4.5Remarkable. Absolutely hoppy, pine and floral on the nose. Beautifully light and luscious mouthfeel. Would buy this again for $8 a bottle. Grapefruit notes, pale yellow color, beautifully balanced, dry finish. Not sweet. Totally drinkable. A serious craft beer.
3.8Taster pour on tap at Boneyard Bistro. Appearance is lightly hazy, piss yellow with tons of sparkle, finger-width white foamy head with excellent retention and tons of soapy lacing. Aroma is nondescript fruit salad. Taste is sweet nondescript fruit salad with offsetting strong bitterness. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation and dry, crisp, mostly bitter finish. Overall, a really nice look but the aroma and taste are fairly weak and the dominant feature of the brew is bitterness.
4.1Bottle from Beverage Department in L. Clear amber beer with a medium white head. Nose have that sweet Pliny notes, lime, lemon and grapefruit peel, pine, lime cordial, lime peel. Taste is hop bitter, lime peel, grapefruit rind, pine, tangy citrus fruit...
3.6Lemony-piney nose with a touch of stone fruit. Medium light body. Nice hop flavor with a moderate bitterness. Pleasant bitter finish, no harshness. Very drinkable, but the ABV is a bit on the high side for a mid-to-light IPA.
4.3510ml bottle from California:
A bright, clear orange to amber with a 3cm white head that’s thick & foamy but has great retention. The nose is fresh, floral & clean, doesn’t overpower & is a mix of citrus, pine & grassy hops before some biscuit shows at the end. The taste is pine, citrus & the same biscuit backing with light grapefruit & a hop resin on top of a lively, well-carbonated beer that was crisp & very drinkable; outstanding stuff.
4.1Clear pale gold with a white head. Aroma is quite citrus, but with bread malt. Taste is initially malty, but distinctly bitter. Excellent.
3.4Bottle, 50 cl. Clear golden. Malty taste, moderate bitterness with notes of citrus. Refreshing and good.
3.8on tap at South Philly Taproom - nice golden color. Good hop aroma and flavor with a bitter finish.
3.70,5 litre Bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar, Escondido, Ca. Golden with white head. Malts, hops, pine, bitterness, Fruity.
4.1Fat @ Russian River. Lätt disig gyllenorange öl med ett ljusbeige skum. Doft och smak av persika, grapefukt, malt, gräs och tallbarr. Mycket bra balanserad.
4.114-OCT-2019, draft @Stone Brewing Escondido.
Almost clear golden with a ladting, white head.
Aroma is citrus and pine. Taste is grape fruit, pine, and spice. Sweey and extremely bitter. Very good.
4.1Classy, West Coast IPA. Clear, golden color. Pine and citrus in the aroma. Strong and clean hoppy bitterness in taste.
3.9golden hazy, Ok head retention. The aroma is hoppy, grassy, resiny, citrus, pine, litchi. The taste is great enjoyability, its mouthfeel is soft in carbonation and dry in finish.
4.1510ml bottle home, trade from CA. Nearly clear golden orange, rocky white head with excellent retention and lacing. Hop forward with lemon and grapefruit citrus, touch of mango, then big pine, resin, the malt is there but only for balancing purposes - this is totally a hops show, and a tasty one at that. Medium but soft carb, full body, slick texture. Lingering, bittering piney hops finish with a hint of citrus. Well put together and delicious. Thank you West Coast.
3.2Serving: from growler purchased at Fresh Foods.
Aroma: light pine.
Appearance: average-sized, frothy, off-white, initial head. Clear, medium-yellow body.
Taste: lightly bitter, citrus initial flavor and finish with average duration.
Palate: light-to-medium body with watery texture and lively carbonation.
Overall: pretty good.
4.1Incredible beer - the advertisements are written by paid staff meant to promote how amazing a beer is... and I agree with them so why change anything
4.5Dank smell up front, but then a piney yet fruity taste, quickly followed up by the bitter aftertaste that a classic IPA requires. I would highly recommend.
4.0I've had Blind Pig many times, but usually at a bar where I couldn't rate it. Medium pale yellow, slightly hazy with a foamy white head. Grass and slight lemon aromas with a clean biscuit malt background. A bit of charred wood in the flavor along with lemon and citrus pith bitterness. Good honeyed sweetness to balance, but the bitterness prevails. Body is light and slightly watery. Finishes with lasting pithy bitterness and a mild sweetness. Delicious and drinkable.
4.0Draft at Capone's, clear golden. Mildly piney aroma. Full body, smooth but intense citrus hops taste. Long bitter finish. Top notch stuff.
3.7510ml bottle from...somewhere in Carlsbad I think. Nearly transparent light caramel gold pour with quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is piney grapefruit zest and crisp biscuit. Nice. Taste is a bit more straightforward piney bitter, with a bubbly crisp palate. Dry bitter finish. Tasty. Not up to the reputation I think but very good.
4.0On tap at Toranado. I ordered this at the same time as Pliny the Elder. I had my wife mix them up and hand them to me blind. I was, indeed, able to pick out the Pliny, but I will say they are pretty darn close, also in appearance. Very similar, just a slight less robust than Pliny, but still fantastic.
3.8Golden with a white head - Citrus hop aroma - Malt body to support a good hop flavour that has citrus and nice bitterness - The hop citrus flaovur goes into the finish with a nice bitterness - This was good
4.3500ml bottle. 4/19/19 bottle date. Appearance: Golden, crystal clear, with a pillowy white head and great lacing.
Aroma: Mango, pineapple, grassy, and some resinous pine.
Taste: Medium malt sweetness with only the slightest touch of caramel. Light citrus and grassiness builds slowly into a powerful bitterness in the swallow.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a touch of viscosity and a high carbonation.
Finish: Strong bitterness dominates the finish, with some sticky resin dryness.
Overall: A superbly clean, crisp American style IPA with a wonderful aroma. Just enough malt character to balance a really strong bitterness that builds slowly without being overpowering
3.2At the bewery almost no head, clear quite pale gold color, malty cakey aroma with some yeast and herbs, herbal bitterness. light maltiness, hint of onion. Simple but clean and enjoyable.
3.7Pint at Backcountry Pizza. Pours a clear, bronze color, with a medium, white head, and some good lacing. The aroma is strong resin, dust, caramel, and light anise. Sweet and malty, with a mellow bitterness. Very smooth and clean. Quality.
4.0Golden IPA bitterness with lots of piney hoppy citrusy flavors. Good standard for others to be compared.
3.9Ar: Lots of lemon and pine; orange pith; clean, sweet malt; pineapple. Ap: Light gold and clear; large white head with great retention; head recedes very slowly as a thick cap of solid bubbles, leaving a web of lacing along the glass sides as it goes. T: Chalk, grapefruit rind, pineapple, and lemon up front; very low sweetness; clean, crackery malt; bitters are high and very clean; more minerality with some grapefruit rind; finish is grapefruit zest, pine, and more lemon. M: Light body with high carbonation; very dry finish. A west-coast IPA with a lot of drinkability and a ton of hop flavor all at once.
4.5From a bottle to a glass. Pours a clear light amber color with a huge frothy creamy head. Aroma is Citrusy, Lemon Starburst candy, Orange, pine oil, grapefruit, guava, floral, mango, tangerines, slight sweat bready malts. Taste follows the aroma well with a medium to light mouthfeel. Excellent Ipa! $5 for one pint bottle.
4.6Pours Golden with a good head. Piney resin on the nose and on the taste buds. A classic west coast IPA.
