Rooie Dop Chica Americana IPA

Rooie Dop Chica Americana IPA

At Rooie Dop, we don’t really care about styles. But this is our version of an American IPA. Classic example of the style? Fits perfectly into the category? No. Does it need to be? It just needs to be pretty tasty! Chinook and Cascade hops dominate this beer and are assisted by a biscuity malty backbone. You just can’t resist a Chica Americana!

3.8 .33l bottle at Majstor, Belgrade. Rich, deeper orange. Effervescent carbonation, great west coast, deep resiny hop. Big, tasty bitter. Good hop, complex character. Some Belgian notes in yeast. Interesting!
3.6 330ml bottle. Hazy golden orange color with off white head. Hoppy piney aroma, citrusy fruity, light floral, caramel malty. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.
3.7 Bottle. Pours is hazy amber with thick white head that lasts forever. Aroma of tropical fruits, orange peel, some resin and pine too. Taste is moderate bitter, light sweet, some orange notes. Medium bod, light bitter finish.
3.3 7.1%ABV. IPA Tapped out a deep amber, 16ºSRM. The nose is full of deep malty sweetness. There is a real body to the malt. The floral character disappears quite quickly and all that you’re left is the residual malt sweetness. Nose starts to develop a pronounced lactic acid nose with flavors reminiscent of sour cream and yogurt. Mouthfeel has pronounced carbonation to leaven the heavy malty backbeat. Finishes off with a clean abrupt bitter palate. Its really brief. Not really lingering.
3.9 Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. Cloudy orange in colour that pours with a foamy white head. It has a bitter orange and pine flavour with malty and biscuit notes followed by bitter orange and citrus on the creamy finish. Superb!
3.4 Drank this so much, i even forgot to rate it... Really nice strong hops and full body!
3.3 Bottle. "Unfiltered, unpasteurized beer. Best enjoyed within 2 years." This one bottled 12/11/14 (at De Molen). Pours a massive head yet the mouthfeel is not overly carbonated. Murky dark copper color. Bit shy on the nose. Bitter palate, very hoppy but with rather too much caramel to my taste. Pleasant and refreshing if one-dimensional.
3.4 Hazy amber beer with a thin white head and a light citrus scent. Flavour is dry and citrusy as well with a touch of caramel maltiness in there as well. Not especially complex but quite tasty all the same.
3.4 Clouded dark amber. Aroma citrus. Medium bodied, not too dry, Citrus hops, grapefruit, peach. Decent, but pretty average ipa. Hoppy, but that’s it
3.2 Reddish brown color with impressive foam head. The smell is flowery hoppy and sweet. The taste is sweetish and hoppy bitter. Dry aftertaste with tart notes.
3.2 Bottle at home. High creamy and long lasting white head. Hazy orange body. Dusty sweet malt straw bread aroma without the fruity notes I had expected. Dusty malt straw bread rather dry flavor with sweet notes of peaches and a fair amount of hops bitternes. Low carbonation and a long dry bitter finish. Qquite different from what I had expected.
4.3 the aroma of pine, citrus, tropical fruits and spicy herbs... the taste is malty and fruity with notes of grapefruit, pine needles, garden fruits, toffee and some spices... sweet and bitter aftertaste...
3.5 Keg at casc. Pours deep amber, nose is toffee, pine, fruity, taste is similar, dry, sweet.

3.9 On tap in the Hoppy Loft, Brussels. Cloudy amber mit a massive foamy head. Thick and creamy. Big grapefruit flavour with malty graininess. Lovely.
3.9 Hazy orange color beer with a very big, lasting and frothy beige head. Aroma is malty, with caramel, citric and peach notes; hoppy. Flavor is sweet and slightly bitter. Body is oily and carbonation is low.
3.9 Hazy amber color with a white head. Fresh, citrus, hoppy aroma. Pleasant malty taste with a very good bitter aftertaste. Good IPA.
4.1 Bottle, 0.33l. Hazy amber orange color with large creamy off-white head and many floating particles. Aroma of grapefruit, passion fruit, pineapple, pine and caramel. Taste starts with moderate sweet biscuit malts, following is refreshing fruity and resinous with mild spicy mouthfeel and moderate herbal bitter finish. Full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Very rich and balanced IPA...
3.6 Bottle 33cl. Hazy amber coloured with an off white head that lasts for the time the beer is in the glass. The aroma is IPA like: very much American hops. But there’s yeast and malts too. The taste is less bitter then expected. The IPA taste is there, but there’s a pleasant, somewhat sweet aftertaste too.
3.2 Bottle 0,33l. Pours hazy orange color with all white head. Aroma sweet, fruity, citrus. Taste caramel, bit sweet, hops, honey. Medium body.
3.1 Bottle @ De Tolly Joogipood. Pours hazy orange with medium yellowish head. aroma is malty, sweet, grassy. Taste is medium sweet, slight bitterness, citrus, malty, honey.Nice grassy bitter finish. medium body, oily-slicky. Not mine kind of IPA.
3.6 Bottle 33cl / Botella 33cl. @ Cervezorama 2.0. A: Amber / Ambar. T/S: Hops, fruity, malty, slightly yeasty / Lupulo, afrutado, malta, ligeramente a levadura
3.8 Subtile.Robe rouge, peu trouble, généreux col blanc.Mousse très fine et légèrement collante.Nez de fruits jaunes, léger sucré, senteurs d’herbes et de fleurs estivales.En bouche, les même choses.Très équilibré, subtil, ni sèche ni gourmande, en finesse.
4.0 Bottle at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam. Fruity aroma, pours with a big fluffy head. Dry, herbaceous hops, some sweetness and plenty of citrus. Lovely beer.
3.3 Fľaša. Tmavo oranžová farba, biela bublinková pena. Vôňa mandariniek, citrusov, chmelu. Chuť na začiatku jemne sladká, hned prechádza cez citrusové, pomarančové a mandarinkové tóny. Dlhá horká dochuť. Trochu suchá a trpká zároveň.
3.8 Bottle at home. Clear Amber with smooth big off white head. Nice citrusy fresh hops, grapefruit, biscuits, caramel, gingerbread. Slight metallic finish, maybe because this is not that fresh anymore. Medium bodied with above average carbonation. Nice.
