Our brunette is a lady who stands up for herself, but who is tameable despite her powerful aromas. Her sweet scents of licorice and candied sugar combine well with a mouth full of fruit and spices. This fiery flame has a sharp character but is mild in dealing with her, a woman after our heart.
Her name refers to the powerful, red cannon of the citizens of Ghent which was used to effect in the fight against the Spaniards.

3.5Foggy deep brown, moderate ivory head. Nose: moderately intense fruity and spicy yeast, caramel and toast. Medium body. Taste: rather dry, initially malty and yeasty. Caramel, toast, spice, dried fruit, hop, some alcohol. The latter two are responsible for pronounced and somewhat harsh bitterness.
3.3Bottle. Dark brown color. Aroma: caramel, yeast, dried fruits, esters, a little phenols, perfume. Taste: sweetish, caramel, yeast, light spice.
3.5Bottle from a Carrefour in Bruges - thanks to Kenny! Pours hazy dark chestnut brown with a lasting, small, frothy, off-white, almost tan, head; little lacing. Inviting aroma of raisin, red grapes, plum & peach, caramel, marzipan, cookie dough, frangipane, 'carré confiture'. It tastes medium malty sweet, hints of plum & caramel, touch of almond, and light herbal bitter, some 'spicy licorice', very mildly toasted. Dryish, spicy, herbal hoppy finish, lingering caramel & red fruitiness. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Well executed, nice stuff.
3.5Fles 33cl thuis. Eigenzinnig. Bitterig, droog. Ook zoetig. (3-2011).------.
Amateuristische etiketering.
3.233 cl Bottle @ Saveur-Biere, Lille, France.
Dark brown colour with a thin white head.
Aroma is malt, caramel, toffee, yeast, spices.
Taste follows the aroma.
Medium body, average carbonation.
4.1Bouteille 33cl
Mousse : Chapeau beige compacte
Couleur : Robe marron rougeoyante, transparence marron clair
3.5Great taste, not much foam, very pleasant, slightly high grade. ABC abc abc
3.3Sample from 33 cl bottle. Clear dark amber colour with a thin white head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, yeasts, fruits. Taste is sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes sweet with caramel malts and fruits.

2.5een roodbruine belse dubbel
3.4Bottle from somewhere in Belgium. Dark brown colour lasting beige head. aroma of an abbey dubbel malty sweet. Drinkable sweetish malty beer. Rather decent i thought. Sweet malt but ok. Malt loaf. Fine.
3.6Acheter chez vanuxeem à ploegsteert.
Bouteille de 33cl.
Couleur Brown beau reflet acajou
Correct
3.6Good Dubbel. Somewhat less sweet than usual. Good carbonisation. Balanced. Not overly caramel-like.
3.2From tap in Dulle Griet, Gent.
Aroma of caramel, roast malts, dried fruits.
Pours dark brown reddish with a fading head.
Taste of caramel, fruits, rather sweet.
3.50.33l bottle a Braai Tapperij de Mug. This one pours a deep a dark amber red mild cloudy looking body. On the top there’s a big lasting and mildly lacing beige head. Lots of sweet caramelly dark sugars. I get tones of red dark fruits, some red sweet apple. Dark candied sugars and a little Belgian. Smells nice. Tastes really good actually. The first thing I get is vanilla and there’s lots of sweet nice caramel in here. It has a mild oily texture in the mouth and it’s just about average on the carbonation. Smooth in the taste. Ends with more dark dried berries and fruits. Long burp. Really easy to drink and easy to like - especially after a long day traveling. 07.03.2017
2.933cl-fles bij broer Niels thuis. U: Wazig donkerbruin met robijnrode gloed met dunne beige schuimkraag.
2.9Cola pour with quickly dissipating head. Aroma: sweet malts with very pronounced yeast character (typical Scheldebrouwerij signature), corn starch, light cherry, light boozy note. Taste: very light caramel malts with first sips, gets better. Caramel malts, cola, light grassy note. Light to medium bitterness. Finish again has cola taste, some malts in the back.
3.3Quady caramel, dried fruit, dry wood impact. Light sweetness with some bitternerness. Decent but bit boring
3.3Dark brown double, beige head. Tasts of caramel, dried prunes, sweet after taste, convenient bitters.
A decent Double.
3.4Bouteille de 33cl. Couleur cola, mousse moyenne, tenue moyenne.

3.5F: big, creamy, long lasting, pale brown.
C: dark brown, opaque.
A: malt, dates, candy, hint of dark chocolate, molasses, banana, gin.
