3.8 Shared a 22 oz bottle with two others, but I had them drink most of it as it was a little over the top with hazelnut and chocolate sweetness. Nevertheless, as a dessert beer or in modest quantities it's tasty.
3.5 8Oct2018 Toasted nuts, dark malts, toasted chocolate cookies. Hazy brown, medium, creamy, beige head. Light sweet. More chocolate, toasted nuts, sweet, dark malts, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Nice. Keg at The Merchant, Canary Wharf.
3.6 Draught at Skaal. High creamy lasting brown head. Pitch black body. Smooth creamy choccolate roasted malt vanilla aroma. Nicely hopped and not sweet roasted malt choccolate vanilla flavor wth little carbonation and a long finish.
3.6 Taste: bold hazelnut, chocolate, nutty malt, slight sweet, some bite. Big earthy nutty, cocoa nose. Black/brown hue, semi opaque, refined creamy head, webbed lace. Medium body. A mix of two of their famous beers.
3.9 Bottle at home. Pours deep brown, nose is hazelnut, chocolate, roasted, caramel, taste is similar, sweet, a little artificial.
3.5 650ml bottle. Poured dark brown color with a thin off white head. Hazelnutty toasty sweet chocolate aroma. Some maple with sweet chocolate, nutty creamy flavors. Light bodied. Enjoyable chocolate nutty flavors.
3.1 Deep brown, small head. Interesting but the intense sweetness from the Hazelnut overpowers whatever roast may exist
3.9 Torpedo bottle. Dark brown black. Medium head. Big aroma of hazelnut, toffee, sweet cracker, vanilla, chocolate candy bar. Aroma is more hazelnut. Taste is more chocolate stout. Medium heavy body. Medium light sweetness. Delicious.
3.7 Draft - Chocolate and hazelnut. Jet brown black with a small white head. Chocolate and hazelnut with a bitter nutty finish.
3.3 Bottle at KØ18. Good chocolate powder aroma. Cloudy dark brown colour. No head. The flavour has a lot of chocolate powder. Low bitterness. Watery finish, actually.
4.5 Fabulous aroma, with the hazelnut coming through. The burnt malt covers the nut when tasting the beer, but this isn’t really a complaint. Noted the hazelnuts in the the aftertaste. Finishes sweet.
3.6 65cl bottle. Pours pitch black with a two fingers thick, hazelnut coloured, very compact and creamy head. Definitely good looking and promising. Totally hazelnut dominated aroma with some roasted malts and dark chocolate notes coming through. Taste follows the nose impression but is far bitter than expected (but I forgot that neither Hazelnut Brown Nectar and the Chocolate Stout are exactly candy-like beers). The bitterness rounds a bit as the beer warms leaving some space for dark chocolate, some roasted coffee and maybe some vanilla and almond traces. Unfortunatly mouthfeel is lacking the full body it would deserve, way too watery. I wounder about an "imperialized" and sweeter version of this...
4.2 Light tan creamy head. Rich and chocolatey with a nice nutty flavor. Somewhat sweet. Very tasty.
4.0 On tap at Alibi Room in Vancouver. A very dark beer with a bit of tan head and a faint nose of cocoa. Chocolate and roasted barley notes on the palate. Deep dark and delicious. Rich but not overpowering. 4
3.6 Bottle@yesprs - Black pour with beige head. Sweet and light roasted malty with sweet chocolate and prominent nutty notes, medium body, sweet malty finish.
3.5 Sample from 66 cl bottle. Near black with a thin tanned head. Sweet aroma with chocolate, caramel malts and more milk chocolate. Taste is sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and an average carbonation. Finishes sweet with caramel malts and chocolate. To sweet for my liking.
3.5 75 cl bottle. Pours dark brown to black, small brown head. Aroma is chocolate and roasted dark malty. Bitter, roasted, dark malty. Breadish. Lingering roasted and dark malty finish.
3.8 Faint hazelnut notes on top of a medium bodied dark bronze pour. Flavor lacks the chocolate I expected, but still leaves me enjoying the hazelnut.
3.6 Deep dark nutty brown hue under a thin light beige head. Bright candied hazelnut aroma with a light chocolaty base and a touch of mineral water. Nice nutty flavor that’s got some roasty hazelnut and a light kiss of cocoa, but the body is so medium and just okay. Would be delightful if it had more body or oomph.
3.5 Bomber, World Market. Pours black with a soft tan head. Aroma is hazelnut, chocolate, roasted malt. Flavor is bitter dark chocolate, bitter hazelnut, burnt malt.
3.8 Rogue Ales & Spirits - Hazelutely Choctabulous 60% Hazelnut Brown Nectar Ale brewed with natural flavor and 40% Chocolate Stout brewed with chocolate. Alkohol: 5,7% obj. Ekstrakt: 14,5% wag. IBU: 75 Butelka: 650 ml Kolor: Brązowy, dość klarowny. Przypomina w odcieniu coca-colę. Piana: Jasno beżowa, drobno ziarnista. Gdzieniegdzie pęka do większych oczek. Piwo zostało zblendowane w proporcjach 60% Brown Ale do 40% Chocolate Stout. Tekstura zawodzi, a wraz z nią nazbyt wytrawne odczucie w ustach i zbyt duże wysycenie.
3.7 650 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with full head. Aromas of creamy milk chocolate and dark toffee. Kind of like a Mars bar. Flavors of follow same though a bit plastic and artificial. Maybe a bit of nuttiness. Still quite nice.
3.4 Looks like a standard stout. Sweet fudge chocolate aroma. Smells like fresh brownies. Get more of the hazelnut for sure in the flavor. Nice chocolate bitterness. Brown sugar and a dry chocolate bitterness lingers. Not as sweet as I thought it would be. The aroma is amazing but the flavor doesn't live up to it. Still pretty darn good!
3.6 Draft at CBF '18. Pours a dark cola brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have chocolate, hazelnut, mild roasted malts, not very complex, but good.
3.4 Draft at Bru Craft. Very dark mahogany pour. Khaki head. Lots of dark cocoa flavor. And hazelnut. So ... basically Nutella. Somewhat roasty. It tastes just fine but not much of a palate.
3.5 Flaska från boxbeer drucken med ölföreningen. Tack Daniel. Nötkräm och mjölkchoklad i massor med rostade toner. Med en ganska lätt kropp kan det då bli riktigt sliskigt. Men den här håller sig någorlunda inom ramarna. Fadd, lätt kropp och sötma. Gott.
3.7 Pours a very dark brow with a creamier tan head. Aroma is strong in hazelnut with chocolate and roasted malt undertones. Taste is dry, slightly sweet and not very bitter. Medium body, good carbonation, and smooth on the palate. Overall a really nice beer.
3.4 Pours dark mahogany with light head that quickly dissipates. Aroma, unsurprisingly, is a little like Nutella. Taste is bitter chocolate, opening up to sweet nuttiness. Finish is smooth chocolate. A straightforward beer that lives up to its label.
3.5 Draught. Not sure what to call this. Aroma is hazelnut and chocolate. Full bodied, sweet but not too sweet. Nutty finish.
3.0 Part of a flight at The Beer Market in Collegetown. Aroma of hazelnut, chocolate, and roast malt. Very sweet.
