3.4Old rating from 2017 - 500ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a off white head. Aromas & tastes of raisin, plums, hazelnuts, chocolate, toffee, wood & burnt malt. Moderate body. Smooth & creamy finish
Pint from the cask at the John Bull Inn, Alnwick. As above, enjoyable enough to have a second
3.4Bottle, 50 cl, SB. Overall pleasant ale: smooth, malt dominates. Nice colour. I didn't experience the smokey features told on the bottle.
3.3Bottle from Systembolaget. Chocolatey notes in the aroma. Quite dark ruby, verging on black. Slight cola finish to it, but a pretty agreeable ruby. Could go the distance with it for sure.
3.3Bottle from Systembolaget. Fruity smell with caramel. Similart taste, floral and toasted. Low bitterness. Easy to drink.
4.1Otroligt god!
3.5Mahogany colored, medium sized beige head. Aromas of bread, caramel, nuts and marmalade. Taste of malt, dried fruit, nuts, caramel and marmalade.
3.5Bottle 500ml. Dark reddish brown. Fluffy offwhite head. Bready malts, nuts dark fruit. Low bitterness. Soft carbonation. A callic British style
3.4Deep ruby brown with a frothy off-white head, and a malty aroma with a feint hint of chocolate. The taste is classic Northern mild, on the watery side, with a fruit and nut malty flavour, alongside a little roasted malt, and a lasting fruity finish.
3.6Cask at the White Lion, St. Albans in 2012. Dark, bright ruby with an offwhite head. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel, tinned prunes and malt. Malty, fairy sweet and quite fruity flavour with a hint of roastiness.
3.6Bottle courtesy of SimonTomlinson via the RB EU 2019-3 trade. Deep auburn with a creamy, light beige head. Mild caramel and ash aroma. Dry and mildly bitter with lingering woodsmoke at the end. Faint berry tartness. Medium body, balanced carbonation. A nice one.

3.2Cask at Herbert Wells Spoons in Woking. Low key malty chocolate aroma. Dark brown. Creamy beige head. Light bitter. A hint of berry sourness but predominantly malty. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat carbonation. Abrupt finish. Serviceable mild.
3.5Dark and malty brew. Marzipan sweetness with toffee aromas. Big hazelnut flavours and lovely smooth finish. Seen loads of times in the co-op but never bothered with it before. Will buy again.
3.9Bottle. Black with a small head. Excellent malty, nutty flavour. Quite distinctive in a world that seems to be dominated by IPA's. The label says that it is an award winning beer-and you can see why. Great to see this style in a bottle-long may it continue. Well worth trying.
3.7Bottle from Booths, Keswick. Clear ruby/brown body with a thin beige head that holds well. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of raisin, wood and milk chocolate. Flavour of stewed tea and cigar. Thin body with a sticky mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Really tasty - I’m surprised it’s not been scored higher.
3.2Sample at the Bluecoat.
Thin creamy beige head. Hazy amber pour. Smooth and easy drinking
3.3Aroma of chocolate, caramel, dried fruits and nuts. Mahogany with a tan head. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium body with soft carbonation. Dry finish. Overall a nice, well balanced Mild.
3.5Cask @ St Ives Booze on the Ouse festival. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are rich caramel, fruits, malt, little nuts and hops. Nice sweet finish.
3.4Cask at Meat and Barrel, Southsea - Pours deep red (ruby, in other words) with very little carbonation, aroma is malty summer fruit, taste is mostly bitter.
3.2Cask @ The Jemmy Hirst, Rawcliffe, East Yorkshire.
Traditional dark mild, lacking a great head though. Not sweet like many milds, more fruity in my opinion, light hops, malt with a sour note at the end.
3.0Rudgate Ruby Mild, 4.4% - on tap at the GBBF at Kennington Olympia, 2017. Dark ruby colour. Fruity, winey aroma of raspberry and strawberry. First taste is slightly hoppy, slightly sourishly fruity. Malty and medium bitter middle and roasted notes. Some spicy hops, fruit and raisins in the finish. Well, it's a mild.
3.5Dark ruby with small head. Aroma has lovely vanilla note, toffee, quite sweet. Taste nutty, wood notes, a bit of roast. Very nice
2.7Cask half at the King’s Tun, Kingston. Pours red brown with s beige head. Some mild roast malt. Sweetish taste, bitter finish. Nothing great here.
3.8At the Moon under the Water in Watford. The beer pours a clear dark mahogany with a rich tan head. The smell is earthy toasted malt, dull sweetness. The taste is earthy toasted malt, some brown sugar, dry and slightly fruity ending. The body is light+ and grainy with mild carbonation. Nice...
3.5A dark reddish brown colour with a small off white head that quickly dissipated. Rich fruity malt aroma, ripe plum and vanilla essence. Quite sweet, malty and a plum ripe fruit flavours. A light dry finish. Nice!
3.1Cask Pint at Edward Rayne (JDW), Raynes Park, London in May 2014 - Ruby/Dark Brown in colour. Malty; roasty malts, caramel. Fruity; dry fruits. Hoppy; light grassy hops . Sweet malty fruity leading to a dry mildly bitter finish. Drinkable. Not bad at all, but rather a surprising Champion Beer. (2014-05-13)
