Samuel Adams Rebel IPA (All through 2016)

Samuel Adams Rebel IPA (All through 2016)

Rebel IPA is brewed with 5 varieties of West coast hops: cascade, simcoe, centennial, chinook, & amarillo. It’s everything we love about West coast style IPA’s. Big citrus & grapefruit flavors with subtle pine notes for a flavorful refreshing brew.

2.7 Bottle from ASDA, Halifax. Pre 2017 bottle. Golden-blonde with a thin head. Fair, but understated within its style. Has a light pale ale texture and taste.
3.4 Smooth, easy going down IPA. Drink either daily or as a night cap. Good aroma and great taste.
4.6 Une IPA d’été! Fraiche, parfaitement houblonnée et équilibrée pour le bord de la piscine ou la bière d’après soccer.
4.0 Great tasting beer if you love hoppy beers! Definitely one of my favs!
3.0 Bottle from a supermarket. Pours amber with a very thin head. It has a hint of cocoa but is otherwise dry and bland. The name suggests something exciting and dangerous- it ain't!
3.4 Clean copper colour with white head. Mild but sweet, malty aroma. Taste hoppy and herbal.
3.5 Looks amazing, long lasting big head. Wasn’t impressed by smell as I could find alcohol and malts more then hops (had it 1 month before its by date) Medium bitter with citrus notes and nothing much more. Liked the body of this IPA as it had quite a bit of it.
4.1 I like this one, shame its nearly gone. Got it because it was reduced. Super hoppy, lots of fruity citrus, not as much grapefruit as expected though, nice. Goes down easy for a 6.5%er though. Another nice North American IPA.
3.4 (Samuel Adams Rebel IPA (All through 2016)) Bottle 355ml at home, served into a shaker, ABV 6.5% Deep orange colour on the body, clear, huge and rising white thick head on top. Aroma has nice citrusy notes, light grapefruit, some floral notes too. Taste has caramel malts, old grass, light citrus, ripe oranges. Medium thin body, good carbonation, quite dry on the palate. Not bad.
3.2 Bottle, short before the best-before. Slightly hazy, amber color, small white head. Fruity smell, berries and tropical fruity. Dry taste, high bitterness. Resinous, dried berries aftertaste. Thin mouthfeel, low carbonation.
3.1 Botella. Golden, medium white head. Malty hoppy herbal aroma. Pleasant malty hoppy herbal dry flavour.
3.0 Interesting flavor. NW hop aroma. Mal tier than a typical NW IPA. Reasonably well balanced like a Sam Adams with hops tossed on. Not bad.
3.3 A 355ml bottle with a notched best before date of March 2018. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass. It was a nice and clear dark orange copper colour with an almost two finger white head with good retention while leaving lots of nice lacing. Aromas of sweet caramel and biscuit malt with hints of grapefruit and pine. Tastes very malty caramel and biscuit, with light pine and grapefruit and some lasting bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a dry-ish finish. Overall not bad, but too malty an IPA for my liking. Apparently the new version of the Rebel IPA they made in 2017 is more tropical fruity and I feel that may be more my thing.

3.0 Golden clear appearance with a short white head. Malty, piney annd hoppy aromas. Taste is citrus, pine and grass.
3.4 Bottle 355 ml / Amstein - St-Légier (CH). Golden amber beer with a short white head and floats. Malted aromas, caramel, tropical and citrusy fruity, peach-apricot. The taste is similar, perfumed with fruity and grassy hop with pine and coated with caramel. Average bitterness and average sweetness, Quite drinkable.
2.7 Not bad, just not a great IPA. Not as hoppy as I would have liked. Quite fizzy/foamy, not a great aroma to it and didn’t improve at all as it warmed up. Drinkable but not hugely enjoyable compared to what else is available at the price I paid (€2.65). 6.5% so getting up there. I need more flavour in my IPA’s so I wouldn’t buy this again - well maybe if it was on special at half price and there weren’t any other IPA’s to choose from. Bought in France May 2017, had a dec 2017 best by date.
3.4 Bottle: Deep golden, hazy, small - but stable - white head; mild to moderate sweet-bitter nose of citric and herbal hops, supported by some secret pale malt with a tinge of toasted malt; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied and soft; lingering and drier herbal-piney finish, again balanced by some malt. Not great, but surely good...
3.3 Golden colour with white foam. Aroma is mostly malts. Taste is hops but not that fresh.
3.1 Pour Orange golf with an off white head. Aroma is orange, grapefruit and peaches. A good sweet and bitter balanced flavour. Decent but nothing special.
3.5 Pours a golden colour. Taste is hoppy with some tropical fruit. Quite oily on the palate
3.1 One of the few decent IPA’s you can find almost anywhere here on the east coast. Nice citrus aroma of grapefruit, lemon and orange zest. Hoppy without being overly bitter. Not quite ’West Coast Style’ but a decent attempt.
3.1 Decent IPA. Get a lot of citrus in the flavor and aroma but not much else.
3.8 355ml bottle from Tesco. Small white head lasts well, good lacing. Clear amber body. Subtle pine nose, bread, biscuit. Flavour is grapefruit, a little pine, toffee, decent bitterness on the finish with lingering toffee sweetness. Medium carbonation, sharp on the tongue, a little creaminess in the mouthfeel. Very good.
3.6 355 ml bottle. Medium head which last for while. Golden color. Taste : not complex but interesting. Lots of pine notes. Good IPA.
3.3 Aus der Flasche getrunken (Händlerlieferung). Klares Altgold mit viel Schaum im Glas. In der Nase komplexe Fruchtaromen. Im Antrunk kommt etwas Nadelwald dazu. Später leicht wässrig werdend.
2.4 12 oz. bottle. Clear amber, foamy off white head. Aroma was citrus, fruity, pine. Taste was moderate bitter, hoppy pine, pine needles.
3.4 Bouteille achetée chez Intercaves. Notes d’agrumes prononcées avec un long final houblonné à l’amertume bien équilibrée.
