Samuel Adams Whitewater IPA

Samuel Adams Whitewater IPA

Sam Adams Whitewater IPA. A wheat ale brewed with apricots & spices.

This hazy brew combines the crisp character of a white ale with the intense pine and citrus flavors of an India Pale Ale. We took the unique combination to a new level with the sublet addition of apricots, which provide a slight sweetness to balance the bitterness of the hops. Cheers!

3.2 Busting with flavor!! Very nice white IPA, usually im not a huge fan of this style but this beer was a lot of fun!
3.3 This is the first white IPA I have tried. Using a wheat base really works well in this particular recipe. It mutes the hops to achieve a good balance on the palate. The hint of sweet apricot on the finish is pleasant. I like this brew.
2.9 Hazy orange-gold with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Nose is faint apricot and hops. Rich mouthfeel. Very bitter. Mildly sweet and fruity. Light sour. Some bread aroma. Improves as it warms up. Would’ve rated it higher if it weren’t so bitter.
3.7 Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a slightly murky gold colored beer with a small white head. The aroma is fairly hoppy smelling with some citrus. The taste is heavy on citrus (a good thing) and has a small hop bite.
3.4 Pours a nice deep amber color. Aromas of hops/caramel/citrus. Strong hop flavors with malts and a nice finish.
3.3 Bottle. A dark straw golden color with a white head. Hoppy citrus notes with a moderate bitterness level.
2.5 Nice tast spicy hints of apricots witch is cool pine lemon feel deff hit your pallett u can tast the IPA part of it and deff no it’s unfiltered type of brew my opinion amazing beer if u like unfilted and IPA beers cheers
3.6 12oz bottle - Pours a golden yellow/orange...with a white head. Fruity nose. Some sour dough and grapefruit in the first sip...with a grassy bitter hops finish. Better than some.
2.0 Not the worst thing I’ve drank but not a fan of most IPAs, so take this rating for what its worth. A little low ABV for an IPA. As a wheat beer, I was hoping to have some of that flavor, but the hops just overpower it.
3.4 May 2nd, 2014 - Part of a Samuel Adams box from Costco, the Whitewater IPA is better than most common across-the-US availability style IPAs, bright and with an orange glow, and a fairly standard head. A flowery hops defines the aroma (appropriate for Springtime), and the flavor expresses on the sweeter side, though clearly with a hop side, too. The aftertaste is long and lingering, inviting the sipper to savor, and for what it’s worth, I’m pleased that this gentle IPA occupies so much real estate in my Samuel Adams beer box.
3.9 I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments.
4.0 12oz Flasche. Trübes orangefarbenes Bier mit festem Schaum. Kräuter, gewürze und Hefeduft mit fruchtiger Nuance. Toller Geschmack. Erst die Gewürze, dann die Hefe und im Abgang die leicht bittere Aprikose. Ungewöhnlich!
2.1 12 oz bottle. Pours hazy with white head that stays. Taste was bitter. Not a favorite.
3.4 12oz bottle. Hazy orange with things white head of tight white bubbles. Lacing is nice. Sweet and spicy aroma. Flavors are more spicy and just a hint of fruity sweetness.
4.6 Great beer has just the right hops. Samuel Adams hopology great collection. Whitewater IPA
2.9 Thick beverage with an interesting tart bitterness. Too heavy on the apricots and too much perfume to be worth returning to.
3.3 Pours cloudy golden color with white head. Aroma is citrus and pine with yeasty fruitiness. Flavor starts a grainy malt followed with some fruit and citrus flavors. Finishing with pine and yeast spiciness.
3.3 Bottle. A- Citrus, stone fruits, pine, hoppy, floral. A- Yellow orange color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Bitter, citrus, apricot, pine, creamy. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- A good fresh tasting IPA. Loads of citrus and pine. Very well balanced and easy to drink. I can do this one.
3.9 Interesting combination of the wheat beer and the IPA hops. It’s good and very easy to drink. Works well in their mix IPA hopology six pack but I wouldn’t seek it out individually.
3.5 Pours hazy rich gold with a very foamy, leggy head. Aroma is floral, orange and pine with a touch of spice. Very nice. Taste starts short but gains some depth with warming. Leads with bitter notes flavors of piney hope, grapefruit citrus, pepper. Apricot and spices linger. Pretty damn good.
3.3 "great concept, so so execution. wit, ipa, and fruit flavors combine for a tasty brew that would be better suited for late spring or summer than the first week of winter. sa white is not a favorite...the ipa aroma and bitter flavor are done fairly well, the sweet apricot maybe masks some complexity and with 3 things going on at the same time, it’s a little muddled. that said, it nice, but i had hogh hopes."
4.0 Pours out to a creamy white head that laces. Color is a hazy yellow-orange. Aroma is fruity and citrus and pine as you would expect. it smells great. Flavor is what you would e expect from an apricot IPA and more: complex fruits, malts, and hop flavors of pine, apricot. Good call.
4.0 Pours to a cloudy orange leaving medium suds with decent head. Aroma is of citrus and a hit of something floral. Truly does taste like grapefruit but has a good bite but nothing to overwhelming. leaves aftertaste that lingers
3.1 Draft at Outback. Nose is citrus, light pine, and caramel. Clear yellow orange with a medium off white head. Flavor is lightly bitter with a light malty background. Decent beer for a place with almost all macros.
3.3 On tap, poured a hazy golden hue w/ a medium white head diminishing to a thin cap. Moderate spicy citrus aroma. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a bold bitter finish. Tastes are white grapefruit, apricot, lemon, coriander, pine and grass. Medium bodied and balanced mouthfeel.
4.5 On tap at old chicago. Medium to large head. Smooth taste. Probably the best that I’ve had from Sam Adams
3.4 Best of the SA six pack of IPAs. Slightly more IPA than witbier I think, but a combination of both. Citrus hops, juicy fruits. I’m not sure how much the yeast brings to the table, as the orange peel and apricot take over that territory. Of course, not much in the way of malt. Long afterglow that reminds me vaguely of Gruyere.
3.4 Orange color , big white head with good lacing. Aroma of pine , spices and hint of apricots . Hoppy , fruity taste with spices . Strong hoppy bitterness in finish and aftertaste. All is good , but ....
4.0 Appearance has a golden orange hue supporting a healthy head that sticks around a bit leaving nice lace. Smell of the apricots and spice with malt and hop. Taste is fruity, hoppy with a nice grapefruit citric having a good malt backbone. Mouthfeel is medium light with good carbonation.
2.5 This had the aroma of an unfinished, still fermenting wine. Spices and fruits do not belong in beer. Not for me.
