4.1 Follows a sour route, until a chocolate palate comes from nowhere. It follows a less logical path than your average modern Simpsons Episode
4.5 15-MAR-2019, bottle @Ulkløbben meeting, @Mads. Clear Brown with a low, off-White head. Red Wine, Caramel, Barnyard, youghurt berries. Tart, lively carbonation. Great.
4.6 Bottle from Whole Foods, drank on 14th of March in SF. Pours dark red. Nose is sour cherry jam, strawberry, red grapes, raspberry, cherry joghurt. Palate is oomphy sour cherry, joghurt, raspberry, red grapes, agave, blood orange. This is so well made!! This is the kind of Sour Red Browns I love.
4.2 July 27th, 2015 - Finally, the last Russian River taster on this long journey through the absolute unit of a taster tray served to our table. The Supplication is a relaxed auburn color, and the aroma is a bright cherry note, and I instantly fall in love. The flavor introduces vanilla, sherry and cherry with a delicious tartness, and an excellent freshness. The oak is well balanced too, making this is an excellent finish to our day marking the completion of our beer pilgrimage.
3.8 Thank you Chris for sharing this bottle - Hazy reddish with a pinkish head - Sour wood aroma with some berries - Sour malt and wood flavour with some berry notes - The sour berry and wood flaovurs goes into the finish - This was good
5.0 Purchased at Whole Foods in Los Angeles area. Costy but good. Bottled 12-18-18. More sour than sweet, refreshing, hints of various spritzy winey oaky flavors with cherries subtler than expected. Very yum. Will happily seek out in the future.
Lite spretig!
4.0 Some wine and cherry. Plum and apricot. Pours maroon with decent head. Tangy end with some tannins. Bottle at Monks Cafe.
4.3 On tap at the brewery. Pours hazy orange brown. Cherry, raspberry vinegar, oak, lots of wood, lots of complexity, redcurrant. Good spritzy body. Delicious.
4.0 Small corked & caged bottle from Total Wine in Roseville. Poured into a snifter. Murky golden-amber with a foamy light tan head. Aroma is super barnyard funky. Sour cherries and oak prevalent. Funky wine notes too. Medium fizz. Lots going on here. Dry finish.
3.8 Oct 2018 - Heavy 375ml cork and cage bottle as 'Russian River Supplication', 7.75%, bottled May 2018. Pours a translucent dark brown with an orange-red hue, sparkling with a foamy dense beige head that leaves thick lacing. Aroma is really nice with plums, sour cherries, lemon-grapefruit-blood orange, peach all sitting in a damp part of a cellar next to some chopped wood. Really does smell great. Body is rounded, frothy with tingly carbonation. Taste is woody, some resin, cranberry, redcurrants, a little dry and tannic, mixed tart berries with a building acidity, faint vanilla. Fairly slow drinking, but a 375ml dose is reasonable. Definitely a contemplation beer though. (9-4-7-3-15=3.8)
3.8 Tastes of malt, red wine grapes and a touch of cherry liquor. Cherry is very light. Moderately sour. Light on the tongue. This is a straight forward beer but good execution.
4.6 I purchased this in California. Pours pinkish red with a off white head. Taste tart , cherry, Brett. I thought this was pretty good. I would definitely drink this again.
4.2 Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Campbell, CA. Aroma is red wine, spicy animal funk, wood, some tart berries. Taste is animal spices, tannic red wine, mild berry must. Incredible balance of spicy funk, tartness and dry qualities.
4.3 Spina @ bailey's. Rossa carica con poca schiuma. Carbonazione leggera e solleticante. Legno, ciliegie una punta di acido
4.0 Pours off-reddish brown with slight white head. Sweet fruity aroma with some balanced brett aroma. Tart at first with the cherry flavour shining through and a nice balanced dry finish.
4.0 It pours brown with a slightly off white head. Head retention is moderately good. The first impression is a winy, sour aroma. It is followed by cherries and leather. There is also a bit of a barnyard impression. There are flavors of cherries and leather with a moderate vinous quality. There are some wood like qualities to it. There are low levels of malt in the background. It has a very faint hint of smoke. It has a moderately feel with some pleasant alcohol warming. It is quite sour to start, but does manage of dry finish. Overall, it is quite complex in the nose and in the flavor with plenty of sour and brett qualities with the wine qualities. It work well together.

4.7 Bottle@friend's place, from New York, USA. Strong, highly balanced nuances of cherries, green apple, spices, some cinnamon. Some lactose and a hint of funkiness. Ultra- wide taste spectrum. Medium aftertaste with sour malts and dark fruits. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, highly complicated and still with distinct flavors. Best on its class. 10 5 9 4 19
4.4 Red wine, black currant, raspberries, vanilla, funk, cherries and wood in nose. Pours brown with white head. Taste is sour with red wine notes followed by forest fruits, vanilla, cherries, mild caramel. Finish is tart, lively to average carbonation. Overall beautiful beer.
4.8 very nice. and so so so good
3.7 Aroma: wood, berries, notes of vanilla. Taste: well balanced sour flavour with sweet malt, berries and vanilla. Reinventing sour ales for myself
4.7 Appearance is dark amber. The head is thick with medium sized bubbles but disapates quickly. The aroma has hints of the sour flavor as well as Oak and Pinot from the barrel. The taste has a nice bite, but lacks the excessive back of the throat sour finish. It’s just a beautiful barrel aged sour.
3.6 0,375l bottle at home shared with 3. copper hazy color, small white head. smells heavy spices, vermouth, banana, bit musty, light cherry, nice smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes spices, earthy, wood, peppery, light vinegar, light banana, red wine notes, tobacco, light ash. finishes rather dry and medium sour with notes of earth, vinegar and red wine notes. good one, but lacks some balance. expected quite a bit more. not bad but also not a winner. 7, 4, 7, 3, 15
4.1 Score: 8 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 17 375 ml bottle, bottled 07/21/2017, shared by Werckmeister, many thanks! Deep red body, with a medium, fluffy, yellowish head. Aroma of red wine, grapes, red berries, sweet barrel, some vinegar, some cherries, some apples. Tastes quite similar, with more citric notes, sour-dry cherries, some pears. Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation. Finishes dry, wooden, vinous, fruity, with apples, pears, some cherries, slight vinegar. Really tasty. Elegant and vinous, with lovely, diverse fruit notes, while the cherries arent that prominent. Greatly integrated barrel, very well balanced and fresh to drink. Not among my favourite style examples, but great stuff nonetheless.
4.5 butelka. ciemnobrązowe, niewielka brudnobiała piana na powierzchni, która pozostaje do końca picia. aromat lekko stajenny, słodki, owocowy, lekko przyprawowy, metaliczny, owocowy, funky, wyraźna malina. w smaku kwaśne, cynamonowe, kwaśny finisz, zgniłe owoce, gorzka cytryna, mega kompleksowe, bomba
3.8 0,3 litre Bottle, batch 010. Hazy red/brown with little head. Sour Cherry aroma, mild sour Cherry taste. Aged long, lost some taste?
4.4 Bottled in 2017. Reddish brown cant see through it almost at all. Sour cherries, red wine and musty funky aroma. Sour wood barrel tastes, malts, cherries, red wine. Long long finish of the same flavors follows. Pretty solid in all regards. Still not my favorite beer style but this is definitely a brew with many layers, the yeast and pinot noir barrels and cherries all work together.
4.2 (Batch 120516) Lots of pink grapefruit juice, soured wine notes, brown vinegar, lush raisins, leather, sour cherry. A touch of tobacco is coming through! Bone dry, acidic mouthfeel. Long, acidic, off dry finish.
4.6 Bottle. Dark ruby color. Aroma is dark fruits, wet wood, vanilla, quite some funk. Taste is moderate sour, sweet notes, high bodied. Lots of cherries, grapes, some caramel, vanilla, wood, funky cherry finish. Amazing.
