3.8A bottle yesterday at the Cafe Bastille. Aroma: very yeasty, think circa 1978 homebrew! Appearance: very beautiful, densely opaque deep amber, one finger tan head. Palate: full-bodied and sticky, long and complex, predominantly malty finish; fizzy carbonation. Taste: medium bitter, malt loaf, boozy for its ABV, quite impressive.
3.1Proefglas van 33cl-fles. U: Troebel oranje-amber met een beige schuimkraag. G: Esters, bleekmout, perzik, karamel en sinaasappel. S: Moutzoet.
3.1Dorée-ambrée, bonne mousse. Nez sucré et un peu levuré. Gout typique belge, fruité sucré, levures, houblonné épicé. Classique
3.0From the bottle. Murky auburn color with a tall frothy head that gently subsides. Aroma has a strong note of cherry pop at the outset, though this fades drastically. Taste is bittersweet, full of bread and cherry cough drop. Warming. A bit medicinal. Body is medium. Moderate carbonation. Okay.
3.3Bottle 33 cl. Amber color. Aroma: fruit, toffee, malt, noble hops. Taste: malty, a bit fruity, caramel, wine, light hop bitterness, slightly unbalanced, a bit of pepper.
3.4Earlier Rating: 10/6/2018 Total Score: 3.2
3.2A colleague was told that I'm into beer and then said, "I was clearing out my parents house and I've got a load of Belgian beer in my car. You can have it." Turned out it was a load of our of date London Pride and Ringwood beers, plus this one Belgian. BB 01/2006. Vinous and vinegar aroma. Dark amber. Slightly opaque. A scant few white bubbles. Low key bitter sweet. Booze sourness in the finish. Marzipan and apple vinegar. Light bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long finish. Last had this beer a few years ago and I remember it being quite strong tasting. But this is all quite tones down. It's OK.
3.8Aroma: Medium-light rich, bready. Light toffee. Medium-light pear.
Appearance: Hazy, copper body. Small, off-white head. Low retention. Small to fine bubbles.
Mouthfeel: Medium-high carbonation. Medium-light body. Slight warming.
Flavour: Medium rich, malty, bready. Medium-light pear. Light licorice. Medium-light bitterness. Dry finish, pear.
Overall: Smooth, rich flavours.
330 ml bottle, poured. Belgian Triple. 2018/04/14

3.2Clear dark amber with a big white head. Aroma is malt, yeast and spices. Taste is malt, cinnamon and yeast.
3.033cl bb0/2020, BL sampler 2018 - where did my 12/2017 rating go? Short: slightly roasted, still needlessly coriander?-spiked Belgian Strong Red Ale that offers some dried orange peel and toast, unspecific dry caramel, faded potpourri and spices but, like Gold, and presumably Black (national tricolore oblige) remains cloying dull (serve chilled at Duvel temp) and inexpressive, the shadowside of Belgian brewers' Holy Grail of "balance", constantly composed with a burn.
3.3Bottle @ Richters w friends/CEO. Appearance: pours clear amber with good off-white soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: bread, caramel, alcohol, coriander and lots of fruit esters.
palette: medium to strong yeasty aroma, light sparkling carbonation, medium body, medium to notable sweetness, somewhat balanced by a medium bitterness, average duration and an oily texture. Overall: Nice refreshing yeasty/estery Belgian
Aromat owocowy i lekko przyprawowy. W smaku słodowe, lekko owocowe i przyprawowe.
3.5Butelka 0,33 l. Wypita 14.10.2017. Aromat mocno chlebowy, wyczuwalny również karmel. W smaku owocowo, intensywnie słodowo.
2.7Clear copper beer with big frothy beige head. Aroma is fruity, malty and caramel. Taste is quite boozy, sweet caramel, fruity. Medium body. Overall descent beer, but little bit too boozy for me.
1.0water with a Taste. Taste is about 0.2 seconds long. doesn't have an aftertaste. wouldn't recommend.
3.3F: medium size, almost white, poor retention.
C: dark amber, hazy.
A: malty, fruity, caramel, spicy, bit of toffee, yeasty.
T: malty, nutty, caramel, spicy, fruity, bit of alcohol, quite sweet but not bad, full body, medium carbonation, 33cl bottle from Cora Woluwe-Saint-Lambert in Brussels.
4.1Bottle. Cloudy amber. Small head. Aroma: nice esters on nose. Caramel. Medium body. The flavour is a celebration of esters including notes of prune, apple and pear. Delicious. Moderately boozy. Balancing bitterness. That’s fine. Very fine.
3.4Clear dark copper, brown tones lacing foam head. Little sweetness in aroma and very smooth drinking, tasting beer. Light caramel, light smokey, nice palate. Fine beer. (Utrecht 201703)
Illata elmarad a legtöbb belga sör aromájától. Keserű, savanykás, hosszú utóízzel.
3.3Bottle @cgarvieuk - The Xmas Tasting 2016. Pours copper/golden with a tan head. Nose is fruity and caramel. Taste is caramel, toffee, nutty, slightly sweet.
3.0Hazy deep red color with tan foam. Aromas sweet of malts, bubblegum with notes of dried fruits. (Hard to smell in busy kitchen) Palate, medium body with smooth texture with noticable carbonation, leaving boozy sweet finish. Taste is overwhelming boozy! folowed by bubblegum and candy taste and well boozy! Overall, bit too much booze for me could do with some taste and complexity.
