Samuel Adams Boston Lager

Samuel Adams Boston Lager

Samuel Adams Boston Lager® is the best example of the fundamental characteristics of a great beer, offering a full, rich flavor that is both balanced and complex. It is brewed using a decoction mash, a time consuming, traditional four vessel brewing process discarded by many contemporary brewers. This process brings forth a rich sweetness from the malt that makes it well worth the effort. Samuel Adams Boston Lager® also uses only the finest of ingredients including two row barley, as well as German Noble aroma hops. The exclusive use of two row barley not only imparts a full, smooth body but also gives the beer a wide spectrum of malt flavor ranging from slightly sweet to caramel to slightly roasted. The Noble hops varieties, Hallertau Mittelfruh and Tettnang Tettnanger, add a wide range of floral, piney and citrus notes, which are present from the aroma, through the flavor, to the lingering smooth finish. We take great pride in the Noble hops used in our beers. They are hand selected by Jim Koch and our other brewers from the world’s oldest hops growing area. Among the world’s most expensive, they cost twenty times as much as other hops.

2.0 Keep drinking turns to a 3 Ipa, stout and regular beer mixed together Kinda hard to ignore bitter buildup.
3.2 For a main stream American beer this is good. Flavors are well blended and have a nice body. Bitter finish. Decent beer.
3.7 25-02-21 // 330ml bottle. First time this classic and I am surprised. Better than expected. Clear amber golden. White head. Aromas of light caramel, mild floral honey, minimal bread, hints of nutty malts and a noble hop aroma. Medium sweet. Lower bitterness.
3.4 Bottle. Pale clear golden color. Quite aromatic. Flavor of grass, grain and caramel. Well balanced bitterness and caramelized malt sweetness.
3.5 거품유지력이 일단 진짜 맘에 든다 맛도 라거치고 맘에 든다 종종 찾게 될듯
3.4 Passe très bien. Douce , légèrement amer vers la fin
3.8 Old rating from 2014 - 330ml bottle, pours caramel with a white head. Aromas & tastes of caramel, grain, citrus, spice, cereal, toffee & malt. Medium body. Well balanced. Clean moderate bitter finish
4.0 Copper color with white head that has good retention. Aroma of grains and corn. The taste is more of the same--grains and corn with a slight bitter note. Palate is full and crisp. carbonation is lively. This is one of my go-to beers I use in cooking so I always have some around. Today I made a refried bean and queso cheese dip. I also use this beer in Chili, stews and pot roasts.
3.5 355 ml bottle. Clear dark golden to amber, foamy head. Caramel, grassy floral hops, tangerine, marzipan, lemon, light metal. Malty sweetness, citrussy metallic bitterness. Medium to full bodied, oily texture texture, lively carbonated, dry bittersweet finish. Very balanced, complex and drinkable!
3.5 Always been one I have been interested in trying. A lot of good things going on here. Would be a great beer that I would get if available with a meal, or also great sitting back and enjoying. Great versatility overall.
3.5 First time trying this and pleasantly surprised. Amber lager with roasted malt profile and some crisp apple sweetness. Not like your standard sweet, insipid cooking lagers but far more interesting.
3.3 Pours pale copper. Has bit more toasted malt base then typical - gives a little structure, a little sweetness. A faint hop bitter note in the finish. Clean, balanced, with a some nuance. I was pleasantly surprised.
3.8 橘色。酒花味。4.7% 01.01.2021
2.4 This beer was suggested by the waiter as the most popular beer from the array of beers at the place. I personally didn’t like it that much.
3.5 From Tesco BS
3.2 Légère mais très bonne
3.5 Nice, with an almond flavour thin head with a rich almond colour
4.1 Discovered this lager and so glad I did Lovely clear pour of a slightly caramel colour. Taste is really good. Like this muchly
3.2 11.10.2017 AR: pfeffrig, leicht pilzig AP: klares bernstein TA: leicht pilzig, pfeffrig
3.0 4.8% 330ml Bottles from Lidl, Wrekenton, Gateshead etc. in 2021, 2020, 2011, 2008, 2005, 2001. Amber coloured with a thin white head of foam. It has a malty, caramel and roasted flavour with a warming almond, toffee and nutty finish. Pretty good.
3.2 Smooth modern take on lager crosses with craft beer, not bad to be fair, worse pints out there
3.1 Pours a clear gold color with a great sticky white head. Aroma is hoppy, quite a bit of malt for a lager, and a bit of spice with caramel, biscuit, and cereal notes. Taste is caramel, malts, grains, spicy hops in the middle, then bitter hops to finish it out. The balance on this beer is what has always impressed me, not too thin like a lot of lagers, but not too thick or heavy to have so much added flavor. Great classic of a beer.
3.7 Bottle 4.8%, brewed under licence in UK by Shepherd Neame who seem to have a foot in everything. My first amber lager. Pours copper with white head and decent retention and lacing. Quite a hoppy citrus aroma when first poured but once settled the nose is more malt, caramel and a little spice. Taste is more more malt based but with citrus, and spice notes. Medium body and soft carbonation. This is very good stuff.
2.3 Adding in my 300 Beers To Try ticks because I want to see how they impact my stats and some of them I will never see again. Will however re-rate them when practical. Never really liked this.
4.0 One of my go to's when I'm indecisive or don't know what I want. It never amazes me but never disappoints. Just a solid beer that I tend to drink more of in the winter but can be enjoyed year-around.
3.9 Cerveza de estilo lager con un ligero toque aromático de lupulo
1.8 Initially good taste, very crisp. But I rather drink ocean water.
2.5 무난한 맛과 향.
3.7 More hoppy than I usually drink but I liked it.
