3.5 Bottle @ home. Dark brown colour, beige foam. Rather roasty bock with nice caramel and bready notes.
3.7 Bottle at home. A brown, red coloer, good aroma. Sweet, like a bok should be, but also a nice bitterness in the finish.
3.0 Bottle from Dranken Vandewoude and drunk at home. Dark brown beer lasting tan head. Lacks a little carbonation. Some light milk chocolate. It’s actually quite light overall. Not much hop. Ok if a luttle light.
3.8 Donker roodbruin bier met matig schuim. Aroma van caramel en donker fruit. Smaak is zoet en fruitig. Jammer dat de smaak snel wegebt
3.2 Aroma sweet, taste sweet, caramel and roasty, some bitterness. aftertaste underwhelming, a bit boring.
3.1 Deep ruby-brown pour with beige head. Sweet aroma of caramel, raisin, roasted malts. Taste is accordingly medium sweet, but a little flat after the promising aroma. Bit low on carbo. Was a renewed introduction for me, after years, but not the best bockbeer I had...
3.2 Bottle at home. Dark mahogany with big fluffy beige head. Lots of figs and brown sugar, dry dusty cocoa, raisins, cardboard, light ashy and burnt toast, some plums, light alcohol, old dusty chocolate cakes. Under medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium bodied with a bit dry dusty feel.
3.3 Bottle, 33cL. Home. A sparkling brown mahogany clear beer with a big off-white foamy head ; average retention. Roast, caramel, dried fruits, raisin. Light sweet, light dry bitter refreshing. Light to medium body, average texture, light oily, average carbonation, sweet dry finish. Overall, enjoyable.
3.3 Pours dark brown with light beige head. Aroma is raisins, sweet caramel, malts, chokeberry, light plum. Taste is light, burnt caramel, raisins, some plum, cinnamon, a bit watery, cream. Nice beer!
3.5 F: big, brownish, not very good retention. C: dark brown, opaque. A: malt, raisins, dark fruits, brown sugar, caramel. T: malt, prunes, candy, molasses, raisins, gin alcohol, medium full body, good carbonation, tasty and good balanced, 330ml bottle from Spar in Westkapelle in Netherland.
3.1 Sample. Red/brown with medium head. Dough, caramel, toffee, brown cake with burned bottom with strong dried raisin and delicate dried plums. Medium strong carbonation with oily texture. Quite watery overall. Taste is medium sweet, lots of fruits and spices. Bitterness is delicate but balance well the sweet fruits. A bit of coca-cola there too. OK.
Etwas unterm Durchschnitt.
2.3 Bottle bought in the Netherlands. The beer has got a deep dark brown colour with a small head and medium body. Aroma of malt and barley. Taste of malt, barley, fruits, caramel and wild animals. Dusty finish. Not a good one.
3.3 Lovely looking red brown beer. Bready yeasty aroma, not as sweet as some dunkler bocks, there is a slightly bitter finish.
3.0 Fles, thuis. Zoet, droog, stroef, beetje zuur, gist. Herfstblaadjes en kastanjes. Blijft ’n bok. Heb er geen liefde voor. Backlog from 2015/08/27.
3.5 Bottle from Dranken Verheyen in Poppel. The beer is dark amber brown colored and has a large and stable cream colored head, with nice carbonation. The aroma is malty, slightly roasted and caramel. In the background hints of cacao and a little alcohol. The taste is full bodied with a nice sweetness of malts and caramel and ends light bitter with coffee and cacao notes. The finish is hoppy and light bitter. Not completely a bock, but the beer is nice.
2.1 Dark brown with a really hideous head, like soap in water. Caramel aroma. Taste is pretty saccharine. Not good.
3.6 On tap at PINT Bokbierfestival 2015. Clear, dark red with a creamy, tan head. Sweetish-malty aroma of raisins, prunes and brown sugar. Sweetish-malty taste of raisins, prunes and brown sugar. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!
3.4 Fles 33cl. Kleur bruin rood metmooie schuine offwhite schuimkraag. Geur is kruidig. Smaak is redelijk bitter. Prikkelend . tonen van koffie
3.1 33cl bottle with friends. Pours a slight hazy brown/reddish colour with a decent off-white head. Aroma’s of dried fruits, caramel, coffee. Taste has a nice bitterness to it with a slight sweetness with notes caramel, espresso-like coffee, dried fruits. Texture is oily with average carbonation.
3.0 10/15/2006 1:29:07 PM Bottle at home. Brown beer with fast-rising head. Sweet, bit watery. Taste a bit of bread, berries and caramel. Fine enough.
3.9 From the bottle, 8°C. very good appearance: clear dark with steady foamy head. In the nose I found malt, caramel, dark fruit. On the tongue it was bitter, light sweet with hints of pear sirop and coffee. Very good for a bok beer.
