Sawdust City Lone Pine IPA

Sawdust City Lone Pine IPA

You approach the solitary windswept pine as it sits stoically upon its tiny perch of Canadian Shield and you wonder to yourself, “Why does this beautiful tree stand alone?” Then as you step closer, in awe of its majestic splendour, a branch blows down and slaps you right across your face. Sawdust City’s Lone Pine IPA is aggressively hopped and bursting with flavours of pine and citrus, loaded with mounds of hops and balanced with a blend of 4 different malts. Like that truculent tree, each glass is like a pine bow across your face.

3.6 0.473l bottle. Hazy orange body with a huge white head. Pine and grapefruit dominates both in the aroma and the taste with some tangerine and caramel. Nothing overly exciting, but OK IPA.
3.7 Can. Pours hazy amber, close to orange with white lacing. Pine and resin just like its name says. Some fruitiness going on too with orange and citrus. Caramelt malt. Bit the low side with carbonation. Good one for sure.
3.5 23/IV/18 - 1Pt. can from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte), shared @ home - canned: May/2/17 (2018-471) Clear orange beer, big creamy irregular yellowish head, unstable, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of orange peel, fruity, honey, bit oxidized, some tropical fruits and pineapple. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: little bitter, citrus, hoppy, some grapefruit, bit grassy, malty. Aftertaste: honey, bit oxidized, hoppy. Decent, especially considering the age...
3.4 Hazy orange color, off-white head. Aroma is resiny with orange rind and sweet malt background. Taste follows with bitter hop resin and astringent notes. Medium body and carbonation. Old school, a bit harsh.
3.7 31/3/2018. Growler taster at Beautiful Beers, Bury St Edmunds. Pours slightly hazy golden colour with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of hop, tropical and citrus fruit, grass, caramel and very light herb. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average carbonation. Subtle increasing bitterness in finish. Nice.
Hohe Drinkability. Lecker Ding!
3.6 Bought as part of a beer club membership. Hazy golden colour. Very hops forward, with a long bitter aftertaste.
3.7 Aroma: old school ipa generic style, hops and herbs. orange juice, pineapple, some malty backbone. Taste: good and slightly juicy, hoppy with grassy bitterness lingering in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel: crisp, medium body, healthy carbonation. Overall: nicely executed IPA.
4.0 Cítrica y herbal. Fresca y lupulada. Resinosa, amargota y seca. Muy buena!! LATA Canned 27/09/2017 BB 8 months.
4.1 Pine, and citrus fruit, no overly hoppy, great beer
3.3 ziołowa gorycz nieprzyjemna, żywiczne, ale kontrowersyjne, mało przyjazne, ociężałe ipa

3.0 Otra cerveza IPA canadiense, muy amarga, sin matices ni sabores especiales.
3.6 47,3cl Can @ 3er Tiempo Tienda de Cervezas, Santander, Spain Hazy golden colour with a thick white head. Aroma is hops, malt, citrus. Taste is malt, sweet, hops, citrus, peach. Medium body, average carbonation.
4.6 awesome IPA making its way up to the top of the list of my favorites
3.2 Canned, 473 ml at Svijet Piva. Shared with JFK10000. Pours cloudy golden, medium white head. Some hops, pine, citrus, malty, bitter finish, bit raw. Medium bodied.
4.1 Nice colour, great foam that lasted a long time. Heavy on the pine flavours but good balance with the citrus and bitterness.
2.7 On tap at Craft Room, Opatovina, Zagreb. Shared with lovely Anja. Hazy golden, medium off-white head. Low hops in aroma, also malts. Fruity, tangerine, citrus. Toasty malts. Light bitterness. Seems a bit old. Body is light, moderate carbonation, light finish. Boring. 635310=2.7
2.9 Tap at Craft Room. Misty golden, white head. Aroma... Drops of lemon splashed on brown sugar with a dash of caramel, intensive, relatively. Er. Obvious oxidation, sharper and not as awful as they get, at least until vague yeast shows up... But hey, at least it died in an original fashion. Taste-wise it's not as bad, soft lemon and peach ice tea on caramel. Medium bitterness, earthy touches. Obviously way off, but drinkable! Kinda. Until earthiness kicks in... I wish our importers wouldn't even try to import ancient stuff. Sawdust City, I'm sure that you did a great job originally, and I'll rerate ASAP!
3.2 On tap at Craft Room Zagreb. Orange/golden coloured, small white head, mild piney caramel nose. Sweet malty, light herbal, caramel and some piney notes with touch of citrus...but all of that seems to be not so fresh. Moderate bitterness in the finish. Pitty.
3.6 Tap at catraio, Porto. Cloudy orange. Thin to medium white head. Medium bitterness. Aroma and flavour is orange, hops, peach, passion fruit.
3.6 Bottle to stein Aroma of caramel, toasted malt, bread, biscuit, and cashew. Clear amber with a thin mottled, off white head. Taste is malt, grains, and toffee.
3.6 473ml can (Alus Celle, Riga) (7:4:7:4:14=3.6) Really fruity aroma, tons of dried pineapple, some dried papaya and peach. Hazy pale orange. Lots of dark caramel in the taste, fruity hops, as telegraphed by the aroma. Nice piney resiny bitterness too. Nice dry hop spiciness. Full palate, smoothish, coats the mouth, resins stick nicely. Kinda refreshing, and nicely drinkable at 6.5%, I’m drinking it as if it was a 5.0-5.2% (so with respect, but no feeling the need for restraint). Nice fresh IPA.
4.0 Very nice head and color. Nice lacing. Aroma of resin (OK, maybe its pine resin;) ), citrus notes, malty notes are very strong too. Taste is dry, pine flavor clearly detectable.
3.8 Can @ home. Lightly unclear orange color, medium to full sized white to off-white head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, hops. Don’t get much else. Taste malts, hops, hop bitter, light grapefruit, medium bitter, hop bitter. Medium body and carbonation.
3.8 Pours a small amount of frothy bubbly head and has a cloudy coppery appearance. Somewhat weak lacing. Nice aromas of floral and citrus hops as well as toasty malts with hints of nuts. Fairly bitter at first, pretty aggressive with hops, which includes earthy, floral and spiced hops, a fair amount for all. Bitterness and sweetness is well balanced. Some mild notes of caramel in the finish. A bit yeasty as well. Fairly astringent and warming sensations. Pretty lively carbonation. Really nice balance of hops and malts. Really impressive stuff.
3.8 Me viene a la mente "lost in the lonesome pines " de Jim Lauderdale y pienso que no sería naada grave perderme entre un sixpack de esta ipa...

Herbal, some cheesy, stone fruit nose, citrusy. Medium body, average to high carbonation, slick texture. Taste is moderate bitter, citrusy, little dry.
