Samuel Adams Latitude 48 IPA

Samuel Adams Latitude 48 IPA

Samuel Adams® Latitude 48 IPA is a unique IPA brewed with a select blend of hops from top German, English, and American growing regions all located close to the 48th latitude within the “hop belt” of the Northern Hemisphere. The combination of hops in this beer creates a distinctive but not overpowering hop character. The beer is dry hopped with Ahtanum, Simcoe®*, and East Kent Goldings hops for a powerful citrus and earthy aroma. The hop character is balanced by a slight sweetness and full body from the malt blend.

2.5 dark orange, clear, medium white head, spicy-hoppy smell with sharp-cloying high-alpha metallic smell, quite bad smell, medium sweetness, light to medium bitterness, long lasting bitter finish, slightly oily mouthfeel, fizzy carbonation, hoppy taste
3.1 Bottle 33cl. Small white layer. Clear red brown color. Aroma is oak, leaves, peach, wood. Taste is bitter, woody, leafy.
3.5 Bottle. It poured a clear copper color with an off-white head and minimal lacing. The aroma is citrus and earthy notes. The bitter taste is dominated by a pine and citrus flavoring.
3.5 Pours a light pale copper with a long-lasting white foam head. Aroma is citrus, earthy, and pine hops, though very light on the nose. Flavor is caramel, and earthy and citrus hops. Has a light sweetness, and a crisp finish. This is pretty much an under the radar drink that’s not in your face, but refreshing and enjoyable anyway.
3.2 Bouteille: Copper to light amber coloured, almost clear, hardly medium-sized, but creamy and stable off-white head; cough-syrup, soy sauce and nutty traces in the dryish-bitter nose; moderate to solid dry bitter flavour with some sweetish malty spots; medium bodied and still soft, even though a certain tartness is still detectable, no doubt; lingering - hops sticking to the palate - cough-syrupy and herbal hoppy finish, accompanied by toasted malt; warming alcohol in the aftertaste. O.K., but a bit too "cough-syrupy"…
3.2 Bottle. Clear deep amber color with white head. Aroma - Caramel, citrus, malts, pine. Taste - Bittersweet, orange, caramel, spice, pine.
4.0 Bottle. Excellent balance with an old world flair despite the US-hops used. Medium, caramelly body, soft mouthfeel, notes of tea, hoppy-floral but also pervded by red fruit esters. Sweetish, light to medium bitter. Lovely malting. Really awesome stuff, they managed to coin together an English tasting IPA that actually is exciting.
4.1 12oz Flasche. Klare helle Bernsteinfarbe mit schönem Schaum. Fruchtiger Hopfen, grapefruit mit verbranntem Zucker. Schöner runder bitterer Geschmack. Tolle Citrus Frische. Süffig und lecker!
2.1 (5) Average at best. Low hoppy. Not so interesting. Low ball. Too commercial. You know what I mean - where is the soul Samuel?!
2.9 bottle sample at a bar. poured a murky dark yellow colour with a white head. first notice is some weird kind of minthy, eucalyptus notice. wich i mean in a bad not tasty way. followed by crispy malts, presse dcitrus, and grapefruit. pretty refreshing but a weird taste.
3.7 Maker: Boston Beer Company, Boston/Mass., United States *** Beer: Samuel Adams Latitude 48 IPA (bottled, 330ml) *** Style: India Pale Ale (IPA) *** ALC.VOL.: 6.0% *** "Brewed with a select blend of hops from top German, English, and American growing regions all located close to the 48th latitude within the “hop belt” of the Northern Hemisphere. The combination of hops in this beer creates a distinctive but not overpowering hop character." [brewery notes] *** Colour: Deep, slightly hazy amber with a medium, creamy off-white head. *** Nose: Caramel(!), herbs, pine, whiff of citrus. *** Texture: Medium- to full-bodied, not watery at all. Modest carbonation. *** Taste: Herbal and pinewood notes are dominant at the start, together with some unspecified citrus notes and chewy malts. Spicy, too. Medium is a bit resinous, with citric, pine and herbal essences rivaling for dominance. Finish is malty, only modestly bitter - in contrast to the after taste, which emphasizes pinewood. *** Impressions: Very good IPA/APA with a nice balance of hoppy and malty notes. Not a hop monster to be sure! But the malts add flavour and depth, and the herbal notes are interesting. Not *that* much different from their "Rebel IPA".
3.5 Appearance: Clear amber, nice amount of fizzy white head. Aroma: Fruits, hops. Grapefruit? Taste: Lots of hops, good fruits. Slight bitterness in aftertaste. Smooth! Bought: Total Wine (Sterling), 355 ml, $1.99 Info: 14/9-2015, 89/300M, BB: 31/10-2015
3.8 Bottle from bierpost.com Pours an amber colour with a medium-sized off white head. Has a very nice aroma, well hopped, with citrus. Light sweet, medium bitterness. Good level of hoppy dryness. Medium body, texture just a little creamy. Finish is dry. Enjoyable beer.
3.4 (Bottle). Pours a clear deep copper complexion with thick light head. Faint pine aroma. The flavor is piney with some resin bitterness. Long finish. Decent early autumn IPA.
3.2 Bottle split at Reubens flat, Day 3 of RBESG ’15, 22/08/15. Amber copper with a moderate off white covering. Nose is toasted malt, caramel, bitter orange. Taste comprises bitter orange, light pine, caramel malt. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Pedestrian old skool IPA.
3.5 Bottled. Great cooper brown nice foam head. Has a light crisp taste. Hint of fruit hops. Kind a floral after taste.

IPA https://twitter.com/MaekJuBot
3.4 (bottle, 35.5cl) Clear, amber colour with a slightly beige medium-sized foamy head. Mildly biscuity cara-malty aroma with spicy herbal, fruity and delicately woody hops, including notes of grapefruit. Moderately bitter and slightly sweet flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly bready malty base with notes of caramel and a present hoppy blend with notes of grapefruit, herbs and grassy accents; dry-ish bitter-sweet finish with a lingering, mostly spicy herbal hops character. Solid. 24.IV.15
3.4 Bottle camping in France. Hazy orange pour, thin white head. Aroma of fruity hops, some grapefruit, grainy malts, slightly spicy and a bit of alcohol. Flavor is quite bitter, sugary malts and quite spicy. A bit messy.
3.2 Clear reddish orange with light white head. Lemongrass or lemon juice concentrate. Floral and grassy with grapes. Bitter and surprisingly sweet for non-D IPA. Sticky and fizzy.
3.2 Latitude 48 has a beautiful orange-red clear color and a good aroma of fruit and hops. It is not as hoppy as many other IPA’is, on the contrary, is the perfectly balanced between notes of orange, lemon and peach and a semi-dry hoppy bitterness that keeps the aftertaste for a long time.
3.7 Bottle 35,5cl. Amber/orange wit a beige foamy head. Nice aromaof hops with some kind of richness. Quite nice rich body and this nice taste of hops. Definitely a beer in balance. Medium length.
3.5 Copenhagen 19/6 2015. 35,5 cl bottle from SuperBrugsen. Pours golden yellow with foamy white head. Settles as thick layer of foam with solid lacing. Aroma is of fermented sweetbfruit and citrus fruit. Medium carbonation. Taste follows the nose. Sweet fermented fruit with distinct notes of alcohol. Strong hoppy aftertaste of bitterness and citrus and dry finish. Powerful IPA.
3.3 Bottle. Pour is amber with a frothy head, aroma is malty, fruity. Taste is fruity, malty, herbal, bitter. Alright
3.4 Clear amber body with a small white head. Aroma of resin, caramel, lime. Taste is a herbal bitterness that is somewhat dry, there’s a little maltiness in the long finish.
3.8 355 ml bottle@home in tulip glass@approx 6 degrees C.Pours deep amber with a sufficient. Aroma of hops and bread. Surprisingly fullbodied, round taste - a bit like a mix between a dark Belgian, an APA and a British IPA. Plenty of hops but also caramel, christmas cake, bread and malt with a slightly bitter hoppy aftertaste. It is not at all bad and is well balanced in it’s own style. A beer to be enjoyed slowly on a cold day.
