Saint Arnold Ale Wagger Brown

Saint Arnold Ale Wagger Brown

At Saint Arnold, we are passionate about animal rescue. A number of us here are proud to have rescue animals as family members. To this end, we are donating a portion of the sales of Ale Wagger to support local rescue organizations to improve the lives of animals in our communities.

A beautiful, deep copper brown ale. It has a full, malty body with hints of chocolate, a touch of sweetness and a light hop flavor. A complex malt character is created by combining five different types of malts. It has a rich, creamy head with a fine lace. The light fruitiness, characteristic of ales, is derived from a proprietary yeast strain.

Saint Arnold Ale Wagger Brown is best consumed at 45-50° Fahrenheit.

Recommended pairings: Pecan crusted snapper & venison.

3.2 I wasn’t too crazy about this beer. Don’t get me wrong it was good. Tasted really identical to a Scottish ale (Belhaven I think) I had earlier that day.
4.4 Smells of toffee and chocolate. Strong brown sugar start. Slight bitterness. Similar to me like a bock
3.1 Bottle - Toffee, grains and light chocolate. Clear amber with a thin head. Caramel sweetness with a touch of toasted malts and nuts. Pretty average, I like mine with a bit more malt.
3.3 Very clear amber golden pour. Light white head. Malty toasty aroma with mild earthy hops. Flavor is medium sweet. Bready. Earthy hops. Clean finish. ---Rated via iPhone
3.2 Amber with thin off white head. Caramel, mild nut, mild honey, and mild floral notes. Medium bodied, syrupy, decent balance, and lite bitter finish.
3.1 Pours reddish brown with a thin white head. Aroma is malty. Taste is pretty standard brown with a slightly dry edge. Decent brew.
3.3 Pours brown from the bottle, producing an off-white head. I detected a spicy fruitiness in the flavor. Earthy finish.
2.7 Aroma of sweet malt. Pours a medium amber with a rapidly dissipating off-white head and no lacing. The taste is lightly sweet. Bread, biscuit and hint of grain in the finish. Medium-light body with mild carbonatin. Watery mouthfeel. Overall, I’m glad I only bought one 12oz. bottle. SADLY DIISAPOINTING.
2.9 Bottle at twisted root burger in Allen. Pours a deep brown with a thin white head. The aromas are.bread, malt. The mouthfeel is watery, bready ans has a medium body and good carbonation. Cheers!
3.1 This draft brew from the brewery poured a head of medium sized white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a softly carbonated transparent light brown colored body. The mild aroma was brown malt. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of brown malt. An OK brew just nothing special.
3.8 the only brown all i ever go after. i really only drink it in the fall for some reason but its a very good beer
3.8 Saint Arnold Brown Ale has a thin, soapy, cream-colored head and a clear, bubbly, copper appearance. The faint aroma is of sweet brown bread, bread crust, and pecan shell. Taste is of sweet brown bread, with a slight, underlying bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Saint Arnold Brown Ale finishes semi-dry, mellow, and highly drinkable. Overall, this is really well done. I recommend getting it and trying it. RJT
3.1 Tasted this beer on tap at the Saint Arnold Brewery in Houston, TX. A great malty brown ale, with a bit of sweetness and cocoa notes.
3.1 Well made brown ale that is nice to have year round. Decent blend of hops and malt that is well balanced and easy to drink.
3.2 One of the lightest flavored brown ales I have had. It has an interesting bite at the start, but it finishes clean. I suspect the bite is due mainly to the slightly heavy carbonation. Overall though, it is a refreshing brown and it would make a great intro-beer for someone not familiar with the style. I will certainly drink one again.
2.9 A clear mahogany beer with a big, off-white head. The aroma is of light notes of caramel and chocolate, but mostly grainy malts. The taste is mildly bitter and sweet, mainly obeying the aroma notes. The mouthfeel is medium to light. Refreshing.
2.9 12 ounce bottle. Pours amber with a decent biege head. Aroma of malt and caramel. Taste is malt, caramel, nuts, a bit of chocolate, and a bit of hops. Pretty good.
3.2 Nice session brew. Clear brown with a moderate tan head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is slightly thin, but malty and mildly sweet. Medium body.
3.0 Now this is a good brown ale to sink your taste buds into! Very robust in flavor and not heavy on the belly! Easy to drink would pair up well with some hearty smoked meats at the BBQ. This one had a nice smooth texture to it but it was also a little bit ‘chewy’ (which is a plus for me). This would be a great starter brew for those that haven’t tried any in the brown ale style of brews!
2.9 On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear deep orange amber with a gray head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of grain and bread with a bit of backing toffee. Flavor is similar with lots of malts, mainly bread and toffee, a hint of earthiness present.
3.3 Bottle. Aroma is toast malt with hint of sugar. Pours rich copper colored (not really brown) with pillow head. Taste is well balanced, but fairly constrained. Nice balance of malt and hops, but needs a little more punch to take it to the next level.
2.2 Bottled. Poured medium amber with an easily-resuscitated off-white head. The aroma picked up soured cola and nutty malts, with a touch of metallic citrus around.. seemed off. The flavor found about the same stuff.. sour malts with metallic zing around.. dry, tacky finish. Light-medium bodied and fairly sharp on the palate.. not a good feel or flow. I didn’t care for this.
3.3 Pours deep amber with a small but frothy light tan head. Sweet malty aroma with hints of caramel and chocolate. Flavor is a bit less sweet and a bit more hop bitterness and citrus, though still predominantly malt.
3.1 Courtesy of markwise. Pours amber with gold hues and off white head. The aroma is sweet with malts and some caramel malts to go along with a bit of roasted malts too. The taste is similar with caramel malts, a dash of molasses and then heading into roasted malts. The flavors do not really come together all that well.
2.5 Thanks to AttitudeBrew for this one in trade. Pours clear orange-brown with an off-white head. Nose is earth, some light fruit, some spice, and a peanut shells earthiness. Flavor is the same with some sweetness and some fruit. Light-bodied and ok overall. This one is kind of a slacker- it could be so much more.
2.2 Looks more gold in color than brown (on a small pour). Sweet flavor, a bit like an amber ale.
3.2 12oz bottle. This beer pours a copper brown color with some frothy beige head. Caramel and biscuit malt aromas with a hint of hops. Slightly sweet, roasted malt, and earthy hop flavor. Nothing spectacular here but still a good brown ale.
3.1 Poured a golden brown/copper color w/ minmal head- light lacing. The aroma is mostly malt with little hops, notes of caramel poke through but overall weak. The taste is mostly sweet- caramel/malts with a very light bitterness with an abrupt finish. Medium body and carbonation. A beer that is easily drinkable but nothing to write home about.
3.7 Received in trade from TexIndy, thanks for the opportunity. Pours a clear dark amber, almost brown with a thin white head that is stingy. Aroma is of chocolate malts, and some citrusy hops. Smell is really balanced between hops and malts. Taste shows more malt than hops with some cocoa and some caramel with a orangey, grapefruity hop bite towards the end. Mouthfeel is creamy/oily body is medium to thin. Decent session brew, looks a bit light for a brown ale, but drinks great.
2.4 Pours an amber-brown with light foam. Smells sweet. Tastes more like an amber than a brown. It’s sweet and very lightly roasted.
