3.8 Bottle. 9.2%. No ‘best before’ date, but fairly new. As ’Samuel Adams Imperial Stout’. Pours almost black, with a dark tan head. Good lacing. Heavy aroma; roasted with dark fruits, slightly tart. Light dusty overtone, which takes on a wooden note as it warms. Light chocolate note as it warms. Flavour is roasted with dark fruits as well, with a light liquorice/anise note. Roasted, mildly bitter finish with an alcohol burn, a bit tart. Lingering liquorice/anise note with fledgling hints of chocolate, followed by a hint of green apple. Soft palate. Overall good, but a wee bit cloying in the long run. 05.08.16.

3.4 Flaske. Kulsort let olieret øl. Lidt Soya i både smag og duft. Den er ellers god let brændt fin humling, men den passer bare ikke med soyaen.

4.0 Bottle, 9.2%. Fruity and roasted aroma. Black colour. Small stable brown head. The flavour is roasted and jammy. Creamy with a touch of smoke and salt. Very late mild coffee aftertaste. Creamy to watery mouthfeel. Uncomplicated but good.

3.7 Bottle, bought@Fakta, Kolding. Pours deep opaque black with a large, staying creamy beige head. Aroma has ashy roasted malts, dark chocolate, light astringent. Low, prickly carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has sweet malts, licorice, chocolate, mild roasted malts, a touch of viniousness. Fine,mellow bitterness. Light ashy.

3.7 355 ml bottle from a Fakta discounter. Poured in to a Snifter. Pitch black with a creamy, tanned head. Sweet aroma with roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, caramel malts, liquorice and spicy hints. Taste is sweet. Full body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes slightly dry with roasted notes and chocolate. Lovely Stout. At just 13 DKK this is very hard to beat price-taste wise.

3.8 Bottle. Pours black with a small creamy head. Roast, dried dark fruit, licorice and a whiff of spices - ash/charcoal like notes. Very soft and full bodied. Bitter roasted finish. Bang for the buck!

4.0 Kolsvart med ljusbrunt skum. Doftar och smakar kaffe, choklad och lakrits. Fyllig och oväntat bra!

4.2 Flaske 0,33 liter, fundet i Fakta til 13 kr. En lækker sort sag fra Boston, lige når man hælder den op, bliver man positiv overrasket over at den er helt sort og giver et flot beige farvet skum som bliver liggende i en god rums tid, aromaen er af de gode ristede malte, lidt karamel, let røget og måske lidt tjære duft, den er også sprittet i duften, især i starten, god fylde i munden og jævn god smag i hele munden, den har en god konsistens og en holdbar eftersmag uden at blive for skarp, skal efter min mening nydes kold ca 5 grader. Sikke en god Stout og så for 13 kroner, mums.

3.9 33 cl. bottle. A black beer with a beige head. Aroma and flavour of roasted malt, chocolste, coffee, caramel, dried fruit, licorice and with a bitter finish.

3.6 Flaska från SB. Svart med ljusbrunt skum. Doft av choklad och en del bär. Mjölkig munkänsla med kaffe och choklad i smaken. Sträv kaffebeska.

4.0 Flaska från SB. Svart vätska med tjusigt två fingrar högt brunt, fluffigt skum som lämnar rester. Fruktig doft av körsbär och hallon, fruktigt kaffe, men också choklad och lakrits. Något större kropp, len och fyllig. Fin och balanserad i smaken, med körsbärslikör, kaffe, lakrits, choklad och pumpernickel. Lätt syrlig. Ganska snäll efterbeska. Bra och jämn. En något lite kemisk/plastig ton i smaken som stör, men lyckas inte förstöra helhetsintrycket.

Taste is slightly spicy with black pepper, anis seed, coffee, roasted malts, chocolate and black bread. Full bodied, light carbonation and a slight spiciness accompanying the coffee and chocolate of the aftertaste.

3.9 35cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Black color, dense beige-brown head. Aroma of liquorice, a bit of the promised anise, roasted malts, light ashy, coffee. Flavour of liquorice, some dark chocolate, roasted malts, some caramel, ash, molasses, malty bitter finish with more liquorice (drop). Medium to full bodied, slick. Nothing crazy, just well-made and tasty.

4.3 Bottle from SB 160328. Pitch black body with brown head. Dark roasted coffee, brown molasses and dried prunes in the nose. Dark chocopresso taste with a spicy bitterness and a warming alcohol sweetness. Well balanced and an excellent RIS.

4.1 0,33l bottle from Systembolaget Övertorneå. Pours very dark brown with a low tan head. Aroma is sweet roasted malts with coffee. Flavor is sweet roasted malts, alcohol, chocolate, coffee and hops. Pretty good.

3.8 @ Kristoffers väg 26/3-16. Bottle from Systembolaget. Roasted malty with chocolate and notes of coffee and licorice. Body is medium to full, the finish is roasted with chocolate.

3.9 Bottle from systembolaget. Pours a dark colour beer with a small brownish head. Roasted malts, chocolate and coffee and a beautiful mix. Dry creamy chocolate finish.

3.4 Bottle from Systembolaget. Smell of chocolate, caramel, dark malts and dried fruits. Similar taste with dark bitter chocolate, burned toast and dark malts. Roasted to the point where it feels sour. Slightly boozy but not too bad. A bit rough around the edges and probably needs a year or two to settle down.

3.6 Bottle from systembolaget Nyköping. Opaque black color with tanned small head. Aroma has roasted malt, ripe fruits, syrup. Taste is malty with quite long a bit sweet aftertaste. Flavors of roasted malt, salted licorice, coffee and ripe fruits.
