Our take on a Belgian Style Tripel Ale, brewed with spices and fermented with a Trappist yeast strain which lends hints of vanilla and creates a variety of complex flavors.

2.5Thick and lasting white head.
Cloudy light golden color.
Spicy aroma with hints of cherries in chocolate.
Sweet caramel taste with fine bitterness.
3.0Bottle from Beers of the World. Nice spicy aroma with some Belgian yeast notes.
3.6Rich and big with coffee, vanilla and some wooden notes such as oak. Dry with a little sweetness.
4.0Somewhat similar to golden monkey. Sweet/bitter and 10% abv, I like a beer that feels like you're drinking alcohol.
3.712oz bottle. Light gritty malt sweetness but not typical American sweet. Alcohol heft through out. Low hop and a sweet, slightly heavy mouthfeel.
3.6malty, yeasty aromas with hints of pepper, banana/clove. golden in color with nice head. taste is malty with notes of raison, plum, and hints banana/clove.
3.5From a 12 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy gold with an off white head. Aroma of tropical fruits and flowers. Flavors of banana and cardamom. ABV is pretty well hidden.
3.4Poured from bottle golden chestnut with an off white head. Aromas of caramel malt spice and grain. Taste is sweet mild spice caramel malt and a nice alcohol finish.
3.412oz bottle. Pours golden brown with an off white head. Aroma is caramel, fruity esters, clove. Flavor is caramel, fruity esters, toffee, Belgian yeast character. This is a bit sweet. The 10% abv is well hidden.
3.5Draft at HopsScotch, Jersey City. Clear gold with a creamy white head. Aroma of banana, wheat, spice, and possibly some faint citrus notes. Taste is banana, Belgian yeast, clove, mild vanilla, and spice. Creamy texture. Has a warming finish. Good.
4.4A great tripel. Heavy on the alcohol, but it’s hidden well enough that it doen’t feel like 10% alcohol. Nice and dry at the end, it’s not overly sweet, which I like. A great local brew.
3.7Stumbled on in a Westchester gas station beer cave. Poured from a bottle. Amber in the glass. Hefty fine bubbled head. Syrupy pour and a lot of carbonation. Nose is sweet caramel. Palate is round sweet, sticky, up front. Grains carry a little weight to help with balance. Pretty good for gas station beer.
3.4Hazy gold little rimming beige head; aroma mildly grainy and yeasty; flava is yeasty sweet with notes of honey and cherry; feels medium bodied wth lively fizz; finishses tangy sweet some notes of orange
3.2Bottle from HO1K. Pours a hazy amber with a thin white ring. Strong aroma of tartness, yeast, and bread. Medium carbonation. Clingy, lightly oily texture. Nice mouth feel. Taste is mostly mildly tart yeast with a somewhat dry finish. Kind of one dimentional. Would be better if the flavor was more complex. Hides the alcohol well.
4.1Poured from the tap at The Brick House in Willow Grove PA. The appearance is a reddish golden color with a small white head. The aroma is hops, malt and some vanilla. The flavor is malt driven and has some fruit notes tossed in.
4.4This is one of the single best beers I’ve had in quite some time. It’s got a beautiful color, a rich taste, and a smooth finish for a beer that’s 10% abv. I love this beer.
3.5Bottle from Whole Foods Lenox Hill. Nice amber body with thin white head. Nose is floral, grapefruit and spices. Taste is oranges, amber, caramel. Good stuff. Nice creamy and fruity. Sharp finish. Good stuff.
3.5I poured it from the bottle into a pint glass. It pours a cloudy golden color with a white head and some lacing. The aroma was underwhelming. It was alcohol and spice. The taste was yeast, banana, clove, and booze. There was a nice carbonation with a slight alcohol burn. The alcohol was noticeable but still hidden for the actual content. This was pretty good.
4.0Appearance: Golden Amber. Aroma: Lots of Phenolic Aroma. Clove, Banana, Star Anise, Alcohol. Taste: Phenolic, Spice, Clove, Very Smooth, Marshmallow Mouth feel and Aftertaste.
3.612 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy gold. Smells strongly of yeast and spice. Taste is a burst full of flavor (at first earthy, malty, and yeasty with a hint of vanilla) that gradually ripens into strong spice and alcohol. Finish is very boozy.
3.2Poured a golden color with a white head. Aroma was of light caramel, yeast and booze. Flavor similar, pretty standard American tripel.
3.5Pours chestnut brown body with creamy white head. Yeasty biscuit, citrus peels, honey, and coriander aroma. Spicy taste of cloves, vanilla, and a slightly sweet fruitiness. Full slick feel. Smooth finish with long drying backend.
3.412 oz. bottle from old notes. Pours a hazy amber/copper color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma had nice caramel, fruit, yeast, and honey. The flavor had more sweet honey, yeast, a splash of fruit, thin body for a 10% tripel, glad I got to try this, but there are many better examples.
3.5Bottle from Ron. Bright light orange. Minimal head or lacing. Spicy fruity nose, with bananas and yeasty notes. Fruity palate, sticky, good, nice consistency. A bit zingy from the carbonation. A bit of hops takes away the sweet at the end. I really enjoyed.
3.5Murky , golden/orange color . Aroma of Belgian yeast , spices , banana. Sweet , yeasty taste . Rather dry finish . Not bad overall , but too sweet for tripel .
4.1Poured a cloudy light gold color with faint orange shading like peach juice, with a medium white head that reduces efficiently.
Lovely nose of vanilla, pie spices, apples, raisins with a slight medicinal note. The latter might be a subtle showing of the 10 percent ABV, which is otherwise hidden until near the finish.
Like its Belgian cousins, this evolves in the glass (as well as in the cellar), and is worth the time spent. Initial carbonation can be assertive, but reduces to a nice tingling. Palate hits banana, candy sugar and green grapes.
Medium body with a mildly dry finish, and that alcohol brings a pleasant warmth.
This is a sipper, and provides a very credible American homage to its Belgian forebears. I’ve sampled it several times over a year, and it does seem to be improving with age.
2.912 oz bottle into a Porter Bar .
Murky, golden body with a decent head.
This is rather spicy tripel with overly coarse carbonation.
More bitter than tart and more tat than sweet. Fairly complex flavor includes some yeast and bready malts.
2.3Golden hazy pour with nice white head which lasted. aroma of banana, clove, golden syrup and vanilla. Very sweet smell.....Extremely sweet taste. Banana Clove, a bit of autumn spice maybe, but too sweet. Palate is deep medium and nice for the style overall this one just was tough to drink for me.
