3.4S: Fruity IPA upfront followed by scent of coffee beans
A: Somewhere between amber and Brown. With a tan head that will bust out of your can!
T: Hint of Grapefruit & hops initially followed by the distinct taste of Cold brewed bitter coffee
P: left behind is the bitter taste of coffee with a malty aftertaste that lingers until your next sip.
O: Leaves you wanting another to decide if you like it. Much stronger than the taste suggest. This IPA improves as you drink it.
4.5Very nice IPA with a very strong coffee taste. I would buy this frequently if I could find it anywhere near me.
3.1On tap @Ølfred - Aarhus Streetfood.
Pours deep brown with small white head.
Scent: Bitterness, pine, coffee.
Taste: Coffee bitter.
Texture: Oily to creamy, low carbonation.
3.7Lovely amber pour w/ a thin tan head & good lacing. Aroma is primarily coffee w/ a slight hint of citrus hops. The taste is all coffee upfront followed by a slight hop bitterness in the finish. It’s tasty & actually goes down easy for an IPA. Very nice!!
3.7Aroma is roasted malts, rye and bitter coffee grind. Taste is caramel, rye spices, and very bitter and earthy hops. Good depth but definitely a bitter punch.
4.1Tuesday, October 09, 2018 6:00 PM
1 Pint 6 Fl Oz/650 ml poured to wine glass
Sight: Deep light brown to amber, appears clear , small to no foam
Smell: strong aroma of green coffee beans, hoppy and malty-strong smell of grains
Taste: Very good, medium bitterness, some sweetness
Feel: Medium-full body, sticky, medium carbonation, good finish follow through, strong bitter aftertaste
Overall: Very good beer, ok to repeat, not to look for
4.4Colore ambrato, schiuma poco persistente. Abbastanza amara, alcol ben bilanciato. Nel complesso una buona birra!
Bevuta in lattina.
Wunderbar.
2.512 oz can from Total Wine and More in Short Pump, VA This is a disappointment. The ale poured a cloudy amber color with huge frothy head lacing. You do detect some coffee on the nose. The taste has more coffee and some tropical fruit. The light body ale has average carbonation. This combination of coffee and bittering hops are not appealing. You can see why people do not add lemon or grapefruit to their coffee.
3.412 oz single can from Molly's Spirits. Clear copper colored appearance with a lingering beige head. Aroma of coffee, piney hops and toasted malt, Similar flavor, coffee-forward with moderate bitterness and mild sweetness. Medium body with a smooth finish. Interesting.
3.5Very smooth combo of elements. its blended perfectly, neither hop or coffee over power each other. provides a smooth body, and fine carb. I dig this alot
3.7Canned, brown color with tan foam, aroma of piney coffee, creamy citrus flavor of coffee, good
3.6Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of caramel, roasted, bread and nutty, light pine for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with coffee and wood in the background. Head is large, frothy, light beige, with excellent lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is hazy medium brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, slick, with a soft to lively carbonation. Overall a good drinking beer, but a coffee IPA is not my style.
GROWLER Barcelona.
3.216 oz draft pours a light brown color with a small white head. Aromas of coffee, roasted malt, light hops. Medium bodied, coffee dominant, and interesting beer
3.8It smells fruity, grapefruit, light bitter. The head is small, beige and foamy, it disappears rather fast. The body is brown and cloudy.
A quite bitter taste, malty, like a mixture of an IPA and a stout. The body is rather strong, creamy and oily with a normal carbonation.
4.1Intense aroma of chocolate, coffee, almonds & nuts. Clear reddish brown with a long lasting tanned head. The taste confuses me with the intense notes bitter notes of coffee & hops. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation & a dry finish.
4.112oz can from Beerstore Barcelona. At Niamey's craft beer tasting.
2.2The aroma is full of cold brewed coffee, malt, hops and roasted coffee. The color is reminiscent of dark caramel and the head is off white and soap-y. The taste is full of roasted coffee beans and malt. Not good!
3.9Marmalade orange messy biege head. Treacle sweet almost like a scotch ale didn't get the coffee at first but came through in the finish as it went down big bottle from booths Windermere. Long live Booth's 😁
3.4Colore ambrato, schiuma media compatta poco persistente. Carbonatura sostenuta.
3.9Bottled. Wow! Super tasty and aromatic coffee ipa. Coffee and spicy in aroma. Coffee and spicy in taste plus good hops, nice malt back, bitter and malty finish. Overall lovely!
1.812 oz. can. Pours an opaque amber color with almost no head. Dank aroma of pine hops. Medium body. Strong coffee flavor with just a touch of hops. Finish is dry, like a coffee. To me, this is more of a coffee ale rather than an IPA. Not a fan.
4.3Bottle @ Hemet, CA trip to visit family always find new micros to rate and taste.
3.012oz bottle. Quite coffee forward, way more of a coffee beer than an IPA. Unfiltered brown-burgundy body. Foamy beige head. An OK beer, but I was expecting more hop tone or IPA sensibility. The coffee tone dominates, and grows one-dimensional and tiresome. Not poorly made, but not one I would buy again either.
3.5Cans sent by Rogue for review. Beer comes out a little darker, with the kind of orangey color of some older IPA brands. This has 82 IBU in the hops department, and its bitterness and citrus is right up my nose, like any good Northwestern hop style. At first, the taste is deceptively like almost any other IPA. But within a few seconds there is a thread of cold coffee coming in. The coffee impression stays pretty strong all the way through the rest of the beer. At 7.5% abv, the alcohol is a little higher than normal and that could be hazardous, because this goes down very quickly. This would be one of those coffee beers that might wake you up and put you right back to sleep.
3.4Aroma of toffee, caramel, watered down coffee, and tea. Foggy brown pour with dead head upon the glass. A lot more coffee on the palate than I normally like. Otherwise a flat afterbite. Some bitterness but no alcohol burn. Can. Aroma is quite nice.
3.8Unclear, amber colored, medium frothy off white head. Aroma is of coffee, caramel, some toffee, moderate citrus and floral hops. Taste is medium sweet malt, caramel, toffee, coffee, medium citrus, fruity and floral hops, medium bitterness, dry finish. Medium bodied, average carbonation, oily.
3.6Thick creamy off white head stayed well on a hazy reddish oak coloured still body.
Bitter espresso aroma.
Medium bodied, sharp & tingly on the palate with fine carbonation & clean back.
IPA tastes to the fore with bitter citrus, pith & pine followed by a massive burst of coffee & really long bitter citrus finish.
Similar to a hoppy Porter- Very drinkable!
