Toronado 25th Anniversary Ale started out as six individual brews, each with their own personality, and all incorporating Brettanomyces and or micro-organisms. Once the barrel aging was complete, Russian River’s Vinnie Cilurzo and Toronado’s David Keene got together to create the final blend.
To create its fine carbonation, we refermented the Toronado 25th Anniversary Ale in this bottle. Spent yeast cells form a thin layer of sediment in the bottom of this bottle. Pour slowly, allowing the natural yeast sediment to remain in the bottle.
From the label: The beer inside this bottle is for consumption only. This bottle is not a collectable bottle unless it is empty.

4.2Pour out of 750 mL bottle, slightly hazy dark reddish pour with thin khaki colored head, aroma brought notes of red fruit, oak, vanilla into a bit of vinegar, lacto, yogurt into some slight lemon, spicy notes as well. Taste was a mix of oak, vanilla, spice into nice tart lemon, slight red wine, vinegar, into some slight lacto, funky notes, finishing fairly tart, slightly dry. Nice.
4.4From notes. Tasted on 3/16/13 from a corked and caged 750mL bottle at our epic Bottleworks tasting with Curtis, Jedi, and crews from Knoxville and Nashville, big thanks to Curtis for this one. Pours clear amber with a thick white head that leaves average lace. The nose is sour, signature Russian River funk, along with a bit of raisin and caramel malt. The flavor is sour with some vanilla, currant, raisin, nice funk, and caramel malt. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long oaky, fruity, and sour finish.
3.8Bottle. Clear ruby colored pour, with an off white head. Berries, oak, light funk, cherries, notes of strawberry, some sweetness, moderate acidity, and some lemon grass. Nice, but not as good as I was expecting.
3.9Bottle from the release. Love the anti-EBay description. Beer EBayers sucked massive ones. Cloudy reddish color with a large whitish head. The aroma has cherry, berries, caramel, leather, funk. Moderately sour with a big red fruit flavor and significant -bal essence. Oaky, woody, and somewhat acetic. Nice, biting, lively mouthfeel. Not quite up to T20 level, but good.
4.0bottle shared by tom10101, many thanks brah! pours hazy if not cloudy dark golden with a small yet reviving light beige head, nice lacing. red berries, spicy sweetish chocolate maltiness, brown sugar hints, spicy calvados, soft oak - yet quite astringent woodsy notes, grass and pepper. light carbonation, light to medium body - oily, semi-sweet, woodsy-astringent and grassy-spicy finish. good!
4.4Chocolat qui glisse sur une douceur acétique, chlorophylle, vanille croustillante et bois sec. Belle complexité et aguichant équilibre.
4.0Bottle shared by tom10101, thanks a lot bro! Pours a nice copper topped by a nice white rim that leaves good lacing. Nose is of red fruits and light vinegar, really classy sour brown/red. Taste is vinous with nice balsamic notes along with some nice red fruits and the right level of acidity. Body was light to medium, carbonation medium to high. Delicious!
4.1Poured from bottle to glass. Copper amber hue with off white head. Aroma is acetic, oak, lactic, slight funk, apples, currants, lemon, citrus. Mouthfeel is good with a light body and great carbonation. Taste is dry throughout with tart following and wood astringentness in the finish. Overall this was a great brew.
3.5crimson light red. Very hearty nose. Lots of cherry, muscadine and blackberry with some lemon and spices. Taste is great. Cloves, blackberry and currants. Cherry pie but heavy lemon. This is great. Not as great as trade value suggests
4.1On tap at Toronado, February 2014.
Dark amber with a minimal head. Tart aroma of malt, berries, wood, funk and some vinegar. Similar taste. Solid and well made. The finish was really dry. I am glad that I got the chance to try this one.
4.0Bottle: thanks, Mike! Copper body with slight clarity & slight haze, topped with a beige & gray-tinted head that settles to a chunky, foamy collar. Aroma contains more oak & cotton-like, Brett-y funk than T-20, also with heavier vinous fruits & sharp vinegar. Definitely smells more tart, with fruity notes of cherries & lemon flesh. Taste is quite sour up front with nice, sharp apple, lemon, & cherry notes atop a dripped slab of wet oak. Perhaps some grapes, too, thanks to the vinous nature of the beer. Dry finish, with more lemons, cherries, oak, & grapes sourness. Tame vinegar, mildly acidic, & only a touch of funky hay in the aftertaste. Great brew, I liked this one a bit more than T-20.
3.8Bottle from trade a while back coming out to finish off the crazy black friday beer shop. Cork came out with a nice pop and the pour has an amber color with a coating of white head that held a ring on the glass. Aroma centers on the acidity, sour brown base, dark fruit, tart cherry, and a yeast cocktail. Mouth feel is medium and the carbonation is good. Flavor shows it has some acidity, dark fruits, tart cherry, yeast, barrel tannins, sour brown malts, and a lingering finish leaving the toungue watering. This is definitely a well made sour brown though I think the hype factor puts this so far up in the style ratings.
3.8Bottle gift from Sj. Nice notes of cherry, lemon, earth and bread. All blended together rather well. Very enjoyable.
3.9Bottled. Hazy nut brown-amber color, small off-white head. Leather, vinegar and spiceys in the nose. Medium-bodied. Vinegar, grapes, sour fruity flavor. Long lingering fruity-tart flavor. Delicious.
4.4A: Golden Straw/Mild Pinkish Hue, Passes Some Light, Thin White Head Ring, Minimal Lacing
S: Apricot, White Grape, Mild Cranberry, Mild Lacto
T: Lactic Acid, Apricots, Grapes, Mild Red Wine
M: Average Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Semi Sour, Mildly Tart
Overall, a pretty solid american wile ale with nice balance of lactic acid and fruit...so thankful to have tried this again (and get more than a 1oz sample)
4.3sampled from a 750ml bottle. Pours a reddish amber with a thick, white off white head. Aroma of funk, vinegar, nice cherry and sour fruit notes. Funky yeast, barnyard aromas. Flavor is tart, sour. Nice satisfying sourness rounded out by tart berries, vinegar, wet wood notes. The sourness gets more powerful as the beer goes on. Lively carbonation. Finishes on a long sour note. An excellent beer.
4.2Poured hazy brown with a finger nail of white foamy head
Smell of brett, dark fruit and yeast
Flavor was tart, yeast with cherry characteristics. Sweet cherry and brett, almosr Flemish like but better. Good balance of sweet and tart. Really nice beer and aging well
4.6Obtained in a trade with stupac2. 75 cl. bottle shared with Kraddel. Dark red amber with little off-white head. Nose is huge tartness, vinegar, lots of slightly moldy fruits, huge on sourness, lots of berries, faint acetone, faintly funky,… Taste is lots of sour red berries, vinegar, touch acetone, touch bitter herbs, sour malt, sour lemon & lime, big on the tartness, very sour, almost brutal, lingering sourness, faint chocolate & malt but overall pretty simple but solid brew. Could expect a bit more but highly enjoyable never the less. Body is a bit clean.

4.1Draught at Toronado. Nose is cherries, vinegar and funk. Taste is sour cherries, vinegar with some amazing oak flavors thrown in. Great balance to this beer. Great tart/sour finish. Amazing beer.
4.2Bottle sample - generously shared by Tod Hannon. Pours deep amber. Aromas of lemon peel, red fruit, slight caramel, peach, slight apple vinegar. Light body, nice punchy sourness, slight bitterness. Long finish, taste is forest fruit. Well balanced beer:nice tart forest fruitiness, caramel sweetness and vinegar touch. Nice!
4.2great sour thanks Todd !!
overall tart, sour dry beer with nice flavours of lemon zeste, lime juice, little vinegar and a slight bitter finish, aftertaste is malts, very very good !
3.8Darkish orange with a nice off-white head. Aroma is apricot, citrus zest, cranberry, red currants. Tart on the palate, fruity sour finish. Taste is lemon juice, red currants, sour plum, cider vinegar. I like a nice tart.
4.1Short-lived off-white head over orange-red beer. Very fruity, sour red fruit; flowery, lemon, quite a bit of wild yeast flavours. Sour, fruity, raspberry with lemon and obviously redcurrant. Light body by acidthinning, acidburn, not very carbonated. Very sharp, the fainthearted please leave now. But if your persevere, again a great one from RR.
4.3Bottle sampled at RBSG. From notes. Sour with dark fermented fruits. More please.
4.1Rating sheet from new years I think, figured I should probably get around to entering this. Ruby dark amber with a biege head. Malty, tart, some sourness, brett, hints of sweetness, bit of vinegar, makes me think of a flanders brown crossed with a concecration. Full body, moderate carbonation, quite tart, once it warms up becomes nicely balanced with a long tasty finish that leaves you wanting more...I want more!!!
4.4Bottle at the ba buffalo bottle share, suck my ass. Pours medium amber. A nice funky nose. Light oak, sour, tart, whisping sweetness shows flashes. Body is solid, acidic.
3.9[Bottle, thanks for sharing, Levi!] Poured dark amber with no head. Nice and tart with slight funkiness. Red grapefruit is also present and the acidity really shined. Long finish with what I can only describe as a "leathery" funkiness that is really enjoyable. Overall, this was a really solid beer that I wish I could have sat down and taken a lot more time with in a non-tasting atmosphere. Thanks again, Levi!
4.1Bottle shared at RBSG. Pour is a hazy orange with some white head. Incredibly tart nose, even more so on the tongue. Really a nice beer, but in small quantities.
4.0Bottle. The pour is a light amber. The aroma is a subtle sour. The taste is a mild sour and not over powering. Pretty good drinking beer overall.
