3.6 Pours a gorgeous golden color with a crisp white head. Aroma is bread, light yeast, and a slightly floral note. Taste is bread, earthy, grass, cereal. Overall very drinkable, not a big beer but the style isn’t supposed to be.
2.6 Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: Pours lright yellow-gold with plenty of rising bubbles. The white head is good sized and durable, slowly fading into a thin top layer. Leaves decent lacing. Smell: Some off or unattractive notes from Euro hops. Taste: Better than what the smell hints at, this is a relatively robust and earthy lager. Mildly bitter, lightly hoppy finish and aftertaste. Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with a moderate-high amount of spft carbonation. Crisp and smooth. Overall: Not a strong style and one of the least attractive offerings from Rogue. Undated bottle is probably past its prime.
3.2 At Hangar on the wharf. Bottle. The appearance was a nice looking hazy golden yellow with a soft carbonation rising into a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute leaving some neatly coated looking lacing. The smell definitely had the German pilsener malts making up the majority of the aroma but still letting in an adequate amount of sweet bread. The taste was mainly the same with a decent quick crisp sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. The carbonation was good for the style and pretty good to me. Overall, I say this was a pretty good premium beer I’d have again.
3.7 I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste sweet, bread, floral. I thought this was good. I would drink this again.
3.1 Hazy straw/gold color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of malt, gain/hay & some hops; Flavor of malt, some yeast, floral hops, and grain: Crisp finish; Pretty good.
3.0 Bottle - etched glass - backlog. Pours gold with white head. Nose/taste of grass, yeast and light bready malt. Lighter medium body.
3.7 draft, golden pour, thick head. Great tasting lager brew, clean crisp brew.
3.2 On tap at Rogue Bar in San Fran on St. Patty’s Day. Appearance: finger white head, gone quickly, clear, straw yellow. Aroma: wheat, roast malt, light yeasty leaves. Palate: soft to flat carbonation, light body. Taste: wheaty sweet throughout. Overall, drinkable, but nothing special.
2.9 Aroma is a grassy somewhat grainy body with someone carbonated body. Taste is a nice is a fairly subtle body with light malt notes and a basic bitterness. A clean grain character on tip with a smooth matching bitterness. Body is a hazy gold with a nice medium lace body thst retains well.
3.1 10oz on tap at Flipdaddy’s. Clear golden orange color. Nice bigger off-white head. Good thicker splotches of lace, looks pretty damn good. Great texture to it, as well. Medium-plus body. Smooth, lightly soft, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Great appearance and texture to this, then. Flavor is not that interesting, though. Just some bready, lagery funk. A light macro-like weird thing going on in the flavor, here. Some corn type flavors. Decent ands interesting, but what about this is supposed to be Irish-style? Is it influenced by an Irish macro? Bigger sweet taste, light to moderate bitter. Despite the odd flavor, though, it never becomes a pain a drink, and lacks the bite of a macro. Has a near-perfect texture that you only see in craft beers.. Good stuff to try, and a pretty decent, classically tasting lager in the end.
2.9 From bomber to pint glass. Pours a clear light gold with full, fluffy white head. Both aroma and flavor are grainy malt with slight hay and lemon. Finishes dry and crisp.
3.0 Bomber bottle poured into pilsner glass from cellar (54F). Pours a light gold color with a thick white head. Head is long-lasting and leaves a lot of lacing on the glass. Aroma - biscuity, green, a touch of yeast. Taste - initially biscuit and then a touch of bitterness, then some malty sweetness and a finish that is lightly bitter and astringent at the back of the mouth. Carbonation level is appropriate and leaves a tickle in the back of your sinuses as you swallow. Note a huge fan of irish-style lagers, but it’s St. Patty’s Day. This isn’t bad, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to drink it again.
2.6 Best place to get a lager rating - for free at the Whole Foods Market sample pours. Nice crisp barley. More than adequate for style but still not something next level. Pours blonde with OK head and lacing.
3.5 Pours a golden yellow with a white head. Grass, malt, floral, grain and light hop aroma. Hop, grain, grass, floral, biscuit and malt flavors. Light body and average carbonation. Low bitterness and a grass and light hop finish.
3.1 Bomber->SA. Slightly hazy gold with small frothy white head. A: grains, lager malt. T: somewhat bitter, with grains and malt. No metallic notes, mild aftertaste. Not bad.
3.3 bottle. Golden with two finger head. Nice flavor for a lager. I’m not crazy about Irish-styled beers in general, but this is definitely an exception. Light malt body, pleasant slightly hoppy bite.
4.6 Vintage:2013 Appearance: Transparent Gold, Honey, Straw, White Bubbly head, Great Lace Smell: Honey Malt, Banana esters, Yeast, Green apples Taste: Banana esters, Faint Honey, Apple tartness Mouth-feel: Light body, crisp, Dry Finish Overall: Best Lager I’ve had so far. Comments: How Bud and Coors Should Taste
3.3 White head, beer color of apple juice. Aroma of yeast, hops, slight malt. Taste crisp, fine bubbles, hops and slight fruitiness. For light beer, this is not bad!
1.4 Light amber, lots of head, medium carbonation, not really skunky, but a little off taste wise
3.2 Pretty good. Light in color, and easily drinkable. Not too strong, so you could get away with drinking a few.
3.4 Pale, somewhat cloudy gold colored beer with a foamy white head that I guarantee will still be in the glass long after the beer has been scarfed. Nose is virtually non-existent with perhaps a hint of citrus, but so light as to be nothing noteworthy at all. However, the taste is ridiculously delicious. It has a bracing medium bitterness initially that develops into a crisp green apple-like tartness that balances perfectly. This fits so well with the perky effervescence to make an incredibly refreshing summer beer. I finished mine so quickly I was disappointed I didn’t have another bottle on hand.
3.4 Pours a cloudy medium gold with a sml fluffy white head. Aroma of yeast, malts and slight caramel. Taste is caramel, yeast, sweet malts and a ugh bitterness on the finish. Finishes dry and crisp.
2.9 Golden in color on the pour. Nothing great or amazing with this beer although, its a light, crispy beer with minimal floral aromas. Smooth and not complex on the palate. A nice drinker on a hot day compared to your usual market shelf beers.
3.3 Bomber to pint (shared with the Mrs.). Looks solid; a transparent gold with fluffy white head and lively carbonation. Smells doughy and a little hoppy with a notable pilsner yeast presence. Tastes like it smells, only better, with a biterhop presence and a good mouthfeel. A solid lager.
2.7 Clear golden colour with a thin frotht head. Malt barley, sugar honey syrup aroma. Barley flavour with hints of fruit. Sweet smooth texture. Dull.
1.5 Bottle. Pours a hazy darker golden color with a moderate white head. Nose has a little bit of that skunk that most cheap lagers have. Taste is much the same, and even seems a bit dirty. Bleh.
2.8 Some graininess, light floral, and something else. Is it corn? In a Rogue beer? Hazy yellow pour, like one of those wheat lagers that have been popping up. Light citrus and bitter metallic, not characteristically Irish like an Irish ale is. Approximate weight and feel of a better than average Euro-lager. Rogue is painted into a corner here...the premium price leaves the consumer expecting an extreme beer every time, and this is not one.
2.6 Super clear yellow with a really carbonated head. Dank aroma of ’noble hops’ and sweet corn but does have a flowery hoppy aroma as well. Metallic bitterness mixed with a sweeter finish and classic pilsner flavour. Rogue beers are never cheap wherever I have traveled to but i don’t know why people would pay decent money for a light lager like this. boring.
2.9 650ml bottle. Pours a lightly hazed yellow with below average white head that laces out quickly and leaves a thin ring. A lot of grain with the faintest wisp of something hoppy. I want to say there’s something chocolaty about the nose...Remarkably nondescript stuff on the palate. mostly grain with that same chocolaty edge and a faint hint of lemon. Boring.
3.3 A thin light head, with a great golden color and a malty aroma. Beer has very subtle hops overtones, with a mild body. Overall, very light taste. It’s a great option for powering down beers, and having some class while doing it.
