Samuel Adams Rebel IPA - Grapefruit

Samuel Adams Rebel IPA - Grapefruit

Samuel Adams Rebel Grapefruit IPA is the newest addition to the Rebel family of IPAs, which are brewed to showcase a wide range of hop intensities and characteristics. Rebel Grapefruit is brewed with real grapefruit for a big punch of citrus that amplifies the tropical fruit and citrus notes of one of the Sam Adams brewers’ favorite West Coast hops, Mosaic.

4.0 It's a nice change of pace for a cross between IPA and fruit beer. It's refreshing but not to fruity
3.2 Light orange pour. Citrus and grapefruit peel aroma. The grapefruit is overpowering in the taste. Can’t taste much else besides a bit of the hops
3.1 Bottle - Pours a hazy golden/orange with a quickly dissipating head. Citrus, grapefruit, aroma with some malt. Nice mouthfeel with malt and sweet then sour citrus, and a slightly bitter finish. OK IPA.
3.7 16oz can purchased in Florida Just as advertised - it is a grapefruit IPA. Very tart - but good Probably couldn’t drink too many in a row
3.7 355ml can. Golden, cloudy. Thin creamy white head. Nose has soft grapefruit. Taste - juicy, grapefruit, pithy. Ends with bitter citrus peel hops and an oily citrusy kick. Nicely done.
3.7 Thin frothy white head of varying sized bubbles. Hops smack you in the nose. Lots of citrus and grapefruit. Light grains and malts present also. Color is a medium orange. Heavy grapefruit bitterness in the flavor. Lingering bitter grapefruit pith, mild malts, orange peel and some dried grains. Bit chalky on the palate with very zipper carbonation and bitterness in the mouth. A pretty good and very bitter IPA.
3.8 35.5cl can. semi hazy orange color. medium white head. hops, grape, citrus, hint of pine. medium bitterness. medium carbonation. well balanced and refreshing.
2.9 Pours gold with a orange hazy hue and a finger of white head. Aroma is sweet grapefruit and passion fruit. Flavor is more passion fruit with a bitter finish and a slightly off flavor towards the end.
3.4 Bottle. Pours a golden color with a small white head. Aroma of grapefruit and citrus. Bitter with a bit of tartness. Not bad.
5.0 Hazy, cloudy bright orange with frothy head. Overwhelming delicious sweet smell of wheat and citrus. Very balanced with smooth hops and a tart hint of grapefruit. Not overly hoppy and not overly sweet, actually one of my new favorites when it comes to a fruity IPA.
3.1 6 pk at 7-eleven. Same appearance as regular Rebel IPA. Super citrusy aroma, with hints of pine. Can definitely taste the grapefruit (pretty much masks any other flavors ). Crisp and refreshing; excellent Summer time beer.
3.5 12oz bottle pours cloudy orange with white head aroma is all grapefruit taste is zest and and slight pine refreshing
3.4 Poured golden, with a thin, frothy head. Citrus aroma. Taste is grapefruit (of course), orange rind.
3.5 Pours a reddish-gold, with good-sized head. Lots of citrus in the aroma and flavor. The grapefruit is a nice touch--not too much, just pushing the natural citrus flavors forward a bit more. Pretty good IPA.
3.2 16 oz can pours amber with a white head. Aroma of grapefruit, tropical fruit and caramel. Taste is grapefruit and bitter citrus hops
4.4 Pours a burnt orange color with a one finger white head. Dissipates quickly leaving a bit of lace. Smells of big juicy grapefruit and a bit resin and spice. Taste follows nose with the grapefruit coming through as well as some malt backbone. Nothing off or unpleasant. Long bitey finish. Very good and refreshing.
4.3 Poured from a 16 OZ can into a pint glass at Taco Mac in Atlanta. The appearance is a hazy gold color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is grapefruit and citrus hops. An excellent summertime brew.
2.9 12 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy, golden, yellow with a white head that is frothy and last forever. It has an overwhelming scent of grapefruit and hops. The taste is very bitter when it is ice cold, but as it warms it sweetens nicely without becoming overly sweet. Flavors of grapefruit dominate, but there are undertones of citrus peel. It is medium bodied with a thin texture and average carbonation. Finish is long and on the bitter side. Overall, an okay beer. It is a typical IPA (very hoppy) with a pleasant amount of grapefruit flavor.
3.3 Not bad spin on the original. Aromas and flavors of grapefruit and other tropical hops. Slight sweetness but very citrusy. Nice color and feel.
3.3 (12oz bottle) AROMA: green hops, grapefruit, soft biscuit and toast. APPEARANCE: medium gold, slightly cloudy, good visible carbonation, thick head of white foam.. TASTE: light roasted grain, some sweetness, citrus peel and grapefruit, some sour fruit and then bitterness. PALATE: smooth, soft, medium body, creamy, average follow thru. OVERALL: an ok IPA. Don’t really notice that grapefruit was added ... Mostly mimics/enhances the hoppiness. Maybe a little bit light or unbalanced, but an easy drink, refreshing IPA.
2.9 Hazy orange and golden sunzhsine color with a sustainable head of white foam. Tastes like tang dissolved into a weak ipa. Not very good even coming out of a can. Looks good, tastes lame.
3.3 Pours a three finger white head that fades quickly to a thin layer leaving some lace. Clear, pale amber color. Good carbonation and light-medium bodied. Grapefruit hop nose and flavor follows tart citrusy grapefruit, with light bitter after taste. In $9.99 6-pak Shaw’s Supermarket Concord, NH. Best by Jan 2017.
3.2 Bottled. Hazy goldeny orange colour with a mediumsized white head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is big time grapefruit along with grass and some sweet maltiness. Flavour is zesty, some slight nectar and bitterness along with some bready/grainy/earthy notes.
3.8 Bottle. Moderate roasted and light caramel for the malt, moderate pine for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with notes of grapefruit, butterscotch and pineapple in the background. Head is small, wispy, off-white, with some slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy medium amber/orange. Flavor starts lightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then the long finish is lightly acidic and moderately to heavily bitter. Palate is light to medium, slick with a lively carbonation. Despite the average ratings of this IPA, I believe it’s a complex and flavorful beer.
3.5 can has a massive amount of grapefruit juice and tartness up front. was it warms the tartness disipates. bitterness is okay. medium body and loads of vitamin to fight of colds.
3.3 Quite fruity. There is certainly citrus, but it’s more than that. Mango and melon, perhaps. Leads to a pine and resin hops, slightly bitter, but it fades through the finish.
3.8 12oz bottle pours with a near clear deep gold body that supports a thin white head. The modest aroma offers up some dank onion, a bit of grassiness and then it gets into a somewhat soft citrus juice sensation that peters out at the end of the draw. The taste delivers similar notes such as spicy bitter dank onion like hoppiness and then growing grapefruit juice that starts to get into a bit of a candy like sweetness and then getting more fresh and slightly earthy and organic like to midway. The grapefruit juiciness persists into the finish as a mild sweet bready note is noticed. Nice fresh and fairly spry IPA.
3.7 From a bottle. Big grapefruit aroma and enough in the flavour to add to the hops, good stuff.
3.1 12oz bottle from a grocery store in TX Pours clear golden with a small white head, some lacing. Aroma is fruity and grapefruit. Flavor of pink grapefruit, bitter and citrus peel Ok
1.7 Spiky, almost caustic, with a flat, nondescript malt body and a lingering bitterness made unpleasant by the grapefruit bite fighting for dominance with the hops. Resinous pine on the finish, maybe a little citrus on the front, but manoman is this beer hard to drink.
