Our original award-winning Saranac beer is brewed in the German Lager tradition using Noble hops. We balance the hop bitterness with caramel malt sweetness, creating what we like to call a “round” beer.

2.8Sweet malty flavor with light hop finish. Nice hop fruitiness to match with malts. Actually very nice. Balanced, flavorful and easy to drink.
Redrank now a little bit later. Thin body. Stale.
2.9355ml bottle from Tasty Life, Xiamen as Adirondack Lager. Pours hazy amber with a dissipating white head. Aroma of malt and pine. Bittersweet finish.
4.7Great all around beer. Smooth taste and easy drink. Great beer for mixed crowds at a barbecue or tailgate.
2.4Bottle to English pint glass. Labelled Lager. Pours light amber, two finger head, no lacing, some retention. Aroma of caramel malts and grass. Taste is mostly sweet caramel with a hint of herbal bitterness, Medium light body, moderate carbonation, thin creamy mouth feel. Finishes with notes of caramel, herb and skunk. Not the best but not the worst either.
2.5another rather thin and lightly flavored beer from Saranac, but the body is crisp and the beer well balanced between carmel malt and spicy hops. it still comes off a little bland, but not bad."
3.2Bottle. Deep goldish-amber. Nice quickly disappearing head. Aroma is well balanced and taste is also well balanced.
2.0This beer reminds me of the half mad tirade that F. Murray Abraham does in the award laden film Amadeus. During the scene, if you are not familiar with the film he declares himself the patron saint of mediocrity. And henceforth this beer should stand as the benchmark of mediocrity. Double meh.
3.233 cl bottle, 5.5%, 2.10€. Amber color, almost clear, nice smooth creamy white head. Some caramel malts on the nose, quiet. Aroma is soft caramel malts, 5-cereals, cheese, chestnuts, earthy. Taste delicately bitter, balanced. Body is light, somewhat dusty. Short mineral bitter finish. Soft but biting carbonation. As expecting from a lager, nothing exciting.
3.1Bottle brought back by my neighbour from his hiking trip pours deck stain brown with a frothy one finger cap that disappears quicker than my cousin when the cheque comes to the table. A slightly confused brew: more amber than anything else (somehow someone below me calls this a pilsner which is odd). Woody malts, sugary on the tongue & not as crisp as you’d hope for.
2.8Bottle, as Adirondack Lager. From old notes. An amber lager. Slightly sweet, with caramel flavors, and a bit of hops. Nothing special. A little fake ad sugary tasting, but not terrible.
2.8Lager abbastanza anonima, dal gusto bilanciato ma già sentito. Buona birra da pizza.
2.7Pours a hazy pale amber color. Aroma is sweet caramel. Taste is a mild caramel.
3.012 oz bottle from a sampler pack from backlog notes 07/08. Pours a clear amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have bready malts, mild floral hops, light caramel, light fruitiness, mild to moderate bitterness with a slightly dry finish. Better than expected for a lager though now they are calling it an amber.
3.7Adirondack Lager pours a clean and clear amber color with a big foamy head. The big white head leaves delicate lace patters on the glass. In the nose, white bread and lightly toasted malts mix with honey and hops. In the mouth sweet caramel and toasty malts are balanced buy some hop bitterness that leads into a crisp refreshing finish. The carbonation is mellow with a medium body and a smooth mouth feel.
2.9Bottle pour. Clear amber in glass with quickly vanishing head. Nose is apple cider, straw and general malts. Medium body. Some corn sweetness. Ciderish mouthfeel. Lots of carbonation.
3.012oz bottle from Steve
Pours a nice coopery yellow better then most lagers
Much better taste then most lagers as well would drink again for sure
3.4Poured from 12oz bottle into a Sam Adams Glass. Part of a 6-pack sampler.
Labeled as Saranac Adirondack Lager.
Appearance: Very nice copper color that’s clear with some carbonation visible. Pours a small, slightly off-white, soapy head which disappeared quickly. no lacing.
Smell: Mild roasted malt, some slight hops. very mild
Taste: You get some mild malt, some sweetness mid way, ends with just enough hops to have a clean finish. Decent carbonation
Drinkability: Very easy drinking light to medium body, very smooth. perfect beer for a summer night.
Overall: Nothing off putting. Some good flavors. Better than the macro lagers.
3.1Reviewed from notes. Consumed May 16, 2012.
The appearance is a pale amber colored body and gave a one finger white head that appeared for a minute, fizzled and died. A fair amount of rapidly rising carbonation was seen all around. No lacing was left.
The smell has a light graininess with some background hops. Some malts came out.
The taste is grainy yet had a slight citrus going on - kinda weird, but that was what I noticed.
On the palate, its about a light and slightly creamy, somewhat sessionable.
Overall, this was an average German pilsener. I’d have probably have it again depending upon what else was served.
3.4A very drinkable summer lager. It has a really nice color, and a nice, clean aroma. A simple beer.
2.96/19/2011. From bottle. Cloudy amber color with a white head. Caramel aromas with malt and light fruit. Caramel flavors with a light hoppy finish.
2.8From the bottle . Hazy amber with white head. Better than the commercial mega brewery lagers. But not anything too exciting.
2.8Somewhat cloudy light amber beer with a thin white head that dissipates quickly into a surface film. Slightly pungent nose with hints of sour dough, orange, and light malt, but overall the aroma is slight. Flavor is a bit bolder and is dominated by a single note of medium citrus hops with little else. The body is pretty good with tight bubbles, and it’s smooth, but unfortunately it’s also boring and non-descript. Decent beer, but not one I would ever seek out again.
3.6Surprisingly decent vienna lager from Saranac. Mild, mellow, and malty with a medium body. Nice mouthfeel.
3.0Light amber pour, mild head and lacing. Aroma is semi malty and grainy. Taste is malted caramel and dry. Decent lager. Easy to drink, light.
2.7Hazy amber, short off-white head.
Woody/bark....caramel scent.
Taste is slightly tea-like, a little bitter-leaning fruit....
Watery...
But, not offensive, just a bit unexciting..
3.0Bottle pours a clear amber with a small off white head. Scent is caramel. Taste is sweet caramel with a touch of hops.
3.06/14/2011: Saranac Adirondack Lager... Aroma: Bready malt with a bit of floral hops, toffee, timid fruitiness. Appearance: Nice amber-copper color with a respectable beige-colored head. Flavor: Average, well-bleneded amalgamation of malt and hops without anything necessary jumping to the front; just a bit of fruity caramel malt, biscuit, and just a kiss of hoppiness; mild to moderate bitterness; finishes slightly dry. Palate: Overall: Much better than expected from a "lager" as this is more like a nearly full-flavored ale with just the right amount of hops for the style (more like an Amber Ale or weaker English Bitter).
12 fl. oz. bottle from Kroger in Harrison, Ohio. Rating #715 for this beer.
3.2bottle at this casino marked Adirondack Lager. medium amber, fizzy cream colored head. nose of cereal malts and faint toast. light flowers on the finish. body is medium, mealy and chewy at times.
2.7Bottle from Shawn. Thanks! Light amber pour with a white head. Nose is rather seltzery. Some grain, grass, and toasted bread. Mild yeast, soap, and a hint of floral hops. The flavor is really just fizzy and abrasive. Seltzer water, grain, floral hops, and grass. Light toast, soap, bread, and yeast.
2.1355mL with Eye of the Sponger custom label thanks to womencantsail via BlackIPA. For real, there is a SpongeBob on this official beer label. Pours a sparking clear amber with medium off white foam. Spotty lacing. Nose is honey, sweet cherry, sugar, more of a fake dish soap cherry. Taste is soapy, honey, wheat bread crust. Soapy and dry palate with a suddy hydrogen peroxide thing going on.
