Brewed from all malt, with no corn adjunct, Rock River offers a full, rich mouthfeel, balanced by plenty of fresh-tasting Continental hop aroma, satisfying complex, yet easy to enjoy.

2.8Lemon yellow in color... Ahhh to heck with it... Maybe I’m just not feeling it but it’s pretty average but at least it’s drinkable and not offensive.
2.8golden pour with a two finger white head. standard american lager, lacking in sulfer compounds. i love the use of continetal hops. this is a good beer
2.4Presentation: This is one of six beers from an eighteen pack labeled Beer of America, Historical Collection. The 18 pack also came with a nice book titled, The History of Beer in America. It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a Pilsener glass. There appears to be no freshness date on the bottle.
Appearance: It has a light foamy white head that fades quickly to a thin wispy covering and then down to nothing. There is not much in the way of lacing, just a few slick spots at the top of the glass. The body has a bright golden color with very good clarity and some visible carbonation.
Smell: The aroma is light and has hints of grassy hops, light husky grain and cooked vegetables.
Taste/Palate: Its flavor has a fairly dry grainy, corn and husky malt taste with some grassy hops. The finish is dry with mild bitterness and acidity as well as an odd salty mineral like thing. The body is light to medium with a light easy drinking texture and light fizzy carbonation.
Notes: This is nothing more than your basic American pale light colored lager. It is drinkable but boring and I have noticed that all the beers in this mixed 18 pack are oddly similar to each other. The best part of this 18 pack is the book that came with it.
2.2Gift from my Wisconsin hook up. Thanks Jamie. Gold pour with hints of grass in the aroma. Some sweet malt with bitter finish.
2.4I had this a long time ago, as it’s in my records, but I didn’t take down good tasting notes!
2.5pours a clear golden color, with very light in color, it has a small head that disappears quickly. The aroma is corny, with some malty smells, the taste is very light, it is more corny and at the end it leaves a sweet taste. overall its alright.
2.5Pale clear yellow, a dirty white foam. Aroma is sweet cereal, seems very corny despite the claims otherwise, grassy, dull and grainy. Taste is better, sweet cereal, grass, hay, simple and sweet.
2.012oz bottle acquired in trade with daknole (thanks!). Poured a medium yellow/golden color with a small sized white head. Aromas of graininess, and corny. Tastes of the same graininess, corny, and a little sweet. Hey, its a Pale Lager!
2.3Just an average pale lager. I would drink it again if offered, but I will probably never buy it again.
1.9Thanks to hopdog. Pours a translucent golden with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of sweet corn, light citrus and grass. Flavor of the same. Decent, a little sweet and not offensive.
2.312 ounce bottle in tulip. Golden with ring and a little lace. Sweet honey grassy detergent aroma. Very sweet honey with lager grassiness and cloying finish. Still, flavor is better than aroma. Medium body. Could be worse with rice or corn.
1.6Bottle, part of wooden gift pack. Pours a golden yellow. Smells like an unfinished 2 x 4. Smells like raw blonde wood. Sticky mouthfeel. Mostly sweet, soaked sprouted grain flavors. I feel like I’m drinking Home depot: blonde wood, wood glue, PVC, and a light varnish.
2.26-6-08. Bottle. Poured gold with a small white head. Smells of corn, malt, and grain. Tasted malty and corn-ish. Very little aftertaste. Not bad.
2.4Clear light gold pour with no head. Banana nut aroma. Very thin bodied even for a lager. Not much for flavor. A slight hint of banana bread but very slight at that and then it fades into nothing.
2.6Gold in color with a small white head. Aroma is of light malt, corn , and grain. Taste is of light malt and lots of grain.
2.012 oz bottle from a sampler at Publix. Poured a clear gold color with a thin white head. The aroma was malt and bread. The flavor was grainy. This was better than the average pale lager, but not great.
2.1Bottle: Shared by goldtwins. Pale golden with a white ring of head. Sweet aroma. Corn, papery pale malt. Vacant flavor with papery stale light malt and nearly no bitterness. Very boring.
2.9You know, this one was probably the best of the Minhas brewing mix pack. Pours a clear yellow gold with a nose of malt, bread, and grain. No extravagant adjuncts detected. Respectable lager. Nice, but not my favorite beer or style.
2.4Poured a clear gold with a small white head. Grainy sweet malt with DMS. Light malt flavor. Grainy with a fruity finish. What the hell is going on over there in Monroe. They are obviously a marketing company with some packets of yeast.
2.212 oz bottle shared by Goldtwins. Pours a pale blond thin head. Aroma is corny dms, corn grits, cream of wheat and other wierd breakfast cereal types- and a slight pickle quality which was strange. Grassy and herbal hops throughout but very subtle, corn and a slight off astringent piss.
2.0Smell is malts, corn, grain, weak, some sweetness, and watery. The look is a golden clear and not very much of its white head. The taste is sweet corn, grains, water, and malts.
1.1This bottle was brewed & bottled in Rochester and tasted like the mighty Genesee River. Pass on this watery, pale, bitter tasting lager.
2.7Well for an unknown lager it was a bit of a surprise. Yellow pour, white head. Aroma is sweet, grainy and malty. Flavor is pretty smooth with some sweetness and light malts. Not a great beer, but very easy to drink.
2.3tastes kinda of funky. slight corn adjuncts sweetness at the end. malty with hardly any hop.
2.4Pours a pale yellow with a thin white head. Little aroma some malt and a little bitterness. Smooth crisp lager taste, malt and a bit of hop bitterness. Not as bad as I thought it would be, but not something I would drink again.
1.6This beer pours a very light straw yellow with a little creamy white head. The aroma is slightly corn. There is not much flavor to write of. This would be a good beer to chug after mowing the lawn. Or maybe give to your friends that like their beer in frosty mugs on the rocks.
2.3Pours a clear straw color with small white head. Pretty much a standard pale lager. Nothing to get excited about but if pale lagers is your thing then you’d probably like this one.
2.5bottle, half time liquor tallahassee. clear yellow pour. aroma is pleasing grain and a little honey. taste is sweet grain, cereal, little honey and some light hops in the finish. a simple but decent beer.
1.8HoHum...another pale lager. Nothing to distinguish this from the pack. Corn aroma with a malty corn taste. Little hops noted that would have made it interesting.
2.2Bottle. Gee, what a surprise ... yellow, starchy, topped with a poofy white. The aroma is fruity, maybe estery. The drink introduces some grassy aspects, a hint of some leafy hoppiness, mustiness. This is a beer that kind of illuminates the difference between an all-malt, full flavored lager versus an adjunct laden macrolager, but unfortunately isn’t all that well balanced. Good, but fails to meet the great level. (#3377, 4/3/2008)
