Sante Adairius Appreciation

Sante Adairius Appreciation

Appreciation is a barrel-aged farmhouse ale fermented with boysenberries and our resident funk. After several months in red wine barrels, it has taken on a mouth-watering acidity, a whiff of the barnyard, and stronger aromas and flavors attributed to the fruit. Appreciation’s ruby red color entices, welcoming another sip, another clink of glasses with friends, another moment of contentment and contemplation. With gratitude, we humbly offer our appreciation. Sante!

4.2 About a year old? Drank to mark the passing of a friend as a reminder to appreciate those and the time we have. He would have liked this. Ruddy, medium dark purple/magenta, with nice carb. Nose is funk, lacto yogurt, berries, becomes much fruitier and intriguing as it warms. Taste is tart with flavors following nose. Very balanced and enjoyable.

3.8 On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2016. This one has a raspberry red cloudy, kinda dark colored body with a small pinkish red hued head leaving lots of small dots. Smells really nice. Quite woody, sour rhubarb, mild acidic apple vinegar. Not extreme in any direction but still quite nice and red fruity. Tastes quite good also. It has a mild oily texture in the mouth and it’s just below average on the carbonation. Sweet berries, some white currants - lingering all the way. Quite a sharp and precise one this. Not bad at all. 14.05.2016

4.0 (Sample @ CBC 2016 Green Session, Copenhagen) Pours murky medium red with a pale pink head. Aroma is reddish berries, somewhat tart and raspberry-like, ample barnyard funk, a bit oaky and vinous, lactic acidity, jam. Flavour is quite tart, red berries/raspberry with something a little deeper like red grape, zippy lemon lacto, dusty funk, wood, a bit tannic, a little sweet hint of malt. Dry cleansing tart berry finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Quite nice, not my absolute favourite SARA, which is a high bar, but very drinkable.
