Pale gold in color; Malty and crisp with a definite malty/cereal note and an elegant, balanced hop spiciness.

2.7Overall Impression:
I use to like this one more, it’s a warm weather beer, light, citrusy, session ale...take that for what it’s worth.
3.2Pours a hazzy golden color with a white head which dissipatse relatively quickly, but leaves some lacing on the glass.
The aroma is that of wheat, grains, and a lemon/citrus aroma. The taste is of grain, lemons, and spices.
Nice beer, well balanced like most Sam Adams products.
3.112 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy gold flavor with not much of a head. Fresh, lemony wheat aroma (though not particularly strong). Lemony hop taste, outside of the normal wheat flavor. Not a bad Adams offering, not as good as the Winter Lager. Interestingly, though, I despise the Sam Adams Boston Lager but find the seasonals enjoyable at the very least.
2.8Draft. Poured a hazy gold color with white head. The aroma was wheaty with a citrus overtone. The flavor was alright, a little watered down, but drinkable. It did have a little bit of a hoppy bite in the finish, but not what I expected.
2.6My first of this style of beer. Not very impressed.....definitely had some cereal undertones that I did not find pleasant. Aroma was unremarkable. I wouldn’t get this again.
2.6Large mug (22 oz) on tap at Wild Wingz Cafe, Jacksonville. Pale golden and hazy beer. Fresh grassy and light citrus aroma. Flavor is thin and lemony citric. Drinkable but not inspiring. Not tasty enough to merit a second round, even for a session while watching a basketball game on big screen. The regular Sam Adams Boston Lager was more flavorful and enjoyable. Disappointing.
2.812oz bottle. Pours a light copper color with a thin, fizzy head. Floral hops and a grainy aroma. Has a thin to medium body, the hops are noticed throughout, some light malt and a bit grainy towards the finish. Not an excellent kolsch, but a great thirst quencher indeed.
2.8Pours rather pale and minimal head retetion. The aroma is of hops and some citrusy fruits. The hops are not very noticeable in the flavor but has a bit of stringent bitter finish. Not a very nice beer in my opinion.
2.0Pours a light color, slightly hazy, chardonnay like. Head is fizzily but not long lasting. Aroma is fresh, grassy, lemon and wheat. Taste is very mild, a little fresh cut grass and lemon floating in oatmeal soda water. Not my idea of a good time. I just realized I am disappointed by nearly every spring ale I drink.
3.7One of my favorite BBC varietals and I was sad to see it shelved. It was clean and refreshing, perfect for the warmer days of spring. Here’s hoping they bring it back. Cheers!
2.0A thin head and faint hoppy aroma are tipoffs to the weak flavor. Not much to recommend here.
2.6Pours a light golden color into the mug, with a light frothy head, nice little fruity aroma, bready malt background. I hate to be a style nazi, but this far pails in comparison to what a kolsch should taste like. It is very very light, and so far very few of their beers are really true to style.
4.0Replaced by the White Ale. Crisp and very refreshing just as the White. A nice balance of the hops and spices. Very good but vey shrt lives The Summer Ale is out before you know it (early April). No complaints here!
3.07/19/2004. Goden, light bodied ale topped by a medium white head with some lacing. Fruity aroma and flavor with only a little bit of hops mixed in. I was a little disappointed but it’s plenty refreshing to get the job done.
2.8On tap, pours a cloudy blond with a decent white head. Nice herb and citrus aroma. The beer itself seems a little thin, but it is easily drinkable. Some citrus to the flavor, decent kolsch.
3.0Pours a hazy pumpkin-amber with a white head. Active, fast carbonation. On the nose, a good amount of citrus (lemon and orange peel), mellow herbs, maybe some mint?, and some sweet spice (perhaps cinnamon?). Light-medium body with good carbonation makes it drinkable in nice weather. On the palate, refreshing citrus, and more exotic spice (coriander, black pepper) than on the nose.
Overall, quite a refreshing beer. Its complexity is clearly from cogeners rather than grain and hops, but it’s not too in-your-face artificial and overpowering. A nice beer for a summer day.
2.6Tap at Dempseys: Golden with a dense white head. Nose has some rotted fruit skin notes with a marmalade sweetness. Velvety feel with a ripe apple, fruity sweetness followed by that typical Sam Adams grainy malt character. Pretty boring.
2.6Well this beer should be better than it is. Cloudy and blond with a light colored head. Has some hints of lemon and a tart weird finish. Not the best of beers.
2.1Barely drinkable, hazy lite golden pour with descent sized white froathy head. Aroma of lite hop, grassy earthy dirt flavors and aroma. Too much of that earthy taste combined with an over zealous lemon zest to it.
2.8Looks like apple juice. light white head. very light fruity hop aroma. Nothing speacial in flavor.
3.1[Samuel Adams Seasonal]
Draught at Foley’s NY (Manhattan - NY).
Blond clearly color with light fizz bronze reflex. Light and rather fine head. Fresh even if rather light aroma with flowery rumors and dampen wood. Sweetish taste with aromas of clear dry grape, mildew and stum. Much "young" and with enunciates notes of leavens.
2.4A mild to light body with a fresh and light hoppy aroma. A wheaty taste with a springy mix.
3.112 oz, best by date notch: June. Slightly cloudy, golden-apple cider appearance, with large white, lasting head that leave somes foamy lace. Aroma is corn lagerish with some cereal (rye ?), yeast, coriander and a citrus hint. Taste is dry rye, with some hops and citrus, but overall fairly neutral. Slight wheat aftertaste is nice. Palate is light, but very nice for a spring seasonal trying to take over some of the industrial session-pilsner market. Good choice when Fudd and Duff occupy 4 of 5 taps.
3.2Outside of the SA winter ale, probably my favorite of the seasonal brew. Has a nice hoppy flavor that is not as harsh as the winter brew but not as sweet as the summer. A nice brew
3.7Golden color with a smooth finish
Easy beer to consume on hot days
Another solid beer form SA
3.0This is one of my least favorite Sam Adams. The body looks good(murky yellow) and the initial taste is pleasing but the after taste really bothered me. I had it on draft and bottle. This has been replaced now by White Ale as the spring brew.
3.1A very refreshing Sam Adams’. Hazy yellow in color. Lemony aroma. Creamy texture. dry finish
3.0Draft. Golden color. Lemony flavors with some cream. From what I remember, it was a little dry, but it was pretty good.
3.4Pours almost yellow with a thin splash of bubbles. Smells grapey with some pilsner like malt qualities. Tastes lemony with some nutty elements present.
3.6Served as a golden/copper/wheat, thick hazed with an ultra-creamy white head that left moderate lace. Mild yeasts with floral notes in the aroma. Creamy & lemony with thick yeasts above a hearty wheat background. Floral hints here as well with sweet muffin notes. Very refreshing and much better than I’d expected.
