3.7 Lovely big head, and a black body. Nose is sweet and confected, like easter egg chocolate. Taste is great. Much beerier than expected, it’s a good dark malty beer, with some very sweet chocolate thrown in, plus maybe a splash of raspberry juice. I couldn’t taste anything like pretzel.
3.8 Himbeere, Schockoladebisquit, cremig, süss, leicht bitter, sehr lecker. ------------------
2.6 Bottle. Dark brown, reddish refelxes, clear with small white head. Aroma of milk chocolate with a bit artificial raspberries and hint of toated malts. Intaste sweet, flavours mainy of fruits - of course raspberries with chocolate in the finish. Low body, bit watery finish with low bitterness.
2.0 APPEARANCE - sort of black, but it’s really dark brown. NOSE - smells like a tootsie roll right out of the bottle, opens up to the slightest of raspberry hints. FLAVOR - huge dissapointment compared to the scent. I think I’d rather have the taste of fake tootsie roll beer flowing down my throat than the actual flavor. It tastes somewhat watered down, with the slightest hint if chocolate aftertaste.
2.1 This bottled brew from a beer festival poured a head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque dark brown colored body and a fair lacing. The weak aroma was malty. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mellow finish with a mild chocolate aftertaste. The soft flavor contained notes of semi-sweet mild citrus chocolate and dark malt. An OK brew just nothing special.
2.8 Bottle from pikapp327. Dark pour with an off-white head. Aroma is dry, chocolate, sweet bread, and a little fruit. Taste is awkward chocolate, dry earth, and a weird finish.
3.9 Pours very dark brown with brown head. More of a porter with many ingredients than a "fruit beer". Aroma is caramel, vanilla, chocolate and coffee. Taste is very complex and adds a sweet bready hint to the aromas. Finish is roast malts and coffee. Very good.
3.6 Bottle @ Maxi. Nice novelty beer. I love the bottle design. The raspberries really gives a nice taste
3.9 Bottle, an awesome one! Pours bit murky with shot lasting light brown head. Aroma is milk chocolate, raspberries, freeze-dried raspberries, malt, slight toast, dry, sweet fruits. Sweet at first with raspberries, then turns more chocolaty and ends out with slight dry freeze-dried raspberries and malt. Some bready pretzels. Medium smooth body. Toasty malt dry finish. A nice surprise!
3.4 Bottle, 75cl. Opaque dark brown with a frothy to minimal brown head. Sweet aromas of dark chocolate, raspeberry, dried fruits. Medium to robust bodied with moderate to fizzy carbonation. Sweet with low to no bitterness. Smooth with deep chocolate and dark fruit undertones. Very rich and pleasant.
4.0 Pours frothy with lasting foam head. Color is deep; almost black. Smells of chocolate, raspberry, and mocha. Taste is sweet, but not overly so. Burst of raspberry, a little saccharine but pleasant, slowly gives way to a nice, lingering chocolate aftertaste. Very smooth and pleasant. A bomber is about right for this offering; it would be difficult to go multiple beers, but overall it’s excellent.
3.9 75cl bottle shared @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours dark with tan head. Aroma is chocolate and raspberries. Taste is a big hit of cocoa with raspberry jellybeans on the finish. Couldn’t get much pretzel. Interesting.
3.6 One of the craziest beers I’ve had. 750ml’s was a bit much for this style but pretty decent beer overall.
3.3 Pours dark brown with medium head. Aroma: raspberry sweetness coupled with salty aroma (pretzel?). Interestingly, I smelled the chocolate aroma from the bottle but not from the snifter. Taste: malty, with some dark chocolate elements and saltiness. A bit salty and hoppy in the palate. OK, but nothing special.
2.4 750ml big pink bottle from Beer Gonzo. Almost black with a big foamy head. Strong cake raspberry & chocolate aroma. Sickly sweet raspberry flavour. Cloying sweet raspberry aftertaste. Interesting but not for me.
3.7 Bottle. Tastes like a Ghiradelli chocolate with raspberry, or a chocolate-covered coffee bean with raspberry undertones. Which I don’t think they make. But they should. The dark amber liquid melds to near-black in the glass. One finger of pretzel-colored, foamy head fizzles away after a few seconds. In the nose: crumbles of dark chocolate, sweet syrup, peanuts, coffee, raspberry and a touch of mint. Raspberry is big in the flavor, a little artificial but not too bad. Earthy, floral hop character leads before smooth nuttiness rolls in. Bitter peanut skins, a touch of light roast coffee, caramel. Balanced, clean finish. The pretzels appear after the swallow in the form of lingering toast. Medium-light body. Much better than the last Voodoo collaboration Rogue came up with. Great flavor balance, less artificial-tasting fruit flavor.
3.8 [7022-20150111] Bottle. Chocolate raspberry aroma. Red brown body with long-lasting foamy tan head. Chocolate roasted raspberry flavour has a long sweet chocolate aftertaste. Medium-full body is quite smooth. Very tasty. (8/4/9/4/16) 4.1 [7041B-20150130] Bottle. Fragrant raspberry chocolate heaven. Hazy, dark brown red body with a quick foamy light tan head. Donut sugar and candy raspberry filling with chocolate balls flavour. Full body. Very tasty and full of flavour, but quite overpowering. (8/3/7/3/14) 3.5 (c/o HogTownHarry, w/ him, blankboy, GregClow, jercraigs) Overheard: "Really? I out-Robert-Smithed you?" "Shame... Shame!"
3.9 Pours a huge frothy brownish head that dissipates to a very thin coating. Has a dark, almost pitch black appearance. Lacing is surprisingly thin, but still sticky. Aromas of chocolate, sweet malts and a bit raspberry pokes through. Flavours are a mixture of the chocolate and raspberry, complementing each other nicely. No sign of a salty like pretzel taste, but a bit of a bready malt and yeasty hint flavour in there. Quite a smooth and light creamy mouthfeel.
3.6 Leo’s Hartwell bottle(17-Apr-2015)Roast choc raspberry aroma.Black,low head&suds lace.Broad choc raspberry flavour.Choc raspberry flavour&pretzel aftertaste.
3.8 Chocolate raspberry malt aroma. Dark brown colour good head and lacing. Chocolate raspberry biscuit flavour. Smooth lingering palate.
3.9 Aroma: raspberry lolly with choc and malt Appearance: dark cola brown, tan head and sheet lacing Flavour: big choc raspberry with toasty notes Palate: bready finish
3.9 smells exactly like it says it should do! sweet chocolate aromas with a hint of raspberry, also manages to look like chocolate in a glass with white lacing, tastes exactly right too, im glad i shared it though i wouldnt have been able to drink this amount of such a cloying drink!!
3.6 750ml bottle: This one pours a dark brown that transmits a little light. There is a fairly good sized tan head on it. Almost no lacing. It has an interesting nose. Salted caramel, chocolate and raspberry notes. Not what you’d expect from a beer, but it smells good. The taste is good. Chocolate with a touch of raspberries. There is actually a bit of a pretzel and salted caramel taste to it. Not too sweet at all. Surprisingly, this works! I would definitely pick this one up again.
3.5 750mL bottle. Poured deep brown with a short-lived head. The aroma picked up semi-sweet cocoa and vanilla notes with light raspberry accents. The flavor found similar.. cocoa and vanilla bean at the core, with raspberry seeds laced throughout.. sweet still on the finish. Light-medium bodied sweet.. much better than expected.
3.8 Butelka 0.66L. Wygląd: Brunatne, klarowne. Piana średnioobfita, bezowa, drobno i średniopęcherzykowa. Aromat: Melasa, czekolada, chlebowy, landrynki, raczki. Dość intensywny i słodki. Odczucie: Wysycenie średnie, musujące, ciało średnie+, faktura kremowo-pudrowa. Smak: Czekoladowe przypalane, przypalona bułka, maliny w posmaku, niska tostowa goryczka. Całość: Ciekawe, fajny owocowy posmak.
3.7 Pours opaque cola brown with a 2-finger dark tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate mixed with raspberry syrup or jam. Full body, mildly syrupy with a long finish. Flavor mixed a light note of char with dark chocolate, with a lingering note of raspberry syrup beneath. Maybe a touch of salt and dough from the pretzel as it warms. Very unique, good dessert pairing.
3.3 Decent aroma of raspberry. Mildly over-sweet. Largely artificial fruitiness. Very sweet; raspberry overload with some caramel notes. Mild bitterness on the finish. No way I could get through a whole bomber of this on my own. Seems to get sweeter with every sip. Overall, pretty disappointing.
3.2 Pours dark dark brown. Aroma of chocolate, raspberry, hops, no doughnuts. Tastes of same, though an unfortunate metallic taste and aroma came in at points. Lingering chocolate and hops in the aftertaste. Nice.
3.2 Black, mohogany tinted body, almost opaque with a medium-sized beiege head which dissipated leaving nice lacing on the glass. Nose is fruity chocolate, I get more strawberry than raspberry personally. A little earthy/ woody with some cocoa and espresso notes
