Samuel Adams Little White Rye

Samuel Adams Little White Rye

Innocent yet beguiling, this hazy golden brew appears to be a classic wittier with its bright notes of orange citrus & coriander, but there’s a bit more mischief up its sleeve. Behind its sweet exterior lies an intriguing blend of white sage and rye for an earthly, spicy, and thoroughly refreshing brew.

3.3 nice small but full and lasting head on it, decent smell...similar to blue moon but somehow a bit fuller tasting...slightly heavier taste than you would expect...
2.8 Appearance- Cloudy golden with an average white head, nice lacing Aroma- Wheat, coriander and orange peel. Not sure what white sage is but maybe some of that in there. Flavor- Light, sweet, orange, rye, wheat, spicy
3.6 Bottle from sam adams summer 1/2 case... Orange in color. Big ass head. Looks tempting. Good lacing left on the glass. Strong nose of oranges, flowers, coriander, and sage. Taste is strong on the coriander and sage, light orange, flowers, spices, earthy notes. Sweetness in the after taste. Pretty unique witbier. Good amount of carbonation. Good stuff on a hot day
3.0 Bottle. Ok this beer has more than a hint of sage. I think thats the soapy taste people are getting from this. BUT if you pair it right with say a roast chicken and corn on the cob it could be a good brew.
1.6 Bottle: Golden color with a very light haze. Smell is kinda off. A little like soap. Not a good beer.
2.7 Bottle. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of orange, wheat, some yeast and some spicy notes. Flavor is sweet and fruity work some orange, lime and what. Medium to thin body, average carbonation.
2.9 Bottle 355ml @ Motel Room, Motel 6, Kingman, AZ Pours slightly hazy pale yellow with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, wheat, rye, coriander, orange and floral. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with an average coriander and pepper finish. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.
2.7 Bottle, 12oz. An unclear, golden body with a dense, two-finger off-white head. Some lacings. The aroma is rather soapy, in a ginger-like way. Wheat, coriander and citrus peel, orange. Ok, reading the commercial description, I see there’s white sage in it too, that most definitely makes sense. Medium body, lightly sweetish, with a nice carbonation level. Spices. citrus and wheat in the flavor, some bitterness kicking in towards the end. A quite decent beer, but I can’t say I really appreciate the experimentation, it is too spiced I think. 130819
3.0 Bottle. Pours clear orange with a small white head that dissipates quickly with little lacing. Aroma is wheat, coriander, orange peel. Flavor is light sweet, minimally bitter. I honestly would not place either sage or rye without the label, but there is a bit of a spiciness in the far finish. Light body, low carbonation. Better than I thought it was going to be.
3.4 Bottle from Publix Supermarket, Kissimmee, Florida. This is a pale straw coloured beer with orange and sage flavours, earthy and spicy notes with a smooth, creamy vanilla finish. Very good but I doubt I could drink more than one of these in a session.
3.3 Bottled. Poured cloudy medium golden with a sticky white head. The aroma picked up coriander and salt over soft bready notes. The flavor found bready notes and a touch of honey topped by coriander, salt, and tangy wheat.. finished salty with a kiss of earthy rye and more lime. Lighter-bodied with low-ish carbonation.. a rouch too salty for me, but otherwise very tasty.
3.3 Bottle. Slightly hazy dirty yellow pour with a smaller white head. Sage dominates the aroma and taste, and that’s fine with me. Fun beer!
2.9 Bottle. Light golden with small white head. Aroma of coriander and sage. Light body with citrus notes, coriander and spices. A little too herbal for my tastes.
3.6 ~Strong lemony aroma with perfumey spice and plenty of sage. Refreshing aroma. ~Pours a murky/cloudy orange color with lasting creamy white head. ~Lemony flavor with bready maltiness. Sage and spice throughout. ~Medium light bodied, medium high CO2, spicy lemony finish hat lingers. ~I quite like this beer. Very interesting. I never had anything with sage in it before. Refreshing and enjoyable.
2.4 Yellow pour, standard white head. This was pretty rough around the edges. Dirty spice, watery malts, spent grain, not much hop flavor. Meh.
3.6 Draft. White pepper, ginger, and rye malt aroma. Pale yellow with moderate head. Sweet spicy ginger. lemon, and light rye malt flavor. Nice - would have liked if the rye came out more.
3.7 Draft. Fruity ginger, white grape, and wheat malt aroma. Hazy yellow with a small white head. Spicy wheat malt and fruity ginger flavor. Light body, soft carbonation. I know they brewed this with white sage, but it tastes like ginger to me.
3.0 This beer was all about the sage. Sage dominated the aroma and the taste. Wasn’t horrible, but I wouldn’t run back and have a second one either.
3.6 Part of the Samuel Adams Beers of Summer Variety 12-pack - $13.99 at Publix in Woodstock, Georgia. Appearance: Pours a hazy, light golden body with a smallish, white head. Smell: Subtly sweet-scented aroma with faintly toasted bready malts. Sweetish citrus peel, lightly spicy hops, minor earthiness from the coriander, and, of course, the singular sage. Taste: Lightly bready pale maltiness with a little honeyed sweetness sliding into the juicy orange peel character. Mild, spicy hop character, low bitterness given some aid from the carbonation and additional spicing. Coriander mingled in amongst the welcome white sage flavor. The sage lingers into the aftertaste beyond the crispish, drying finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation. Overall: Enjoyed more than I had anticipated. What can I say, I like a little sage from time to time.
3.1 12oz bottle. Medium white head atop lightly hazed light amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, spicy/rye, some orange, light cotton candy. Aroma is medium sweet, orange, some rye, light candi sugar. Light body, light chalk.
2.9 Though I like witbier and I enjoy rye... this one just wasn’t what I was expecting. Good but could have used more rye in the mix.
3.2 Purchased in the States, part of their 2013 Beers of Summer variety pack. Pours a hazy golden colour with a frothy white head, good retention and thick foamy lace. Great fresh herbal aromas with sage, mint and hints of lemon. Disappears quickly though, leaving some citrus malt. Medium-light bodied with not much finish (attack). The herbal notes are milder in the taste. Again, citrus malt with the spices in the background. The sage barely makes an appearance in the finish, with the grain lingering mildly. I wish the flavours were a little punchier, but still, I like this experimental brew.
2.9 Pours a golden color with thin white head. Smells of lemon syrup, coriander, grain, and sage. Flavor is mostly sweet syrupy lemon at first with some orange peel and coriander. Subtle bitter notes in the middle.
3.1 12 oz bottle from Summer Sampler pack. Nose is coriander, cloves, and citrus. Lightly hazy yellow orange with a small yellow tinged head. flavor is spicy and lightly bitter with the rye in the background.
3.0 Pours a hazy golden with a smaller bubbly white head. Aroma of sage, coriander and lemon. Flavor of sage, coriander, very herbal, light rye, toasted malt.
2.8 slight spice aroma. hazy in appearance with a decent head. taste has slight citrus and spice flavors
3.4 This beer pours a hazy dark golden color with a medium white head that dissipates gradually. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of citrus, spice and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of herbal hops, citrus and toasted malt. The finish is fruity with a citrus and spiced hops aftertaste. Decent overall.
2.4 Bottle courtesy Naka. Pours effervescent yellow with fizzy, 1/2 finger white head. Nose smells like cinnamon and thyme, a touch of lemon. Biscuit and grass, woody notes and a citrus finish. Really awkward, honestly, like finding out Princess Leia is your sister.
3.5 12oz bottle, pours a hazy gold, with white head. Faint aroma of oranges and spices. Taste has some complexity: oranges, coriander, hint of rye, interesting flavor. Well balanced, clean, crisp, and drinkable. A nice Wit brew.
4.1 The sage taste makes this a very enjoyable beer. Leaves a fizzy feel on the tongue that helps bring it to life.
