Das wirklich herbe Pils – 1156 erließ Kaiser Friedrich I. Barbarossa für die freie Reichsstadt Augsburg ein eigenes Reinheitsgebot. Anlass für uns, ein echt herbes Pils zu brauen, wie es die Augsburger Ratsherren einst schätzten. Mit drei Gaben Aromahopfen.

Clear golden color with large white head. Aroma has caramel, grain, herbs. Taste is malty sweet with long bitter and dry aftertaste. Flavors of grapefruit, herbs, spices and caramel malt.

Birra pils decisamente insolita: all'aspetto è una semplice bionda chiara, ma già la schiuma voluminosa e persistente la accomuna più a stili pale ale. Anche il profumo ha note agrumate importanti, che si ritrovano nel sapore, con un amaro deciso e persistente che non ci aspetterebbe da una semplice pils. Da evitare per chi cerca la classica birra anonima "da pizzeria", assolutamente consigliata a chi preferisce birre con più personalità e apprezza il retrogusto amaro!
500ml bottle, bb 2/22. Pale gold, white head, fine bead. Floral and herbal aroma with hay and a touch of honey. Light bodied. Pretty lean with a punchy herbal bitter finish. Nice jumble of herbal/ floral/ spicy hops at the end. Good.
Clear blond colour, white foam. Nose of grass, grain, hay. A bit herbal. Light sweet, nice bitter finish.
Bottle from Biermarket. Grainy aroma with soft grassy and herbal-ish noble hops. Nice moderate bitterness, hint of minerals. Medium body. Dry-ish, good Pils!
Õlle on selline jook, et iga uus kord kui klaasi või pudeli suule tõstad, siis leiad midagi uut, sõltuvalt tuhandest-miljonist pisiasjast, mis hetke olukorda mõjutavad. Seega piirdun iga õlle juures selle tekstiga.

33cl bottle: BB 12th Jul 2021. Drank at home on 7th Mar 2021. Bright, clean and clear golden pour, fast fading white crown on top. Decent Pils, light aroma of grains and grass, taste also grainy in nature, good balance though, the hops give a slight bitterness to the finish.
Bottled, 500 ml from Valhalla, Zagreb. Clear golden with medium white head. Malty, bit herbal, sweetish, surprisingly bitter finish. Light bodied.

Bottle. Beautiful, clear golden color, with a thick and fine head. Primarily grassy aroma, with a subtle malty note. Dry taste, with a very high bitterness. Earthy, grassy, slightly cracker malty aftertaste. Full body, medium to high carbonation.
Incredibly hoppy, highly bitter, might be OK for Colorado or Vermont b but by no means quaffable by a non-hophead (16.9 oz bottle, Sil'po, Kyiv)

Keg at Brauhaus Riegele, Augsburg in 2017. Clear mid golden with a white head. Aroma of floral hops, lemongrass and straw. Decent malty flavour, and a nice bitter kick at the end.
Bottle. Clear pale gold, big white foam. Lemon and herbal hop aroma, grass, grain. Really pronounced herb bite in the flavour, lemon. Medium body, slightly under-carbonated and slick but bitter and dry finish. I got used to the herb kick, decent hops and drinkability.
