2.9Sampled at the pizza bbq over at vaughn’s. Clear straw pour with good ring of offwhite head. Hints of citrus and honey and orange peel. no coriander or spice though. Kinda refreshing. Kinda old bottle though.
3.2Hazy blonde pour into frothy white head that quickly dissipates into a ring of melting lacing and a swirling pool of foam as carbonated bubbles rise from the bottom of the glass. Aroma of malt, wheat, yeasty biscuit dough, and citrus. Initial flavor of toasted wheat bread with a honey sweetness and a citrusy finish.
3.5Hazy gold. Orange and wheaty. Slightly sour. Yeast. Very drinkable. Fizzy. Good beer.
3.7In bottle as Eugene City Tracktown Honey Orange Wheat. Pours a light golden amber colour with a decent white head. Aroma of honey, ginger, orange zest and caramel. Similar flavours with moderate carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. Quite floral overall with lingering orange and honey notes.
3.0bottle at the bow ... light hazy yellow amber ... hite head ... sweet honey floral fruit hop ... little medicinal in its nose ... soft fruits ... light bitter flowers ...efinite medicinal bitter flower tones ... ok
2.9Cask contitioned to a 4oz snifter
Initial impressions were of a sour orange, but later I could detect a lingering sweetness, almost banana but maybe it's just yeastiness. It pours a cloudy yellowish orange with no head. The taste is a bit unimpressive; I get the orange sour flavour, but not much else.
4.3This unfiltered beer is medium bodied with no harsh bitterness. It has flavors of honey and orange balanced with a nice medium-sweet malt character.
3.3A hazy, pale gold pour with a white head. The aroma has faint honey and citrus. It has a light and refreshing body with average carbonation. The taste is mildly sweet with a somewhat sticky finish.
2.922 oz bomber pours hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma of yeast, spices and honey. Taste is bread and a subtle sweetness.
2.8Was available at the LCBO for summer 2011. Pours a cloudy golden colour with a smaller white head and minimal lace. Mild sweet nose with the honey and citrus from the orange with notes of vanilla. Wet mouthfeel made for the summer sweat quencher. The taste is quite light, not too sweet, just a tad fruity with not much aftertaste. Decent for what this is made for, but probably Rogue’s lease favorite brew.
3.2Appearance: clear straw and lemon yellows under a brilliant white head which fades into a quaint bubbly collar. Head settles into a thin bubbly white layer. Swirls average.
Nose: bright honeyed summer sun-soaked grains. Honey esters and orange blossoms in the back. Very vivid! Lemon peel. Crackers and fresh honeyed roll sweetness underneath and in the middle – chewy and doughy.
Palate: fresh grains and multigrain bread, crackers. Lemon-kissed multigrain breads and crackers for a slight crunch. Honey sweetness gently holds it all together. Honey rolls in the middle, furthering the chewy bready profile. Honey lingers atop the tongue. More lemon, grains, and sunshine along the sides.
Final Thoughts: yes! Another really good Rogue beer. Rogue is always hit or miss with me, more miss than hit, with a dominant yeast strain which tends to dominate and homogenize their beers. Not so with the Somer Orange Honey Ale. I didn’t get much orange, none really, but what I did get was mighty tasty.
3.4Bomber. Pours hazy orange, small head. Aroma is a little bit of bread, tea, citrus...light. Flavour is similarly light with more orange and tea and honey of course. The flavours are nicely balanced and it’s simple and easily drinkable but not all that special either. Kind of light on the palette. A bit too watery and could definitely benefit with more body.
2.8Tap - big foamy head, hazy medium straw color, dry wheat flavor with mild honey, not much orange
3.4Hmm - pours a mildly cloudy muddy yellow with not too much head. Fragrant aroma - honey, tea (might be the camomile). Very much an "orange soda" aroma too. Taste backs off a bit from the aroma to a much more wheaty, bready, thin thing. Still some orange. Easy to drink.
3.122oz bomber. Pours very cloudy yellow gold with a thin and short-lived head (fades to completely nothing -- not even a speck or single bubble drifting on the top). Aroma is malty with touches of honey and caramel - quite "cake"-like actually. Flavor is balanced with hints of sweetness up front quickly fading into a dry and balanced, slightly bitter, finish. Light fruitiness and honey flavors throughout. Slightly grainy up front. Mouthfeel is medium in body with surprisingly light carbonation. Overall, a decent session beer but a bit ho-hum.
3.1Bottle - 650ml. Nice hazy golden body with average carbonation and a thin white foamy head. Fresh malty/hoppy aroma with orange and yeasty hints. Taste is well balanced and very refreshing. It carries orange, coriander, and yeasty notes. Ends with a decent bittersweet finish. Enjoyable summer beer.
2.4Poured from a 22 oz bottle, poured light yellow with medium carbonation and thin white head. Aroma at first reminded me of wet dog. But as it warmed it was very floral. Taste is funk. Floral, thin mouth-feel, with a very dry cotton-mouth finish. Not worth the $6.99 I paid for it. Shared with AirForceHops and my Buddy.
2.5Shared 22 oz bottle thanks to LiteWait. Hazy gold, very thin white head. Good amount of CO2. Smells like a generic marco wheat ale. Smell is light orange and a wisp of honey. Flavor is lacking. A bit of wheat, light honey and a touch of citrus. But the flavors are totally subdued and bland. I expected much more from Rogue. Disapointed to say the least.

I tried this beer on August 27, 2011 after purchasing from the Queen’s Quay LCBO outlet in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a hazy yelklow colour with a generous white head which quickly dissipated. The aroma was honey, spices, and grains. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with medium carbonation. The flavour was spicy, with a slight citric sourness, not a favourite.
2.8pours slightly cloudy light orange, micro carbonation, small head, lacing only at the uppermost part of the head. It drinks as a thin (watery) viscosity beer. Tastes that come through are chamomile, mild bitter orange peel, traces of sweet honey, and finishes medium hoppy bitter. Quite refreshing but lacks "punching" power. All the flavours could be bolder.
3.222 oz. bottle from the LCBO, served in a tulip. Pours cloudy orange yellow with a small white head. The head fades slowly to a thin cover and leaves a moderate amount of fine lace. The nose has lots of grain and wheat, along with yeast, citrus and a hint of honey. The flavour is slightly sweet, with a dry wheat component, yeast and spice. The finish is moderate in length, dry with wheat and citrus. On the palate, it is light-medium in body, with a smooth creamy texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a decent wheat beer, but not as citrusy as I had expected. 2011-07-18
2.6Served on draft at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a hazy light amber color with a thin creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Faint aroma with notes of oranges and a sweet finish. The taste is citrus, caramel, butter and faint hops. Medium bodied.
2.9The best attribute this ale has is the colour, hazy pale orange that looks cooling on a 100+ degree day. Faint pithy orange up front followed by honey on the backside and on the exhale. Very mild and refreshing but not a great beer. For its style, it is refreshing and cooling.
3.6Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with big white head that doesn’t stick around too long. Aroma of light orange. Taste is slightly sweet, mostly honey and wheat. Orange is present too. Really easy drinking, smooth, nothing overpowers too much. Nicely refreshing on a pleasant summer’s day.
2.0Had an enormous head at least half of it was head and that faded down to a thin coating. Lace was okay. Aroma had some grain but mostly orange. Flavor had a strong orange pith flavor and almost tasted like orange seltzer. No honey. Carbonation was like orange seltzer. Finish seemed sticky.
2.9Pours a hazy, opaque golden orange with a thick white head possessing low retention. The nose is a blast of orange: fresh oranges, orange soda, orange peel, orange lollipops. Extremely sweet and syrupy, with some honey, banana bread, and a hint of apricots. Mouth feel is medium-thin but on the watery side with medium carbonation and high acidity. Taste is like a flat, bitter Orangina, along with some distinct tea notes, wheat, and coriander. It eventually sours a bit to grapefruit, lemon and orange. Very dry, bitter finish of orange peels and coriander which can become a bit cloying after a while. I found this brew to be a tad boring at first, but I generally don’t like fruit beers, either. However, the spice and lemon became more evident as it developed which was interesting.
3.8Hazey, yellow-orange in color. It has a thick, frothy head that seems to stay around for quite awhile. Decent lacing. When i first put the beer to my nose it smelt of weed(the good stuff). There is a hint of citrus in the background when the beer breathes a little bit. The taste is sour like an orange but sweet like honey. A very good combo. For having honey i was expecting a little thicker texture but it had a thin texture. The finish is very abrupt. I was hoping for a longer finish because of the ingredients they used. This is a very light beer which is perfect for summer time.
3.0orange body with white head. aroma of spice, clove, and heavy coriander. flavor of honey, orange pulp, biscuit, and coffee cake.
2.9Bomber from BBM. This is a pretty hazy yellow with a tall, long-lasting white head. This one is obviously all about the honey, but it thankfully never gets too sweet. This is a very inoffensive offering with some natural honey flavor and some mild and natural orange flavor. There is honestly nothing else going on though. I can’t really find any hop character and there might be some graininess in the finish. It’s not so bad, but not so good either.
