Rogue Farms Fresh Roast Ale

Rogue Farms Fresh Roast Ale

Rogue Fresh Roast is made with Rogue Farms barley fresh roasted at the brewery. The barley is taken directly out of the roaster and rushed 273 feet over to the brew kettle. We don’t think it gets much fresher than that, and we know you’ll taste the difference.

4.1 From cervezasespeciales. In Teku glass. Playing Avernum 2. Typical roasted notes of brown ale very well implemented, with superb drinkability and low alcohol effects
3.7 Good coffee scent and taste. A little roasted malt. Light bitterness that fills the mouth forever. Good beer. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings
3.7 Bottle from SB. Black color with tanned head. Aroma has caramel, coffee, malt, dates. Taste is malty sweet with quite long aftertaste. Flavors of caramel, vanilla, coffee, dark malt.
3.8 Flaska från SB. Tack Daniel!
Middels fylde. Uten bitterhet. Smaker kaffe, ristet brød, nøtter og noe mer salt lakris. Middels lang.
2.8 Bottle from Systembolaget. One of those beers you know is a decent made beer but that I just dont particuarly like. It is very clingy and that doesnt get better the more you drink. Qutie smokey and of course heavily roasted. Coffee/ choclate. Stouty flavours.

3.7 @ Stordirren 18-3-17: småtrevlig med fin ton av kaffe och en mjuk eftersmak.
3.8 Pours black with a moderate tan head. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, vanilla, lactose, brown sugar. Taste is roasted and chocolatey with light vanilla and nutty notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
3.7 Bottle 35,5 cl from Systembolaget. Black with a dark brown thin head. Dark malts, roasty, toasty, campfire. Light sweetness, some bitterness, a bit smoky. Medium/full body, low carbonation, malty smoky finish.
4.3 Roasted marshmallows with hints of charcoal. The taste is even more roasty with lots of campfire and hints of both coffe and chocolate.
3.1 Black colour, medium off white head that fades to a thin lager. Good lace. Aroma of burnt wood, raisins, chocolate, coconut. Medium to light body, thin palate, good carbonation. Taste of wood, ginger, pepper. Strange. Correct.
4.0 DATE: March 21, 2018... OCCASION: snow day #7, still snowing strong... GLASSWARE: Orioles mug... pours a velvet-brown body, about 90% opaque,, which allows the eye to glimpse steady streams of thin bubbles moving upward... the head thickens immediately to a doughy, oatmeal brown two-fingered riser whose resistance to gravity is admirable... I am not 273 feet from the glass, but all the same, strong roasted malts arrest the nostril, much as a rich French roast should... soft chocolate, marshmallow, lactic milkiness, sharp tannins, and trace elements of butterscotch, peat and yeast can be detected, in that order... together, a formidable alliance that invites the first sip... a smooth, creamy introduction is backed by a rugged, textured finish--long and intense, belying its 5.7% ABV... its head retention aids the creaminess early, providing a n extra dimension of medium-bodied experience.... a cola's effervescence is delayed by its stronger elements... its finish is espresso-sweet, piqued by the roasted malts and chocolate/lactic acids, with the trademark brown ale cola making a late appearance... the subtler flavors are subdued; the impact and enjoyment of this is its holy offspring of two great beverages--both suitable for the weather right now... haven't had a Rogue in a bit, but this one slipped into a mix twelve at County Liquors, and I am glad that it did--price gouging aside, the Rogues made a tasty treat here...
3.8 Bottle from Systembolaget. Malty, roasted and toasted smell. Similar taste. More roasted then expected. Allot of flavour. I like it, tasty and very drinkable.
2.5 Smells like poop, and doesn't taste that much. 2,5/5
3.4 Bottle from systembolaget. Pours a dark colour beer with a medium head. Roasted malt with notes of coffee and fruits. Dry finish.
3.2 Dark brown color, small brown head. Some sediments. Aromas of caramel, roasted malt, coconut and chocolate. Roasted taste with coffee, malt, cacao and 'Julmust'.
3.3 355ml bottle from Systembolaget. Stout like pour, very dark with a dense beige head, good lacing. Earthy and nutty aroma with a nice coffee toast. Light bodied, watery and dry mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Roasted taste, chocolate, caramel, earthy and nutty. Long bittersweet and dry finish.
3.3 Aroma is nice and deep malty with a light roasted touch and a slight touch of coffee. Taste is round and balanced. A little too thin and low in flavors in general, but well made with a smooth and rounded roasted malty approach. It falls outside my comfort zone when it comes to hops, it's a little too laidback, but I guees that I am also destroyed by years of hop abuse? Well made and pleasant brown ale
3.9 Bottle (355 ml) from Systembolaget. Dark brown, medium beige head. Nutty and roaste dmalt aroma with notes of coffee. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Dry, medium bitterness. Fresh and nice.

3.1 Deep dark roasty brown hue under a thin light beige head. Earthy perfumey malt aroma that’s a bit bready and roasty. Smooth deep roasty flavor that’s dark malty and bready and lightly acrid. Just super plain and a little earthy.
3.5 Pour is a deep dark brown with a thin tan head and almost no lacing. Smell is of roasted malts (duh), some caramel, and chocolate notes. Taste is malty, caramel, and cocoa. Ends a little bitter.

3.1 Pours really dark with a tan head. It was really malty with roasted coffee and coffee. I couldn't decide if I really liked this one or not. Left a bit too much of a roasted coffee aftertaste but overall a decent brew.
3.4 650 ml bottle. Big scents of roasted malts and coffee with some chocolate. Pours a dark brown with a thick tan head. Big roasted tastes, a dry mouthfeel. Super well balanced with a sweet notes. Tastes more like a porter than a brown ale.
