A true amber beer from Nord. It also respects the conditions of Saveurs en or. Its slightly roasty taste is obtained using torrefied malts.

3.1330ml bottle.
Pours a clear, deep amber, with an off-white head.
Malty, quite spicy aroma, caramel, yeast, orange peel, vague hints of coffee, herbal notes.
Dry, medium body and bitterness, balanced CO2.
Malty, spicy taste, caramel, yeast, herbs, hops, citrus, earth. Slightly harsh finish. (2016-12-17)
3.4Clear amber of color with an off white head. An aroma of caramel, liqurice, bread and spice. A flavor of caramel, bisquit, bread, liqurice and bitter/spiced finish.
2.8Bottled. The aroma has caramel, some grass. Bit hazy, amber coloured beer with an off-white, medium, lasting head and small particles floating around. The taste is light bitter, light-moderate caramel malty sweet, with some grassy and herbal hop tones. Not much else there. More dry finish.
3.3Typical northern French bière de garde, the ’ambrée’ variant. Moussy, off-white, creamy head retaining well on the edge but fairly quickly breaking in the middle, leaving thin patches of beige foam over the surface; clear very pure and intense orangey amber colour with coppery hue, becoming hazy and deeper copper with sediment; lively strings of tiny bubbles here and there. Notably sweet aroma of strong ripe banana (even some bubblegum isoamylacetate), sweet red apples fried in butter with brown sugar, marmelade, honey, Sultana raisins, amaretto, lightly toasted bread, peach, white pepper, caramel, damp straw, raw red cabbage, stewed beetroot, cloves, dried basil, hint of tea. Expectedly sweet taste, lots of banana ester and residual candi sugar sweetness, hints of apricot, raisins and fig, light basic sourishness underneath, softish carbo, slick and lean mouthfeel. Caramelly and lightly nutty malt middle, sweet with a toasted bittering edge in the end, meeting with herbal, lightly spicy hop bitterishness and an earthy, phenolic yeastiness yielding clove- and other old dried kitchen spice-like aromas retronasally. The tail carries some of the hop bitterness down into the throat but juicy malt sweetness prevails even with a remnant of the initial, more sugary sweetness; the toasted, more bitter effect lingers as well. Not an unpleasant beer, in all: technically decent and perfectly meeting the expectations of an amber-coloured BDG in both looks and general flavour, i.e. very much the same as a Wallonian strong amber, but a tad more ’clean’. This will never be my favorite style and this one is a bit too sweet for me, but all things considered, this is certainly acceptable for what it intends to be.
3.3BOTTLE 33 CL. Clear mahogany, beige creamy head. Fine baked fruit pie crust aroma, some harsher esters too. Taste: fruity, moderate caramel sweetness, fruity, drying and warming alcohol. Light bitter and somewhat salty finish. A good one.
3.4Dark amber color with beige head. Aroma is mostly sweet, malty and sugary with some dried fruits on top. Taste is malty but not as sweet as expected. There is some earthy bitterness as well. Yeast esters and dried fruits complete the picture. Medium body with medium to high effervescence. Not a huge fan of the style but this beer is quite well executed.
3.4Klares orangerot mit wenig Schaum. Malzig, etwas Karamell, Nüsse, leicht fruchtig, würzig, sehr süffig.
3.1Bottle, 0.75l, shared with Gregor. Clear amber brown color with thin soapy tan like head and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of mildly roasted malt, caramel, herbs, yeast and mild medicinal character. Taste starts with medium sweet caramel and mild toasted note, following is slightly fruity and grassy, mouthfeel is rather dry, while finish is medium bitter. Medium body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. Palatable, but a bit too dry for my liking...
Carbonnation moyenne. Trouvée à Cora - Courrières.
3.2bottke bbe7/17 bel ambrato filo velata purtroppo quasi piatta fili ossidata maltato caramello amaro medio lieve riscaldante
3.2Bottle, 33cL. Home. A sparkling amber clear beer with a medium white head ; medium retention. Roast, caramel, herb, sugar, fig, metallic note, nut. Medium sweet, round, light dry refreshing ; bitter note. Medium body, thin texture, average carbonation, sweet roasty finish. Overall, a pleasant sweet amber malty ale.
3.333cl bottle at home on 8th April 2016; poured into a Hoegaarden Grand Cru badged stemmed tulip glass. What a lovely colour, bright Amber with beige top. Malty and alcoholic in nature, semi-sweet yet there is a bitter bite in the flavour also, the nose is all malt, but taste wise it is not one dimensional, like a bitter tasting toffee really with some fruit esters thrown in.
2.9Beautiful ambre color with nice foam head, but foam fades away such quick. Caramel and yeasty aroma, medium sweet but little bit stuffy. Sticky palate
2.9Bue avec Boulinf et Milinf. Arôme et final sur le malt grillé. Légère amertume. Bonne sans plus.
3.3Bottle 33cl. Clear medium amber, small frothy off-white head, diminishing slowly, good lacing; aroma is malty, caramel, candy sugar, fruity (apple, red currant, strawberrie), bit basement; taste is a combination of medium sweet and light bitter, also light sour notes, fruity, toffee, long duration; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, aftertaste is sweetbitter, some tart, spicy notes; nice but not completely satisfying.
3.3Bottle shared with friends - Color: amber clear beer with small carbonation and small white foam. Smell: caramel, malt and sugar. Nice bouquet. Taste: nice caramel well balance with malt. Sweet and yeast finish. Aftertaste: caramel and yeast.
3.7Bottle, 33 cl. Pleasant "bière de garde", well balanced, hints of licorice in aroma?
3.0Dark amber color with a slowly diminishing taupe head. Toasted malt, grain and caramel in the nose. Hints of dried flowers, grass, herbs and resin. Lightly toasted malt in the flavor. Lightly sweet, with more acidity then bitterness for balance. An amber with just a little bit more going on, but nothing real exciting.
2.7Bottle from Calisky - many thanks! The beer has got a deep amber-brown colour with a steady head and medium body. Aroma of bread and malt with some sweetness. Taste of sweet roasted malt, bread, grains, barley, mild hops, flowers and caramel. Hints of dust and herbs. Drinkable, yet probably just not my style.
Correcte.
3.6Bottle from Carrefour, Calais, France. Dark amber coloured with honey and spicy red fruity flavours followed by slight barnyard notes and sweet sugary and slight tart cherry finish.
