3.4 I guess it's an okay beer and if you want to support organic that's a plus but there's not a whole lot going on here. Had a nice off White head that lasts a while and some lace, color is clear amber. Aroma is Malt & fruit. Flavor is like aroma not very complex straightforward some carbonic tang, a little bitterness that's about it. Body is decent.
3.0 Bottle at home from backlog notes. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have bready malts, grass, light caramel, almost buttery so maybe toffee, light earthy hops, grainy, fairly basic, read boring beer.
2.8 Bon color i bon escuma, pel que fa a l’aroma és bastant fluixet i en gust és un pel aigualida. Buen color y buena espuma, el aroma es flojo y en gusto un pelo aguada.
3.4 The appearance has a hazy golden/blonde colored body with a one and a half fingered white foamy head that dies within about a minute leaving some nice clingy creamy looking lacing. Light carbonation is seen rising at a moderate pace. The smell is mainly sweet through the malt and the grain coming through in a clean yet somewhat soapy way like most English Bitters do, also I got some light corn as well. The taste is sweet through the English malts and gives off a creamy English malty aftertaste that just clings around the mouth. She has a dry bitter (but in that English sort of way) finish. On the palate, she sits a light to medium on the body, comes across somewhat sessionable, and has a carbonation that is actually somewhat smooth and ends up showing a nice creamy sort of aspect that I usually get when I have an English bitter. Overall, wow with the extremely low ABV, one would think this would be extremely sessionable however, because the way it sits on my mouth, its not as sessionable as one would think as there seems to be just enough to give it a heavier sort of feel. I would most likely want this again with some fish and chips.
3.1 pours unclear light orange with a small white cap, some retention and lacing. lightly doughy and breadied toasted nutty caramel malts, mild fruity notes - juniper berries, bitter herbs, chalky, hint of metal, mild earthy ntoes. smooth mouthfeel, clean yeast. moderate carbonation, light body, dry herbal-grassy and slightly astringent finish. like a slightly watered down version of their pale ale. no flaws but a tad boring. ok.
3.1 Ins Glas ergießt sich ein bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig, Karamell, fruchtig. Geschmack trocken fruchtig, malzig, Karamell.
3.6 I liked this bitter quit a bit. Mild and a bit watery, but the malty body and light fruity aftertaste were nice.
2.2 Pour from bottle in Cottage Grove Wisconsin. Amber pour with good off white head. Smells malty and is with a light but unsatisfying bitter finish. Weird fruity sweetness. No good for me...
4.0 Appearance: pours a thick, sudsy cream colored head that recedes slowly with mild lacing. Color is a mostly clear rich amber with moderate carbonation streaming. Aroma: raisins, apricots, toffee, yeast rolls. Mouthfeel: light bodied with a bit of ale fluffiness and a mostly dry finish. Flavor: initial flavor is the sweet barley malt-- toffee, caramel, and white bread. The middle has some butterscotch and fruity esters with a earthy hop bite in the finish.
3.0 Bottle. Amber body. Medium white head. Red fruit, hops, malt, spice. Bittersweet. Dry finish.
3.7 Amber color , with mid-sized off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt and fruits. Taste of roasted caramel with bitter hoppy finish. Long bittersweet aftertaste. Nice bitter.
3.1 Fruity aroma with beautiful color. Smooth and easy to drink. However the taste is plain like wind.
2.6 Appearance: pours with a pretty big tan beige head, nice density, beer is a very clear amber to brown color, good head retainage Aroma: malty but very faint Taste: malt caramel, some hops on the finish but pretty tame, Palate: soft carbonation, light mouthfeel, tame bitter aftertaste Overall: not hoppy enough for a pale ale in my opinion, kind of simple and bland
3.2 2013/08/26 - Pours a burnt orange/amber colour with a frothy, off white head that reduces quickly, but leaves a surface film and a small lacing. Aroma is caramel, toasted malts, grapes and dough. Taste is slightly fruity up front with a toasted malt/caramel base and a sweet and slightly bitter finish. Mouthfeel is sticky with average carbonation and a drying finish. Good, but nothing overly special.
2.8 Pours light-amber, light hay aroma though smelling a little stale, lively carbonation and lasting lace, medium-bodied, light hop, muted malt, finishing crisp. Got to give it a low score as there is the wet cardboard taste and smell of a beer that has been oxidized.
3.8 A malt led scent that masked a light hop. A light amber appearance with a thin head. A slight fruity dry grape bitterness that fades to a malt hop backdrop. The flavors meld nicely and leave the palate refreshed with a light malt coating.
3.0 Bottle @ Home. Pours light golden with a white head. Aroma of malt, flowers. Flavor is malt, flowery hops, green apples. Medium body, soft carbonation. 050810
3.9 Some bitter tang aroma but still blanketed down by the yeasty, distinctly sam smiths flavor. Darker golden or lighter amber color with short lived off-white head. Tastes creamy out of fucking no where. Creamy with a bit of citrus in the background. This is way better than I had expected. Will drink again.
4.2 Excellent pale ale! Crisp flavor that intensifies in your mouth. The dark color mesmerizes your senses since you are expecting a light appearance. Is the first beer I taste that carries a USDA grade (organic). Reminds me somehow a MILF from the university!
3.3 Bottle pours amber copper orange clear with well retained small head and good lace. Aromas of fruity mineral esters over a light grainy toffee hint. Med light body, semi chewy, medium carbonation finishes light toffee, lightly dry and sulphate rounds out the light floral hop character and med bitterness
2.7 Bose is sweet corn, light butter, light citrus. Sweet malts. This one is quite boring and lackluster.
3.2 33cl bottle. Pours nice orange color with a fast diminishing head. Aroma is malty, hoppy, fruity. Aroma is sweet at the begining and ends in good bitterness, fruity. Nice one
3.2 Simple and enjoyable enough. It’s a little zesty and bitter. Nothing too exciting, but it is serviceable on a summer evening. *550ml bottle
3.3 Bottle. This is a brilliant bitter. Organic or not this a good malt forward bitter with good clean lines.
3.0 Clear orange yellow, small foamy white head fades. Floral malty sweet aroma. Lightly bitter, semi sweet malt taste, floral and herbal with a hint of fruity yeast. Light carbonation, light-medium bodied, lightly hopped. Mildly bitter finish. Reminiscent of a bland blonde, but better. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary)
3.9 A different animal from Samuel Smith. All of the great roundness in the profile, but there’s some unexpected notes of banana and clove like a weizen so this is a big surprise but the beer fits the Sam Smith profile despite this and ROCKS! This is my favorite brewery in the world and this is in their top 5. I’m done rating beers I’ve had over a thousand different beers in my life, this is one of the best. I may be done rating ’em.
3.0 Hazy golden-orange color with a white head. Aroma is full of bread, perfume and grass. Flavor is a bit more complex. I get some citrus and grass notes from the hops, as well as some earth, yeast, bread and toffee. Low bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
3.3 Bottle at home. Small nose, leather, earth. Dark amber clear color fine white head. Malty taste, notes of hay and small bitterness. :) Bolton Brew.
3.0 Very clear for an ale. Aroma is mostly toasted malt and butterscotch candy. The butterscotch flavor carries through, blending with grassy hops. Very smooth. There is a hint of lemon in the finish. And that classic English hard water, as well. Overall, I thought this was fine. Definitely not bad, but I don’t think I’ll be getting a craving for it again. Just didn’t have enough flavor for me.
3.0 fruity esters dominate the aroma with hints of floral hops and UK base malt. Head retention is not great, white foam at beginning. Malty background that shines in the finish. finish is medium dry. floral/earthy/light fruit hop flavor without much bitterness.
