3.9330ml bottle in 2017. Dark brown with an offwhite head. Aroma of big malt, fruit peal, raisins and berries. Nice body with some roasty and sweeter cakey malt notes.
3.5Bottle from the brewery, drunk in Helsinki. Dark Porter color with a huge light brown head. Sweet malty aroma with roast and caramel notes. Taste brings smooth bitterness, light coffee and brown sugar. Clean and tasty, just not overly complex.
3.3Po otwarciu butelki gashing. Po nalaniu piany niemal brak. Piwo brązowe, klarowne. W aromacie karmel, cukier trzcinowy. Podobnie w smaku. Słodko. Pełnią średnia.
2.90,33l Flasche. Dunkelbraunes Bier, luftiger Schaum. Trockenobst und Malz. Etwas Schokolade. Antrunk recht süss. Rosinen in Rum. Dann Schokolade.
3.6Achetée en Allemagne. Bouteille de 66cl. Bière très foncée mais pas vraiment noire. Nez malté, alcool. Bouche alcoolisée et sèche. Maltée. Pas trop mal.
3.7Tight creamy tan head left a decent cover on a rich dark chocolate coloured still body.
Raisin, malt, sherry, chocolate & dark berry aroma.
Medium bodied with a flight tingle on the front followed by silky smooth back & clean aft.
Malt, dark chocolate, demerara, sweet plum & caramel tastes with a nice tangy finish.
3.6Bottle picked up from REAL, Freising and consumed at home Attenkirchen, Wednesday 8th May 2019 having just eaten a very nice Cottage Pie and listening to Marc Riley on 6 Music. Pours dark brown with an off white head. SInitially showing some sweetness with malts, following this caramel and dried fruit showing. Good beer, soft in the mouth, good carbonation, chocolate also here. Very nice beer.
3.5OK. Don’t buy again. Sweet plum front end. Has a bitter back end note.
3.4Prijemne tmave pivko, kupene v Nemecku pri Salzburg tripe.
3.533cl thanks to @rauchbierlover. Pours dark brown almost black with beige head. Aroma has roasted malt and plum. Taste is well balanced with notes of chocolate, plums and nice bitter finish. Everything right in it.
4.0Color is deep dark, small white foam head. Aroma is strong, good malt notes and a little bit roasted sugar notes. Taste is soft, sweet and bitter. Drinkable, tasty.
3.2Dunkelbraun, cremige Krone. Malz, Waldfrucht, Sherry in der Nase. Angenehm stimmiger Körper.
3.7Strong beer, belgian yeast flavours. All around good, but the balance with the malt is just a little too weak. D&S dresden
3.7Bottle (33 cl) from Systembolaget. CLear chestnut, medium beige head. Nutty, caramelly, burnt sugar, some roasted notes. Medium to full bodied, medium carbonation. Semi dry, low bitterness.
4.2It is a black thick and full bock with a delicious aroma of chocolate, nuts and hardroasted malt. The taste is leather, wood, dark chocolate, nuts and dark dried fruits (raisins and dates). The foam is moderate, but wakes up easily when the glass is worn. The carboation is soft, but it only contributes to a greater taste experience of the aforementioned ingredients. It is of course malty as a double bock should be, and I would admit that it might also be more dominated by malt than a double bock has to be. The hoppy bitterness is tender, but present, so it is the malnutrition that prevails in the taste. I would definitely recommend this double bock to everyone else.
3.6A very malty smell, chocolate and roasted malt.
The head is beige and creamy, is it rather small with a normal duration. The body is nearly black.
A strong malty taste, milk chocolate. A medium strong body, creamy with a normal carbonation.
3.2Bottle. Darkest red chestnut, low offwhite head. Oxidized leather and wood, nuts, rose hip. Medium full mellow body. Creamy mellow mouthfeel. Cherry wood, dark chocolate cake, roast, copper, dry finish, algae retronasal. Sticky oxidized sweetness. Ok, not worth its premium price though.
3.0Bottle. Opaque brown color with beige head. Aroma is molasses, a bit oxidized, iron, chocolate. Taste is molasses, chocolate, a touch iron, dry mineralic finish. Mineralic chalkyish mouthfeel with low carbonation. Alright.
3.80.66 bottle. Pours in dark ruby colour with small off white head. Aroma of toasted almonds, coffee, honey. Medium sweet, very low bitter. Medium body, long lasting coffee aftertaste.
4.44,5/4,3
3.9Bottle. Moderate to heavy toasted cereal and toffee for the malt, light cooked orange for the hops, light to moderate dough for the yeast, with sherry, raisin and brown sugar in the background. Head is small, frothy, light beige, with spotty lacing and good legs, and is mostly lasting. Color is clear very dark brown. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly acidic and bitter. Palate is medium to full, syrupy, with a soft to lively carbonation. Super tasty and feeling Doppelbock.
3.4Dark brown colour with off white/light brown foam. Initially very smooth, slightly sweet but then an alcohol taste “bites” which makes the first tasting unexpected and slightly unpleasant. A complex beer that needs to be approached and appreciated slowly.
3.3330 ml bottle. (Riegele Biermanufaktur) Augsburg, Germany. Enjoyed on Mar 4 2018.
Dark brown color with a small light tan head.
Sweet malt, nuts, bitterness, dark fruits, alcohol and metallic maltiness.
3.5Botella. Deep dark brown colour, light brown like creamish head. Sweet dark malty spiced roastish caramel aroma with chocolate and bread. Roasty like malty sweet caramel chocolate like flavour, bread, bitter sweet.
3.4Dark brown. Aroma is some roast caramel toffee syrup butter a whiff of herbs. Well rounded. Taste is heavy sweet syrup with roasty bitterness. Low carbonation oily on the tongue. Not too heavy. Quite balanced. I like it more with more roast texture and dried fruit. Still pretty nice.
3.4Intransparent deep brown colour. Minimal head. Aroma: lots of raisins and nuts, dates, figs, toasted malts, port wine. Fine. Medium to full body. Sweet yet complex malty richness on tongue. Same nuances as with aroma. Balancing bitterness at finish. Delicious doppelbock. A perfect slow sipper.
