Samuel Adams Cream Stout

Samuel Adams Cream Stout

Samuel Adams® Cream Stout is a true cream stout, balancing body and sweetness with the natural spiciness of grain and hand selected English hops. Our Brewers use generous portions of roasted chocolate and caramel malts as well as unroasted barley to impart a fullness of body, a roasty malt character and rich, creamy head. Its dark mahogany color make it almost as easy on the eyes as it is on the palate.

3.4 Pours dark red, with medium head and medium retention, coffee aroma, medium body, caramel and roast coffee flavour.
4.0 Pours a deep black color with almost no head. Smells like coffee with some caramel. Very good beer.
3.7 Roasted malt and slight lactose sweet aroma and flavor. Full bodied flavorful beer. Roasted malt with sligh chocholate finish and smooth lactose. Slight sweet flavor but still finishes dry. Very enjoyable. Solid Sam Adams beer.
3.0 How: Bottle. Where: SBWF 2017. Appearance: Dark brown colour with a tan head. Aroma: Caramel, malt, chocolate. Body: Light body, medium carbonation. Flavour: Chocolate, caramel, malt, some fruit.
3.3 When I tried this for the first time, I made the mistake of comparing it to a Guinness. It's it's very own thing, with a nice coffee/chocolate vibe. It's not exactly the smoothest stout but not at all hard to drink. Loved every drop.
3.7 From Nov 2006 Poured from 12oz bottle(room temp-best by Dec 2006) a very dark brown with reddish hues with a smallish head of foam that shrank to a solid layer and then just a fine ring around the edge of the glass with lacing. The smell has abundance of roasted and sweet malt and is quite nice. The taste, initially, has roasted malt and some sweetness followed closely by a nice flavour of dark chocolate that gives it a bitterness that offsets and balances the sweet from this Sweet Stout very well. The finish returns to sweet malt and makes for a very nice aftertaste. Good stuff! I'll see if I can get a hold of a fresher batch and compare... Bottom line: A *very* tasty sample of the style that I can easily recommend.
3.4 Black colour, almost no head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, dark fruits. Sweet dry taste with light bitterness in finish and dry aftertaste. Thin to medium body and average carbonation.
4.1 Samuel Adams Brewers, this is a darn good cream stout! Kick up the aroma and you got a 5. Keep up the great work!
2.5 OK. Didn't care for it at first but by the time I finished it, it warmed up a bit I thought it was Just OK
2.7 Poured from a bottle, dark brown color with a thin off white head. Aroma is milk chocolate with a hint of coffee. Taste is good, milk chocolate and coffee fairly sweet with a watery body and milky coffee finish.
3.3 Chocolate, Cafe
3.3 Pours black with a finger of off-white head. Aroma is smoky with powdered milk chocolate and hints of dark fruit. Flavor is dark musty fruit with smoky malts.
3.2 Bottle - Pours a dark brown to black, off-white head. Aroma of fermented dark bread, coffee, hint of chocolate. Tastes of sweet malts, caramel, toffee, dry chocolate, weak coffee, and scorched muffin top.
3.7 Pours a very dark brown, maybe even black color. Has about two finger brown head. Thick, rocky, good retention, good lacing. Aroma is roasted barley, light coffee. It’s not real strong. Taste is light cream coffee. Maybe some cherry. It’s creamy. A little smoky. A little ash. Mouthfeel is medium bodied. Not as heavy as I would like or expect. Creamy like I said. That ash/smoky taste lingers, and I’m loving that! It’s sessionable. Overall, I started off not really impressed by it. I’m changing my mind. While it may be light in aroma and taste, it’s really making up for it in the palate. Yeah, I would buy it again. I would recommend it also. Good stuff!!
2.9 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a good, latte-colored head. Aroma is roasted, some liquorice, light cacao. Taste is mild, roasty, slight liquorice and cacao. Slightly watery, low carbonation.

2.8 (Bottle, 0.355 l, at Silja Symphony, 20161024) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, creaminess and metal. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, burnt malts, creaminess, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. A decent soft stout. Bit watery.
3.3 Pours dark brown with light beige head. Aroma is creamy, toffee, some chocolate, cocoa, light malts, beans. Taste is light roast, some metal, light bitterness, creamy, coffee, some beans, caramel, dark grapes, milk. Easy to drink beer.
2.0 Rated from old notes that say "burnt, unbalanced, don’t buy this stuff again. 2.0" Probable rerate candidate.
3.6 I poured it from the bottle into a glass. It pours a dark brown and black with a tan head and some lacing. The aroma is coffee and chocolate. The taste is chocolate, milk, coffee, and some burnt sugar. It’s creamy with nice sweetness and bitterness. I haven’t had this one in a while. This is a solid beer.
3.7 Beautiful & delicious - this is a very good offering from Sam Adams! Jet black pour w/ a lasting mocha head & decent lacing. The aroma is a nice mild roastiness. The taste is a tad thin but to be expected from a beer under 5%. The mild & semi sweet choolate & coffee notes are quite tasty! Very drinkable. Lovely!
10/11/11/11/8/11
3.2 355ml bottle @ Old Port Pub, Silja Symphony. Poured near black in color with a thick off white head. Milk, coffee, salty notes and roasted malt. Flavor has nuts, coffee, salty notes and roastedness. Milky slightly dry finish. Ok.
3.5 A roasty malt and coffee aroma with notes of caramel and chocolate. Black with a small white foam. Medium-high sweetness and light bitterness. Average lively carbonation, creamy texture and medium body. Tasteful!
3.2 35,5cl bottle from SuperAlko, Tallinn. Pours very dark brown with a modest, beige head. Roasty aroma with some spicy and slightly wooden notes, chocolate, dark dried fruits and caramel. Medium sweet with roasty flavours and a mild bitterness. Enjoyable.
