale has a wonderful blend of hops that give spicy and citrus fruit flavours leading into a dried fruit and biscuit malt finish. Twice a gold medal winner at the British Bottlers’ Institute Awards. Rich and malty as well as fruity and spicy. Nutty amber malt and biscuit pale malt together with crystal malt giving toffee/caramel notes. Fuggles and Styrian hops brings masses of tropical fruit and fragrant spiciness. Robust bitterness is balanced with the full body and mouth feel provided by the malt and the satisfyingly complex hoppiness."
A Ridley’s beer, brewed at Greene King since late 2005.

3.5Bottle bought at local Tesco in Eastbourne. Pours out in a deep dark amber-brown colour with low head and flat body. Aroma of barley, cake and butter. Taste of mild roasted barley, cake, biscuits, vanilla, mild hops and light malt. Smooth and enjoyable finish. Solid and good brew.
2.9Bottle at home. Poured a lightly hazy dark brown with a thin almost white head. Aroma is fruity hops, some pine, low to medium malts. Flavour is similar, finish is medium bitter. Not bad but nowt to get excited about.
3.5Appearance: Clear ruby with finger thick ivory head.
Aroma: Raisins, caramel/toffee, bready malts, subtle liquorice and a hint of light treacle.
Taste: Medium bitter and sweetness with low/medium sourness.
Palate: Thick fairly smooth texture, light/medium body, average carbonation, lingering dry bitter, sweet, dried fruit, malty, toffee finish. It reminds me a little of treacle tart.
Comments: Very tasty.
2.9Flaske hos Steven: kveldens siste, og en fin avrunding. Vi synes denne er smaksrik og mykt avrundet, men den har desverre noe litt metallaktig i den lange ettersmaken.

3.2Bottle from somewhere near Kingstanding. Thin, brown. Fairly sweet malt. Some hardened biscuit, some leather, some Giant’s sweat. Average.
2.4Pisses me off that this gets in every Asda in the country. What’s that all about. It’s simple marketing and sales. I hate PR. Stick that in Gabby’s pipe. This is very average bitter with a little sweetness in taste and a little soap in smell.
2.8500ml bottle. Pours a slightly orange brown with minimal head. Nothing very interesting - slightly sweet bitter with nice hoppy after taste.

2.9It’s not bad. Nice rounded taste in the mouth, full bodied, toffee malts. Bit sweet for me. Lonely old men drinking alone in the corner of the pub, roll ups, betting slip, pint of Old Bob. Nice bitter finish.
