3.5 Aroma: caramel, honey, earthy and floral hop. Appearance: mildly hazy dark amber color with a two-fingered dark beige head. Taste: caramel, honey, earthy and floral hop, medium sweetness, medium-high bitterness Palate: medium body, medium carbonation, dry finish Overall: It balances towards bitterness and dryness. Drinkability is not as good as other ESBs because of its high dryness. The hop aroma is quite different from those I’ve had before, where citrus flavor is weaker and earthy characteristics are more noticeable.
3.9 Bottle online from Beersniffers. Pours an almost clear copper/orange colour with a thinnish throthy off-white head. Aromas of citrus fruits, marmalade, tea, caramel and floral hops.Taste has the same notes again with some added citrus pith. Medium to full body with a smooth oily mouthfeel. Very nice.
Z kolei w smaku chmiel daje o sobie znać. Goryczka wyraźna, przyjemnie zalegająca.
3.6 The aroma is floral, slightly malty. Intense amber color, transparent with a slight white foam. On the palate there is a bit of grass, malt, bitter aftertaste. The body is leaner, the carbonation is average.
3.0 Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 12C). Bottle 35.5 cl - Batch L20210 (BBF JAN22). AROMA: medium-low grassy-like hop aroma. medium-low malt background with a caramelly character. medim diacetyl presence. APPEARANCE: amber color and cristal clear. medium-low beige head with medium retention. TASTE: initial medium-low hop notes (orange-like, some pine and grassy). medium-low malty background with a caramelly character. medium-low diacetyl. medium-high to high bitterness with a dry and bitter finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium to medium-light body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: a somewhat average english IPA with a distracting diacetyl presence.
Charakterystyczny brytyjski pełny i lekki słód i surowy chmiel.

3.3 Tight white head stayed on a well carbonated dark amber body. Minimal malt aroma. Medium bodied, sharp & clean. Tangy citrus, lightly hopped, pithy & caramel tastes with a bitter finish. Decent Quaffer
3.7 Bottle at pizzeria da stecca brendola. Copper color thick fine offwhite head. Flavor of roasted pale malts and grassy hops, black tea, light citrus. Light to medium body, watery texture, average carbonation. Taste ia crisp, clean, fresh, relatively rich and intensely bitter. Finish dry, clean, bitter.
4.1 550ml bottle brewed in England at 5%. Clear rich orange with a good-sized and duration head. Slightly jammy tangerine and raisin aroma. Moderate carbonation, robust texture. Tangy sweet and thick tangerine with definite leafy-resin character, and a slight toffee malt finish with some drying herbaceous bitterness. A hoppier version of their Pale Ale, in a sense, but the malt may perhaps be less sweet too (or it could just be the contrast showing). Rustic old-fashioned English IPA, a real treat, up there with Fuller's Bengal Lancer for sure, and at a modest ABV to boot. Bottle a couple of months past the Best Before; seems fine. Very tasty indeed, from a highly-touted (by me!) brewery.
3.0 500ml bottle from Beers of Europe, King’s Lynn and drunk on 23/10/2009. A malty beer, but with some peppery and piney hop notes. Slightly savoury flavour.
3.3 Amber color with a fine fine foam. Nose. Weak, with sweet notes of tropical fruits and a little flowery. Taste. Dry, malt, hops, notes of tropical fruits, caramel. The aftertaste has good hop bitterness and a bit of wood. Perfectly balanced in the taste of El. Very nice to drink.
3.4 550ml (5%) shared with JohnRMurdoch at home on 2 Jun 2020, purchased on 15 May 2020 (bbe Mar 2021): grassy, toffee aroma, pale amber, good foamy cream head, pretty pattern of spotty lacing, toffee, nutty malt flavour, light minerals, floral malty aftertaste.
3.5 Fles 55cl thuis gedeeld. Licht oily, bitters, malttonen, fruitig. (21-5-2020).
3.5 A lovely rich amber colour. A strong hoppy taste with a smooth bitter finish. A solid IPA.
3.4 Clear golden appearance. Aroma is malt and biscuit. Flavour is caramel, bitter, sweet, malt and spiced.
3.3 Bottle. Surprised it's not rated. Nose is floral, hints of sweet pear drops, herbal hop, butter scotch. Taste is herbal, lightly bitter hop, malty, caramel, hints of bitter lemon (perhaps anise as suggested below), spice, hint of marmalade, slight sour tone. Solid,
3.6 Pours to a nice slightly hazy amber with a slight red tint. Strong nose, floral, pear, banana, floral. Nice mouth, hoppy malt up front, with a nice lingering citrusy hop flavour. Very balanced and not such a hop bomb, but good for it. Like it.
3.0 Hmm. This was on keg and I'm sure it said India Pale Ale. Angel, Holborn. Pressed a random button and somehow deletes my whole raying. Cannot be bothered to type it up again. Attractive amber with a big creamy foamy white head. There's malts and a hint of citrus but overall it's a quinine bomb. With an odd 'off' sour edge. Did not finish it.
3.5 Cask @ Cock Tavern, London. Pours clear dark orange with a white head. Aromas of orange marmelade, floral and sweet malt. Flavours of malt, ripe fruit, grass and biscuits. Medium bitterness. Clean and fresh.
3.3 Bready biscuity malt with floral hop, some glass bottle. Pours an orange hazy amber with small creamy white head Floral citrus hop flavor, grassy, earthy, with light bready malt. Medium bodied with medium CO2, lingering floral hop flavor. Enjoyable English style ipa.
1.8 Bought Nov 8, 2019, at 'Gastronom', Izhevsk, Russia. Best before date 08-2020. A very basic beer, not memorable by any means. Transparent, amber colored, with small white head. Soft, muted bitter taste without a single note of anything else, with slightly unpleasant aftertaste, without any distinct aroma. I can't recommend it.
5.0 Great India Ale. The best India Ale I have drunken so far.
2.5 Bottiglia.
3.3 Erg lekker! Fris met toch een hoppig koffievleugje. Precies goed!
3.0 550ml bottle at the Bicentenary Bar, Lords on 14-Aug-2019. Hazy copper coloured with a small white head. Medium body with soft carbonation. Taste of malt, caramel, dark fruit, biscuit and spices. Pretty straightforward ESB.
4.1 Beautiful lasting foam and a lovely aroma that first makes me think peaches, but on closer attempts to form me a real impression also offers a little caramel and a unique aroma hop that sets expectations high. The taste is barely as hoped as expected and it gives way to a slightly sweet malted taste of caramel and crispy rye biscuits, while the hops are nicely balanced with citrus, peach and maybe I'm completely wrong, but isn't there a little discreet anise towards the end as well? All in all, a very tasty and quite typical IPA which I think is very authentic to the history of the beer type. It is just such a lovely IPA that sets a fine point for a busy work week and which is exciting to enjoy right up until the bottom.
2.8 Color anaranjado claro cone spuma blanca. Aroma ligeramente cítrico y acaramelado. Sabor con lever amargor. Final algo frutal, leve amarga y seca al paldar.
