3.9 13.12.2021. 0,55L Bottle. Vinmonopolet Oasen, Karmsund. Golden colour with white head. Very smooth and nice malty aromas and flavours. Very nice soft bitterness gives the beer a very smooty body. Rich.
3.6 2021/2022 bottle. Creamy white head stayed on a deep amber coloured body. Malt, bitter & spiced fruits aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & lively on the back. Malt, sweet berries, spiced fruits & orange peel tastes with a bitter peppery finish. Very tasty.
3.4 Bottle from House of Trembling Madness. Pours a clear amber with small off-white head, some retention, Standard. Aroma is a little tinny (aka pasteurised) but reasonable with malty caramel notes as well raisin and pear fruitiness. Taste is certainly more welcoming on a near winter night with caramel and toffee notes, raisins, dried fruits and spice, a little zesty bitterness. Very nice. Medium bodied, zingy carbonation. Far from perfect but nonetheless enjoyable.
3.1 Braunes Bier, malzig würzig in der Nase , so auch im Geschmack dazu leicht herb, kann man trinken
3.3 550ml Flasche. Helle Bernsteinfarbe, fester Schaum. Karamellduft. Milder Geschmack. Malz, Karamell. Tut nicht weh.

3.4 Caramel aroma, toffee. Classic british ale. Flavour is caramel, dried fruit, bread crust, yeast. Some sourdough. Nice ale

3.3 Pours dark orange, small head no resistance. Aroma bitter and hops, with malts in background. A bit unbalanced. Medium body and carbonation. Ok.
4.1 550ml bottle brewed in England at 6%. Clear bronze with a nice-sizedn good-duration head. Raisin and toffee aroma, a little thin. Moderate carbonation, although, as with most Samuel Smith's beers, a little gassy. Complex raisin and sultana notes, maybe some dried cranberry too, with a toffee malt and a splash of tangerine juice. Nicely dry finish. Has that Samuel Smith's authentic feel to it, with just a little of the stone coming through, and a sort of Christmas spice feel to it, although maybe not everyone's idea of a 'Winter ale' - a little light for the style, perhaps? Judged on its own merits, though, this is a dandy brew, managing to be complex without being all over the place.
3.2 33cl bottle. A clear amber beer with a off white head. Aroma of sweet caramelized malt, strong malt, ripe fruits. Taste of dark strong caramelized malt, red fruits, spices.
3.2 Bottle from Kvickly. Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and dried fruit. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish. 221120
3.4 Copenhagen 16/11 2020. 55 cl bottle from Meny, Østerfælled Torv, Kbh. Ø. Drawing of a guy with humongous mustache garnered with Winter greetings and a insistent shade of purple. Pours slightly unclear amber with a mid-sized white head. Settles as 0,3 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing. Aroma is moderately intense with a malty, sweet odor mingling with a light fruity scent. Caramel, hints of toffee, light toast. Red, sweet winter apples. Light sour streak. Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture. Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and lingers for a while. Finish is dry. Nicely balanced with a subtle nose and a more prominent flavor. Make me wanna grow a humongous mustache.
3.4 Pours an amber colour, big head. Aroma of caramel, bananas, apples, spices. Medium body, creamy texture, good carbonation. Bitter finish. Taste of caramel, apples, bananas and some spice or herb. has a bitter touch in the end. Good one!
3.2 Bottled 550ml. -from Goblet Zagreb. Shiny dark golden coloured, medium sized off-white head, malt and caramel in the nose. Sweet toasted malt, caramel, light grassy and earthy with some hops in the finish.
2.7 Not bad. Probably wouldn’t order it again, but would have one if it was free
3.4 Flasche 0,55l: Kupfer, rötlich braun, klar, kräftiger stabiler mittelporiger Schaum; sehr fruchtige + kräftig malzige Nase, kräftige Süße, kräftig Karamell, Vanille, würziger Honig, dunkle/eingelegte Früchte, leicht alkoholisch, leichte Hopfennoten, leichte Hefearomen; würziger + leicht fruchtiger Körper, kräftige würzige Süße, Malz, Malzzucker, dunkles Karamell, dunkle/getrocknete Früchte, cremig, kräftige Kohlensäure, kräftige Röstaromen, nussig, Kaffee, Muckefuck; angenehmer fruchtig-würziger Nachgang
3.6 I have picked up this bottle, at Wittich Getränk, Olten, during the last year. Drinking and savouring this beer, at home, at Epalinge, for the birthday of my niece, after the meal. It is a classical and light winter ale, watery, dry malt with a side of toffee and winter spicies, hop, could have more pronounced aromas, not bad and refreshing for the style. The color is copper and clear, average carbonation, thin and white foam.
3.5 05-03-2020; bottle; at home (bought Bier&Zo, Rotterdam, The Netherlands). The looks of the beer are nice. It is a nice copper colored beer. The beer has a nice haziness. On top of the beer there is a nice layer of frothy sightly off-white foam. Foam retention is short. A minimal drape is left after some time. All in all, it looks quite nice. I like it. The aroma of the beer is nice. It has a nice malty base. Bready with some touches of caramel. There is a nice touch of licorice, mild but clearly giving a touch. Hops are herbal and give a nice spicy touch. The aromas are not too strong. They remain light, but with some nice spicy and herbal touches to make it interesting. I like it. The taste of the beer is nice. The malts are sweet with a slight caramel bitterness. Hops are nice and bitter. With a slight savory touch of the malts and a slight sour note it is very well balanced. Nice. The palate of the beer is nice too. Medium body, smooth texture and nice medium-high carbonation. The finish of the beer is nice. Some of these licorice notes and quite a nice bitter hop flavor. Some warming alcohol is there in the back. All in all, I really like this beer. Not to heavy, but a great start for a night of Samuel Smiths beers.
3.1 Bottle - clear, darkish amber with thick creamy white head. Strong malty aroma - pleasant. Slight ting on tongue. Spicey tasting - with fruit and touch of caramel but not too sweet.

Solo per la tradizione che ha questa birra merita. Ideale per questa serata d’inverno. Molto molto buona c. Beer-shop.it 07.02.20
3.2 A fairly recent purchase at the nearest craft beer store, I have cooled off this 2019-2020, 30th Anniversary 550 ml bottle. I'm using my New Belgium snifter, the pour is a clear, blush-red body with a healthy head of snow white foam. I see a very active carbonation also. A decent scent, ripe fruit and baked bread I determine. And with a taste I get a bit of plum, malt, crackers and a touch of the hops. There is also an unusual vinous finish, not a plus or a negative, just a presence. Can't say I'll be running out to buy another but it is an okay brew.
3.6 Ar: Toast and pepper; a bit of pineapple; moss. Ap: Amber and crystal clear; medium-large off white head with good retention, settles into a medium cap of solid, fine foam. T: Grainy caramel; moss and black licorice; medium-low sweetness; bitterness is high; a lot of caramel and more black licorice on the finish, with an almost candy-sharp edge to the caramel; finish is toast and toffee. M: Medium body with high, smooth carbonation; finish is medium-dry. O: A rich, caramel-forward English ale; lots of malt and hops; decidedly British in flavor through the malt, hops, and yeast esters.
3.7 2019-2020 version L: -pours a clear copper with a medium to big, foamy, offwhite head -medium to high carbonation visible S: -syrupy,raisins,dates,nutty T: -Follows the nose + very spicy F: -medium body -medium carbonation O: A solid, slightly beefed-up English ESB. Though i was kinda missing the Typical English toffied malt base.
3.3 12 oz bottle 98-'99 Vintage. Found old review on paper. Pours amber with a small head. Aroma of malt, molasses, spice, and dried fruit. Taste of the same. This medium bodied brew hits the spot on a chilly night.
3.9 Aroma is spicy, fruit, plums, somewhat earthy. Color is amber-brown with some rising bubbles to a 3/4 inch off-white bubbly head with OK retention, leaving thick lacing. Taste is quite good, with the earthiness more predominate than in the aroma, but good contributions from the spicy and plum flavors as well. No bitterness. Rich bready malts that never become too sweet. A good interplay and moderate complexity to the flavors keeps it interesting and enjoyable. Excellent, in fact, considering the ABV. The finish is on the dry side, and the aftertaste of the different flavors lingers. Body is on the thin side of medium and smooth. Goes down very easily. Overall, an enjoyable winter seasonal that won't leave you completely looped (even with the 550ml bottle).
3.3 Copper coloured with a white head, aroma of molasses and dried fruit. Taste is sweetish, but with balancing floral hops. Decent.
3.7 Clear copper colour with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of sweet malts, raisins and dried apple. Hints of plums too. Floral hop bitterness in the finish. Great balance.
5.0 3,49€ Rudat - ggf. für Manfred.
