When we made the Toronado’s 20th Anniversary Ale, we had no idea that it would turn out to be one of our favorite barrel aged beers we would ever make. With that said, we have always wanted to make a dark barrel aged beer using 100% Cabernet Sauvignon barrels but, we never were inspired. That is, until we blended five different beers to make the Toronado beer, the tobacco character from the the dark malts blended nicely with the furit character that developed in blending. So, with Concescration we set out to make a barrel beer using all Cabernet Sauvignon barrels. No, we are not saying that this is a replica of the T-rooms anniversary beer, after all, a beer like that can never be duplicated, and, there was no fruit added to that beer as there is with this one. All we are saying is that it gave us great inspiration to brew Consecration.
3.915-MAR-2019, bottle @Ulkløbben meeting, @Mads.
Brown, low off-White head. Funk, caramel. red wine, berries. Not as good as Supplication or Temptation that we had side by side. Tart, sweet, lively carbonation, creamy. nice.
4.52018 bottle. Pours ruby brown like a Flemish brown. Classic sour Flemish brown aroma with fragrant red wine, wood barrel, cherries. Medium tartness, earthy, dry, woody, tobacco taste. Really complex beer. Red wine really comes through but the mouthfeel is that malty sour Flemish brown light tart beer. Dont get the booze whatsoever, and it's 10% Russian River delivers again. Outstanding.
4.0Bottle from Whole Foods in San Francisco. Pours dark red, nose is white grapes, currant, raspberry, strawberry. Palate is white wine, currant, red grapes, some oak. Fruity and woody finish. Sour/red has been my favourite beer style since I started rating in 2016, it took me coming to San Francisco to try this and while it isn't as fruity as a Rodenbach and not as sour as an alvinne this is a great beer of its style (even though I still prefer the Rodenbach). I have the Supplication in the fridge and I am already hyped to try it.
4.5Bottle from Lunardi’s in San Jose, CA. Aroma is barnyard fruit leather, juicy rotten berries, dry-aged fruit steak. Taste is taaaaaart, blackberries, something sharp and herbal (almost like a bay leaf), prunes, minerals, beyond life and death. This puts most sour beers to shame.
3.8Flaska från trade. Vintage 2015.
3.9Oct 2018 - 375ml bottle at First Draft, Denver. As 'Russian River Consecration', 10%, more than $20 with tip etc. Short review in company. Dark purple-brown with a little head. Aroma is plasticky, blackcurrant and dark cherries. Body is light and smooth with tingly carbonation. Taste is juicy cranberry and currants, building acidity, plasticky oak. A really nice deep flavour if a bit wearing and a touch too acidic maybe. (8-4-8-3-16=3.9)
4.4375ml bottle at the Beer Jerk Bunker bottle share, thanks Emma. Pours red brown. Redcurrant, red wine vinegar, tart red grape stuff, full bodied red wine fruitiness, cherry, tart, wood, vanilla. Good body. Excellent.
4.312.68floz bottle, BOD: 02.28.2018, $15. Poured into an inappropriate pilsner style glass. Appears dark red/brown with hardly any head, and a little murky (fine sediment drops to the bottom). The vinous forward aroma is much in tune true Belgian Flander ales. It is higher in alcohol though, and while well hidden it kicks in the finish. The flavor profile is moderately sour with oak and frsh berry notes. A great beer that demonstrates that a high ABV beer dies not have to be heavy.
4.2Draft served in a tulip glass. Dark ruby clear. Resinous red wine and oak aroma. Great sour and tart taste and finish, Flanders style. Pricey but top shelf stuff.
4.6375ml Bottle aus Santa Rosa :) (Batch 110917). Der nächste große RiverWurf. SourSpektakel between brauner EssigVerneigung, holziger Wilderness & edler WeinVerfeinerung🧠💥🤩
4.2Red wine, wood, funk, black currant, grapes and cherries in nose. Pours ruby-brown with white head. Taste is sour with mild sweetness. Flavours of black currant, wine, funky notes, cherries, lemon and grapes. Finish is tart, average carbonation, no trace of alcohol. Overall excellent.
4.3Bottle@friend's place, from New York, USA. Strong balanced vinery nuances of plum, wood, currant, four yeasts starts to dampen each other. Wide taste spectrum and medium aftertaste with sour dark fruits. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, highly distinctive and high quality. Bit simpler than Supplication. 9 4 8 4 18
3.7375 ml bottle at Werckmeisters place, bottled 11.9.2017, shared by Werckmeister, many thanks! Pours a chestnut brown with a quickly disappearing tan colored head. Aroma of berries, sweet black currant, vanilla, oak, subtle hints of acidity, some green apples, some green grapes. Medium body with a soft carbonation, a light sourness and a light tartness. Flavor of tart and lightly sour berries, tannins, lots of wood, wine, some vanilla and gooseberries. Finishes with lots of wood and a lasting tartness. Overall rather mellow while the woody notes are too dominant for me.

3.80,375l bottle at home shared by me. Bottled 11.09.2017. dark brown color, small off white head. smells of banana, dried fruits, marzipan, raisins, earthy, bit medical, spices. very nice smell, rather unique. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, citric, some banana, spices, bit lactic, peppery, grassy, wood, some grape notes. finishes rather dry and medium sour with notes of white wine notes, grass and some lactic notes. rather unqiue, bit weird and rather lactic but overall very enjoyable.
4.1Clear brownish red pour with an off white head that fades to a ring. Aroma is cherry, vinegar, oak, and earthy. Taste is cherry, berry skins, tannic, oak, funk, and some cider vinegar. Very dry finish. Some acidic sourness. Really nice.
4.1Bottle. Pours a brownish-purplish color with a thin tan head. Lots of carbonation. Tate is of grape leaves, wood, dark fruit, wood, wine and malt. Similar aroma. Has a full body with a nice sour and tart finish. Overall, quite excellent. Will pick up again, when I have the chance.

Brown colour, cloudy, small head. Aroma of malt, sour, dark fruit, wine; elegant. Good body strength, nice malt base, with strong vinous character, grapes, wood, and astringency, moderately sour, light apricots, light residual sweetness.
Excellent.
3.8Ruddy brown, light carb. Nose is great Flanders like sour with light balsamic, cherry, wet wood. Taste is very sour, slightly enamel stripping. Flavors of sour red fruit, balsamic, light oak.
4.0Dark ruby beer with tiny head. Looks like a wine.
Aroma: grapes, wood, notes of current.
Taste: wine-like flavour, grapes and current. Wood notes and are easily distinguished. Medium sourness.
3.7From bottle. This is one of the Russian River sours that I enjoy in small amounts infrequently. It's hazy brown/red with little or no head but plenty of fizz. Aroma and taste has a lot going on. It's sour, but also has stone fruits and lots of red wine flavors.
4.0Flaska hos Jonas. Mörkt brunröd med vitt skum. Syrlig doft. Tydlig smak av vinfat. Torr och trevlig.
4.0Flaska importerad av Jonas från USA. Disig mahognyfärgad. Vinös doft. Druvor, fat, torkad frukt, trä. Samma i smak. Otroligt komplex. Syra, druvor, jord, källare, fat och trä. Torr och träig.
4.2butelka. brązowe, niewielka czapka białej piany, która redukuje się do niewielkiego krążka. w aromacie zgniłe owoce, drewniane, porzeczkowe, kwaśne, owocowe, kompotowe, pestkowe, taninowe, ściągające. w smaku kwaśne, zgniłe owoce, owocowe, pestkowe, lekko wytrawne na finiszu. super
4.3Super ułożone i gładkie, kwaśne z wytrawna nuta, elegancko ułożone, wiśnie pestki beczka można wypić całe na raz
5.0Bought this in san Francisco jn a bottle shop. I then took it home as i wanted to chill it and couldnt do so in my hotel room
This reminds me of the Belgium beer Duchesse de bourgogne and maybe its better than that beer. Pours brown and the head doesn't stay. Has a nice sour side to the beer it also is murky which I wasnt expecting
