S:t Eriks Pale Ale

S:t Eriks Pale Ale

An innovative and fresh session ale in the American style, brewed with the modern hop variety Citra. Pale Ale is a shining amber example of Jessica Heidrich’s signature "Love and Hops" - easy to drink and rich with plenty of hop aromas and character. Aroma and taste - Large aroma and citrusy scent from the Citra hops with hints of elderflower, gooseberry and rhubarb reminiscent of a Sauvignon Blanc wine. Well-balanced and complex taste with distinct citrus floral bitterness. Long, fresh and aromatic bitter finish. Ingredients: Pale ale malt and Citra hops

3.6 On tap at Tullen. Cloudy yellow orange with white head. Nice hoppy light smell. Taste is balanced hoppy dry and caramel.
3.0 Bottled. Pours clear golden in color with a whitish head. Earthy and notes of orange peel in aroma, feels like a tropical damp cellar somehow. Hints of citrusy notes and light malty tones in taste. Light bitterness and mild soapy notes in aftertaste.
2.7 Bottle. A clear, pale golden beer with a small, white head. The aroma is a tad too much on the wort-side, with some lemon and grass. Rather worty flavor too, with pale malts, light bread and some lemon and grass. Citrus peel and a nice bitterness level too. Medium to thin on the palate, with a nice carbonation level. Short finish. Way to weak and boring this one. 140418
2.6 Bottle 330ml @ yngwie Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, grass and floral. Taste is light sweet and light bitter. Body is light, texture is thin to watery, carbonation is soft.
3.0 Bottle.Pours clear yellow with a white head. Aroma of pine, some citrus, malt and fruitiness. Flavor is sweet and fruity witn some floral notes, citrus and flour. Medium to thin body, average carbonation.
3.2 A golden beer with a weak and blond head. The nose is quite nice and slightly aromatic, fruits, grass and some grain field. Taste of grain, some grass, also citrusfruits, almost medium bitterness. The end is herbal and bitter. Quite light bodied, not bothering, quite fresh. In principle, aromatic and interesting but still something is missing, slightly confusing beer.
3.3 Straw yellow, slightly hazy, one finger frothy white head. Medium strong aroma has grapefruit, bit black berries, mango, sweet and fruity. Light body, surprisingly malty, round feel but bit watery, medium soft carbonation, finish is bitter and medium long, bitter and dry but sweet aroma balances. Ok, easy to drink session ale.
3.2 Clear, light yellow color. White head. Fresh aroma with hops and citrus. Distinct bitterness. Dry.
3.1 330ml bottle. Bright golden body with a medium white head. Light and refreshing, with a citrucy hop presence. Good summer beer. //Rated via Beer Buddy
2.8 330 ml brown bottle 4.5%abv. Off white head, clear light golden body. Aroma; pine, grapefruit, roasted malt. Taste; hops, malt, bitter, butter. Ok to palate, dry. Ends with roasted malt, herbs, bitter, barbecue. Overall tasty. (B@systembolaget Storheden Luleå, enjoyed@hotel room Luleå Sweden Feb8th2014)
2.7 Guldgul med litet vitt huvud. Frisk fruktig doft.
3.0 Bottle. Golden with huge white head. Fresh hoppy aroma of citrus, lime and grass. Flavour has only a little sweet maltiness, though the grainy taste of malts are more dominant than expected. Not overwhelmingly bitter in the finish and actuallly a bit disappointing in that area. Still it’s fresh and quenches one’s thirst easily. I’d drink it during garden labour.
3.6 No powiedzmy dobre i aromatyczne piwo jasnego koloru i bez metnosci. W smaku goryczkowe i chmielne, finisz takze chmielony.
2.9 Golden color, with a nice frothy head. Not clear. aromas of spicy, resiny and dank hops, nice appearance with a good carbonation level. Flavors of american hops, especially earthy, spicy and dank hoppyness with some slight citrusy flavors. Probably from the citra hops. Good overall beer.
2.9 Bottle from Systembolaget, Malmö. Clear golden colour with a white head. Aroma and flavour fo malt, hops, fruit and bitterness.
2.2 Caramel, fruit, and esters aroma. Lame taste with some grapefruit bitterness.
2.8 Rätt standard färg och arom. Smaken är frisk med en fin beska. Inga större överaskningar i karaktären. Bra bruksöl.
3.2 Bottle 0.33l from systembolaget. Pours clear golden with medium head. Aroma is slightly fruity. Taste is fruity with a rather low bitterness and malty sweetness. Okay for a Pale Ale. Best I had from S:t Eriks so far.
2.9 Medium offwhite head. Clear deep yellow body with light carbonation. Resiny floral grapefruit aroma with spicy tropical fruit notes. Dry-sweet resiny orangey taste with salty fruity notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dry wooden orangey aftertaste with salty resiny notes. Nice, but a bit salty and harsh. (0.33l bottle, Systembolaget Nordstan, Göteborg.)
3.0 Väldigt läskande med mycket citrus. Välgjord och välbalanserad utan att sticka ut.
3.4 Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours clear golden with a somewhat frothy white head. Aroma has citrus and typical sweet citra-notes, light hay and dusty grain. Taste is light bitter with a fruity bitter finish with some tropicla sweetness coming through. Thin to medium body and medium/soft carbonation.
2.4 Bottle from Valhalla’s Goat, Glasgow, Scotland. Quite a light, peaty, and sour pale ale; lightly clouded body, grassy aroma, quite bitter with a grapefruity and dry taste. One of my first Swedish beers, not bad.
3.6 Bottle from systembolaget. Pours amber with a small head. Nice drinkable brew, balanced fudge maltbase and citrus and passion fruit hops.
2.7 Golden coloured with a small white head. Nice fruity aroma. Thin body and low bitterness in aftertaste.
3.2 Pretty regular beer aroma. Slightly hazy yellow colour. Small white head. Actually well hopped. Little too stinging hops for my taste but still very good. Soapy, grassy. EDIT: 4/6/2014 increased taste from 7 to 8 and overall points from 12 to 13
2.5 16-MAR-2013, bottle @home, shared with Morten, from Systembolaget, brought home by Marianne. Light golden with low white head. Bitter hoppy with hints of fruit. Lager-like bitterness. Fresh is the positive word. Thine body makes the carbonation more rough. Not really an APA. Not match for the American examples of the type. Boring.
