Russian River Aud Blonde

Russian River Aud Blonde

Aud Blonde may be the lightest colored beer we have ever brewed at Russian River Brewing Company, but don't be fooled into thinking that this beer is light in flavor. It has a refined characteristic, which can be contributed to us blending pilsner malt with a unique hop called crystal. The distinctive characteristic of the crystal hop lends a citrus, almost eucalyptus quality in the aroma and mouth feel of the brew, while leaving the beer with a long dry finish.

3.1 Draft to taster at the brewpub. Looks solid; a transparent gold with white lacing and lively carbonation. Smells of mild biscuit aalongside a touch of hops. Tastes like it smells, but more bitter than biscuity. Mouthfeel is medium light-bodied and fairly dry. Not bad, but unmemorable.

3.1 Sampler at the brewpub in Santa Rosa. Hazy golden color with small white head. Some grapefruit, floral-herbal, grainy-malty. A nice dry golden Ale, but well... Not my style again.
3.5 3 oz chilled pour from tap into cylindrical taster as part of Russian River’s “everything on tap” sampled (16 beers this time around) at the brewery itself. I realize that drinking 16 different 3 oz pours is not ideal for proper rating, but when will I ever have an opportunity like this again? Great body. Flavor is subtle. Very drinkable.
3.1 Draught at the Russian River Brewing Co, Santa Rosa, CA. Cloudy yellow colour with a small to mid-size white head. Mild sweet malty aroma. Dry hops, moderate bitterness and grainy maltiness in the flavour. Bitterness stays.

3.2 Pale yellow color, nice lacing. Arom ais light. Little bit of leon and grapefruit. Not much going on there. Flavor is maize, malts, little bit of hops. Would pair really well with tortilla chips or Mexican food, I feel.
3.2 On a marathon tasting flight at Russian River. Pours light clear yellow. Meh.
4.0 (En fût au O’ Brien’s pub): Une croûte céréalière légèrement miellée et propre qui se laisse aguicher par des houblons agrumés et délicatement parfumés. Une fabuleuse concoction au service d’une buvabilité pure.
