3.733cl bottle shared at the Leighton’s Back tasting @42nd Level, CW. Many thanks to Daniel for this one. It pours a clean golden color with a minimal white head. Aroma is tangy and danky. Taste is medium sweet and lightly tangy citric. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, very nice
3.2Bottle shared in London - thanks to Daniel. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head. Faded pine in the nose, some dry pale bread, ripe citrus, tangerine. Medium sweet flavor with grainy pale malts, lemon rind, tangerine. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with a little pine, melon, pale bread. So so overall.
3.4Bottle at Level 42, thanks to Daniel, 09/06/16.
Golden orange with a decent off white head.
Nose is caramel malt, straw, bitter orange, leafy hop notes.
Taste comprises leafy hops, tangerine, citric tinged straw, melon, soft bread.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close dashed with leafy hop bitterness.
Ok IPA.
2.8Bottle thanks on Dan. It pours clear gold with a thick white head. The aroma is fresh, funky, dirty, must, sulphur, grassy, herbal action and minerals. The taste is bitter - sweet, brown bread, pine, resin, stewed fruits, apricot, toffee and earth with a smooth finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. A bit sweet. Basic, but ok.
3.4Bottle share at 42nd Floor as ’Tap It IPA’. Clear pale orange, still, lightly sparkling, foamy tan head. Aroma is malty, citrussy, grains, musty, light floral notes. Body is a little frothy, soft carbonation. Taste is grassy, floral, chalky, light soap, light malts. A half-decent beer.
3.7Pours clear amber with low white head. Aroma of grapefruit, light resin, blood orange. Taste is mellow fruit sweet with a light bitter finish. Light and smooth body with soft carbonation.
2.3Pours a light copper color with a slight floral aroma. Taste is lightly bitter and floral. Minor grapefruit flavor with an easy bitterness throughout. Decent beer for the style but simple.
3.7It’s a pretty solid IPA. Nice alcohol and well balanced. A sweet body, hoppy finish. Pretty sessionable.
3.9Bomber from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Golden hued beer that has a white soap suds head. Light lacing. Aroma is classic west coast IPA with rich sweet caramel and fruit. Taste is, too, but with pale malts. I taste pineapples and grapefruit. A little spice and plenty of tropical fruit. Not very much citrus. Floral notes and melons late. It is just a bit earthy. Good stuff.
3.9Shared with Strykzone on Facebook chat. Pours copper with a white head. Really nice lacing. Nose is citrus and floral hops. . Medium in body and a resinous mouth feel . Flavor is citrus and floral over over a nice malt rich caramel malt backbone. The finish is dry and bitter. Tropical fruit appears as this warms. And as Dave points out so do melons. This is a classic west coast IPA. Tasty, Hoppy. Bitter. Good.
4.3Intense hoppy aromas of citrus, pine, grass and lemon peel. Some licorice in the back as well.
Medium bodied with a light carbonation ,smooth mouthfeel. On the palate it tastes similar to what it smells. Fresh and fruity with a nice bitter kick!
Bitter finish that stays around pretty long.
3.6Pretty big pine resin and citrus aroma and flavor. Fairly bitter too. Didn’t seem terribly fresh but still liked it - maybe get it from the source one day soon :)
3.90.355l bottle. Orange color with white head. Aroma is pine, citrus and elderflower. Taste is hoppy with toasted malt character. Overall it’s very good and balanced beer.
3.6Bomber. Pours a hazy copper orange with a beige head and aroma of resin, pine, and hops. Taste is bittersweet and hoppy, with pine, resin, citrus, and grapefruit notes into the dry, bitter finish.
3.7With Z, maybe the first beer of 2016 , surprisingly so, pours a deep rusty copper pour with a beige head. Nose is straight up bitter sweet citrus with pine and resin. Taste is bittersweet with deep pleasant citrus , followed by stong pine and resin. Finishes on the same tasting notes with a bitter dry moderately long ending. Nicely done ! Quaff Score 7 / 10
3.6Lively orange color with medium white head. Smell is citrus but not to strong. Citrus and hop aroma. Taste is light to medium bitter. Medium body with nice medium lasting aftertaste. Really refreshing.
4.3Soft, inviting aroma smelling of citrus and maple sugar. A nice deep amber color. Pleasingly bitter. Lively carbonation. Bitter long-lasting finish.
3.7Pours haze reddish orange, with creamy two fingers high head. Visually moderate carbonation.
Aroma with malty notes of bread, biscuit and various fruity esters, with notes of grapefruit, oranges, tangerine.
Flavor is firstly slightly malty, with bread and caramel like character, then become bitter, with hoppy/bitter dry finish. Hop bitterness is moderate high, but very well balanced with malty backbone. Fruity flavors are also present, with notes of grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine and oranges.
Body is moderate full, texture is sticky, smooth, carbonation moderate medium.
4.0Vom Fass im Brauhaus. Rotbraune Farbe, wenig cremiger Schaum. Tolles Hopfenaroma. Citrus, Harz, Aprikose. Geschmack kräftige Kräuter und Fruchtnoten. Aprikose, Malz, cremiges Mundgefühl. Langer Abgang. Klasse Bier.
3.3Clear orange with white head. Aromas of citrus, apricot, and floral hops. Flavors of citrus hops, honey and caramel. Lively carbonation and a clean bitter finish.
3.3Bomber. Golden amber pour, with a white head. Citrusy hops, pine, caramel malt, kind of sweet, bitterness, and bread. Ok, nothing special.
3.4Poured from the bomber into an English pint glass. Light amber with minimal cream colored head. Aroma is primarily light and citrusy but there seem to be some dark fruit notes lurking in the background. Flavor has some biscuity malt up front with some earthy and citrusy hops. Mouthfeel is slightly sticky and body is slightly heavy. Not a bad IPA, but I’m not seeing what all of the fuss is about? Wondering if I got an old bottle as there is no date, although it looks like other reviewers are having similar thoughts as of late, so perhaps a quality control issue?
3.7Bomber. Piney nose, with some citrus, quite fruity, and a bit of fumes. Light amber/orange color, fluffy thick head. Sweetish caramel initial, piney, peach, light tropical fruit (maybe mango), good bittering in finish. Medium heavy body. Fairly well balaced and very drinkable. Good.
3.4Bottle. Amber body with white head. Aroma is malts fruits citrus and pines. Taste is malts with herbs and hints of fruits and pines. Aftertaste is bitter with some malty backbone. Nice one but I think to old.
3.5This is fairly ubiquitous around San Luis Obispo, CA, which is where it comes from; not quite Firestone Walker "805" ubiquitous, but easy to find on tap handles and in restaurants all around town. I picked up a bottle to close my Friday night down, and thought it was fine, just fine. It’s fresh, clean and piney, with a terrific aroma of hops bouncing out of the glass and into your nose canal. Really nice balance, with light bittering, 7% alcohol and crisp malts. Outside of pine there’s a faint hint of lemon, but not grapefruit. It is indeed hard for a "single" IPA to stand out these days, as legion of raters before me may have mentioned, but you’d do a lot worse than to drink the go-to IPA for hundreds if not thousands of Central Coast beer doggies.
3.6Bottled. Pours clear pale amber with an average off-white head. Aroma of citrus, floral hops, peach and caramel notes. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. A very nice IPA indeed. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
3.712oz bottle drank from the bottle. Lots of different hop flavors that don't quite come together. Some fruity bitterness.
4.1Bottle camping in France. Hazy orange pour, thin white head. Aroma of fruity hops, quite floral, tropical fruits and some pine. Flavor is very sweet, fruity bitter hops and very smooth. Great balance, very well drinkable IPA.
