Saison Regal

Copper coloured, sparkling with a fine, dense head.
Complex, hop base with fruity touch.
Well pronounced bitterness, appreciated for its thirst-quenching and lightness.

2.9 Bottle at home. Clear amber pour, thin creamy white head. Aroma is earthy, slightly sweet, some spicy malts and a hint of brett. Flavor is quite bitter, some spicy malts, and some cardboard. Quite refreshing, but a bit dull.
3.4 Smells like it might be interesting but it doesn’t quite deliver. If you wanted a session saison though, this would suit. Dense head? Certainly got one of those today. I need to see the sea, missing it today for some bizarre reason.
3.3 33 cl bottle @ hotel room, Beersel. Rated on 17.07.2010 Aroma has soapy citrus, yeasty notes and hints of herbs. Flavour has is somewhat yeasty with citrus, some banana esthers and wheaty notes. This lacks the ’thing’ I look after in saison. Too thin also.
2.7 Pilzeni és müncheni malátát, angol és bajor komlót használnak e sör gyártásánál.Mély borostyán színe gabonaillattal és pici mézzel párosul.Fuszeres jellegét az édesgyökér, ánizs és narancspehely adja.
2.9 25cl bottle from Cotteridge Wines. Copper coloured beer with thick creamy head.Slight traces of malt, yeast and some spice in aroma.Malt and light spicing in taste.Non demanding light beer, pleasant enough taste.
3.3 Bottle: Medium sized vast creamy head on top of an almost hazy orange colored beer. Smell honey, cream, tea, herbs, creamy barley malts. Taste honey, malts, cream, pils malts, some hops, herbs and yeast. Low low carbo, soft light watery mouthfeel, medium body and a light watery texture.
3.0 Bottle @ home. Aroma is murky dusty spices, some bready malt and some yeast. Flavour is dry thin malty with some spice. Boring but quenching is right.
3.1 Bottle from local Yamaya. Yeast! big time in the aroma; also a light honeyish caramel sweetness. Dark yellow-brown, with a big fluffy head, and a whirlwind of carbonation flying up. Initial is also yeasty, sweetish,. candi sugar; mid flattens out into a slurry of sugary paste; final is tingling and leave a bit of spice and bitterness. Too yeasty, really, and over-carbonated. Contains anise and licorice, but they are barely detectable.
3.5 Buona! nulla di eccezzionale ma buona davvero come saison!
3.6 Nice copper/amber color on this saison, thick creamy head with lots of sticky lacing. Poured into tulip glass. Aroma is faint, but taste kicks in with flavors of toffee and whiskey. Perfect for sipping on a Sunday afternoon...
3.8 Bottle from Cellier des Arcades, Arras. A darker Saison of sorts, with a large biege head. Very floral aroma, quite impressive actually, like a good perfume. Flavour has a seriously deep, rich malt character with red grapes and a dry finish. Quite an interesting beer, especially as a Saison. I guess I’m not familiar enough with the style to know the variety within it probably caused largely by all the Ontario versions being glorified Witbiers (no offense OCB, but your Saisons are weak as hell).
3.5 Bottle at 3 Små Rum, Gothenburg. Amber beer with a offwhite head. Citrus, malty, fruity and a bit sourish aroma. Fruity and hoppy flavour.
3.0 Bottle@home, 25cl. Head: cream colored foam. Color: amber. Aroma: tea. Taste: cold tea, some sweet. Palate: watery, not lasting. Overall: not too bad.
3.6 Pours a copper brown, a head is big and beige. Aroma of fruits, some sweetness, spicyness and herbal hoppyness; simple, but tastefull aroma. Taste is (belgian)fruity, some spicyness, hint of sourness and lemon, quite light taste. Light+ bodied, lots of carbonation, but that is smooth. Refeshning and zesty, great aroma, but otherwise slightly light and gentle.
3.4 Bottle @ Delirium Cafe. Hazy amber with a lasting off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, fruity and light yeasty. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 180712
3.3 Bottle @ 3 Små Rum. Pours clear deep golden with a big frothy and fizzy goldenish white head that is rather quick to dissipate while leaving some thick lacing on the glass. Smell is tiny sweet and tiny sour with plums, lime hard candy, hay, dry soil, cereal, lemon zest, grape zest, white pepper, overripe lemons and hints of barnyard. Taste is slightly sweet, very tiny bitter and tiny metallic with cereal, crackers, hay, white pepper, dry soil, lemon zest, grape zest, biscuits, orange zest and hints of wet leaves. Mouthfeel is slightly crisp, round and light to medium bodied. Finish is sweet, tiny bitter and floral with biscuits, grass, dry soil, white pepper and cereal. Quite refreshing.
2.9 Bottle at 3 Små Rum, Göteborg. Thanks to _angst_. Golden beer with a decent white head. Malty fruity perfume aroma, hoppy, spicy notes. Hoppy perfume flavor, spicy, grapefruit, citrus.
2.2 Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks Dima. BBD 1/11. Clear reddish amber. Aroma of malt, honey, cardboard, a bit of fruitiness and grainy hints. Sweet caramel flavor with honey, cardboard, some fruitiness and a drier finish. Light to medium-bodied.
3.0 Brown 75cl cork and caged bottle, best before 11th Oct 2009, drank Sept 2008. Poured into four tulip shaped glasses. Pleasant looking amber colour with a good sized off-white head. Aroma reminded me of toffee and caramel, sweet, but not sickly. Very little taste, it was fairly tart (unlike its smell) and very fizzy, so plenty of carbonisation in there. The body was weak, but it is only 5.5%. I must however say the last glass poured had so much more flavour and aroma than the other three that we almost had a bun fight to decide who had it (I won, because I poured them).
3.2 Bottle. Light amber, hazy, average and fully diminishing head. Light to moderate, malty - faintly wheaty and lightly sweetish aroma, faint fruitiness, light spiciness (pepper, coriander). Body is light to medium, malty - lightly wheaty and lightly sweetish flavor, light spiciness and light yeast. Finish is short to average, malty - lightly wheaty and dryish, light spiciness and faint citrus with light hoppyness. Bit timid saison - could use more body together with more fruitiness/hoppyness.
3.3 33 cl bottle @ Beersel. Rated on 20100717. Pours amber color with large head. Aroma of lemony fruits, yeast, spices, grass and mild caramelly malts. Flavor of fruits, spices, yeast, hay and malts.
3.5 750ml bottle from bierzwerg. Hazy amber color with small head that dont last that long. Flavor is sweet caramel. Easy to drink.
2.4 Pours transparent orange with a small white head. Nose. There is no easy way to say this. It smells like american macro lager. Wet cat food and spoiled malt. Not what I expect from a saison. Flavor is bitter and slightly sweet/sour. Metallic notes too. Mouthfeel is crisp and fizzy, medium length aftertaste. Hope this is just a bad bottle or something, I need to try it again.
3.6 Bottle at Dahlbergs. Helsingborg, March 2012. Thanks to PeaceRich for sharing these. This beer surprised me, expected nothing and got a nice tasty saison! Soft and smooth aroma with mineral notes, wood, grass and cellar notes. Some distant fruity hops in the aroma. Smooth refreshing body and taste with apple notes and a soft taste of malt.
3.9 cereal, bread, spruce, cheese, leather, barnyard, red, golden, minimal head, frothy, heavy cloying sweetness, medium bitterness,
3.6 75cl bottle, BBE 12/2012. Poured slightly hazy amber with a quickly disappearing white head. Medium carbonation. Aroma is light yeasty, fruity, earthy notes. Flavor is yeast, earth, fruits and hops. Quite dry finish with some light fruityness. Not that much flavors, but overall well balanced and very drinkable. Recommended. Would be awesome on a hot summer day.
3.4 75cl bottle. A bit hazy and dark orange with a big dirty head. Nose : weak aromas of bread, grass and leather yeast. Sip : a bit oily with light but lively carbonation. Tastes like a deep pils. Definitely a very good pils with a generous bitter hops and with a royal head. It has a pronounced bread old bread like taste with a bitter hop ending. There is a bit metallic sour aftertaste. Overall it’s an amazing light beer. I will buy it again and surely will be one of my best quench reliever when the heat comes back.
3.2 Clear light amber coloured beer with large white head and lots of carbonation. Fruity aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is malty fruity with sweet and bit alcoholic hints.
3.1 25cl bottle from de Bier Tempel. Pours a hazy amber colour with a thick beige head. Aroma of caramel, banana, white pepper and caramel. Similar flavours with white pepper, banana and wheat and a nice chewy mouth-feel. Moderate carbonation. Not much of a saison, more like a German wheat beer. A long caramel linger.
2.7 Bottle. Amber colour with a small yet lasting head. Aroma is fruity (banana and apples), eau de cologne, a bit less yeasty and malty, yet less hoppy and papery. Some mild phenolic touch can also be detected. Taste is mild and gentle but not watery, though less aromatic than the nose, malty-fruity with a slight phenolic-alcoholic bite and only low hop-bitterness. Drinkable but average.
