Roman Sloeber

Roman Sloeber

What a fun blonde beer this is. The nose is deliciously malty. The overall flavour is fruity, with hints of sweetness and a warm alcohol glow, which tapers off into a slightly bitter finish. We launched this classic beer in 1983, making it our oldest high-fermentation beer, which is re-fermented in the bottle.

2.9 Licht geel doorzichtig bier met beperkte witte schuimkraag. Smaakt zoals pils, enkel iets zwaarder. Vlak van smaak
3.3 Bottle from de Caigny Dranken in Essen, Belgium. The beer is golden/blonde colored and has a large stable white foam, with very nice carbonation. The aroma is very malty with notes of sweet malts, yeast, honey, citrus, peaches and spices. The taste starts sweet malty with notes of yeast and goes to a light hop bitterness with pepper and spices. Also light fruitiness. The finish is light bitter, light dry and a little alcoholic.
3.2 Geen hoogvlieger, deze Sloeber van 7,5%. Daar is ie te flauw en nietszeggend voor.
3.1 Sampled at Zythos Beer Festival 2018. Crystal clear golden color white head. Light fruit aroma. Taste is lightly bitter fruit
3.0 Fles 33cl thuis. Scherpig. "zwaarbier"smaak. Zoetig. (12-2011).-----------.
2.9 Sampled @ Zythos Bier Festival 2018. A clear golden beer with a small white head. Aroma of mild sweet grainy malt. Taste of dry spicy grainy malt, straw, medium bitterness.
3.1 BBE 15/05/2018. Kuulaan kellertävä väri, iso kuohuva merikuohuisa vaahto. Suutuntuma kuohuva, hapokas, alkoholinen, kirpeä, nopea. Samettisen kuohuva hapokas jälkifiilis. Semiunohdettava perus nautittavan tylsä belgistrong.
3.3 Goudgeel, volle witte schuimkraag, lichte waas, veel koolzuur. Aroma: Redelijk Moutig, gist, kruidig, peperig, wat citroen. Smaak: Moutig, Belgische gist, wat fruitig, iets zoet, kruidig, beetje droog en iets hop. Misschien iets makkelijk maar toch wel smaakvol. Medium body, veel koolzuur en prikkel..... ag dronk is iets droog, fruitig en kruidig.
4.0 Strong Belgian ale with a little taste of honey and fruit (probably banana).
3.9 Denne øl, minder om DUVEL. Den har de samme træk i fylden og humle smagen. Der ikke så meget ellers at sige om denne øl, end det er en god tørst slukker til en "ung" øl kender.
3.6 Bottle 33cl at home. Aroma light floral, grass, apple, wet towel. Pours yellow clear, nice sparkling, thick foam head, lacing. Taste is light bitter, flowers, some grain. High carbo, light aftertaste.
3.3 Bottle 33 cl, pours a golden colour with a Fast vanishing white head. Fruity aroma and taste. An average beer, nothing special.
2.9 Yellow almost clear pour. Belgian yeast, banana, cloves and herbs/spices for aroma. Watery and kind of flat taste. Some banana peel and sugary sweet aftertaste. Thin to medium bodied and high in carbonation. Meh, too high in co2 and not a lot going on.
2.8 Pours hazy golden with a lasting, foamy, white head. The aroma contains yeast, grain, bread, hops & spices, apple and alcohol (jenever). It tastes medium grainy bitter and very light fruity sweet; the finish is dry, yeasty, alcoholic, but short & metallic. Medium body, slick/watery texture, lively carbonation. Not enjoyable - I'll stick with Ename.
3.0 How: Bottle. Where: Had at home. Appearance: Golden colour with a white head. Aroma: Malt, fruit, bread, yeast. Body: Medium body and carbonation. Flavour: Fruit, malt, caramel, yeast.
3.6 Good Belgian Blonde, relatively strong, rather classic, not exactly outstanding.
3.6 Pours gold with a large lasting head. Nose shows banana, pear, peach, apple and Belgian spicy phenolic notes. Flavours include banana, apple, pear, grapes and soft bready malt. Refreshing. Carbonation is much too high.
3.7 Restrained aroma in a gold pour. Laid back hop malt balance is maybe a little sweeter than usual but eventually the expected flavours of a Belgian golden ale becomes apparent. Five years have seen my appreciation of this brew grow. It's way better than it's rating would suggest.
3.2 A bottle from Beers of Belgium drunk at Dad’s place while home on leave. Aroma: yeast, tangerines. Appearance: clear golden, pours a mountainous head when served at room temperature, rapidly dissipating to 5 mm. of bubbles. Palate: medium-bodied and slick, average carbonation, sweet and fruity at the finish. Taste: medium sweet, alcohol well-hidden, I would like a more bitter kick at the end.
3.0 0.33l bottle. Pours in golden colour with small white head, murky liquid. Aroma of bread, hay, Medium sweet, low bitterness, no sourness. Medium body, thick feel, pleasant warm alcohol aftertaste with hoppy bitter
2.9 Bottle. Pale yellow, large bubbly white head. Vivid carbonation. Yeast, hints of smoke. Bitter-sweet taste.
3.2 Absolutely okay beer. High abv is going to hit you, so if that is your intention, this is a cheap beer to take.
3.3 Bottle@ home. Straw yellow clear. Yeasty dry hay. Nutty bready. Fine mellow taste. Alcohol well hidden. Good carbonated. Fine clean brew.
3.0 Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer.
3.6 0.33 bottle. Pours cloudy gold color with medium, mostly diminishing white head, Aroma of yeast, spices, flowers. Medium to high sweet flavor, light bitter, spicy. Finish is short, light bittersweet. Medium body, lively carbonation, small particles. Nice Belgian beer, enjoyed it.
3.1 33cl botle at home. Appearance: pale straw with fairly big white head. Aroma: sweet malts, metal, apricot. Taste: medium sweetness and medium bitterness. Notes of malts, bread and coriander. Palate: medium bodied oily texture and lively carbonation.
3.1 Bouteille (from our man in Ottobruenn): Deep golden, unclear, big loose and slowly collapsing white head; moderate sweet-bitter aroma of orangey yeast, pale malt and lemony hops; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, hardly medium bodied, not very soft; lingering bitter-sweet lemony-hoppy finish with returning traces of yeast. Kind of a poor man’s DUVEL...
3.2 bottle from MoritzF - thanks! Hazy golden yellow, tall white head. Grainy malt flavours and some herbal hops, honey and vanilla.
