3.3 Bottle poured to pint glass cold beer Appearance: Light yellow, head, a lot of lacing Aroma: scent smell of malt, slight fruity smell nothing else Taste: still ok Mouth feel: carbonated Overall: good beer nothing special just got it to taste it
3.3 Pours pale gold with a white head. Aroma is earthy, grainy and light citrus. Taste is light bitters with a touch of sweetness. Light bodied, easy to drink and refreshing.
3.0 Nice aroma of fresh bread, and malt. Deep orange amber color with a tan head that quickly fades. Rich sweet malt up front. Some caramel, and a slight toffee note follows initial sweetness. Dry bitterness next. Slightly watery mouth feel. Finish is mostly balanced, with a slight peppery bitterness right at the end. Not bad.
2.6 Not especially great rather flat and uninteresting. Could do with more malt flavour..
2.9 12 oz. bottle pours a sparkly brownish gold color with average white head and a bit of lacing. Aroma has grains and malts. Flavor is bready and grassy. Taste is slightly bitter, with light to medium body, average carbonation, and a crisp mouthfeel. I expected more hops in a pale ale. Nothing bad here, but nothing memorable either.
3.0 Bottle. Aroma is mild malt with resinous hops and some basement aroma. Appearance is clear golden brown with nice sparkle, 2 finger-width head with fair retention and fair lacing. Taste is light sweet which is dominated by light bitter. Palate is light bodied with thin texture with average carbonation and bitter-dominant finish. Overall, a pretty mild offering that looks nice and is more bitter than sweet.
3.0 an average pale ale. strong pale malts dominate with really no other flavors. maybe a hint of hopps. bitter finish. smells malty and pours deep copper with a thin white head. had out of a bottle at home..average.
2.7 Bottle as part of a Schlafly sampler pack. I enjoyed their pumpkin ale so much, I wanted to try some others by them. Pours a standard amber color with a half inch of white head that recedes quickly. Loose, spotty lacing on the glass. Thin aroma of grains. Flavors of bread, subtle malty caramel. Not much else. Medium carbonation and medium body. This isn’t a bad tasting beer, but very boring and forgettable. I certainly hope the oatmeal stout and APA in this pack are better than this. Otherwise, I’ll be sticking to their pumpkin ale as the only recurring purchase of Schlafly’s offerings.
1.9 Not good, expected better from shlafly. Might want to drink something better before having this one. Maybe its the style, not my fav
3.0 Single bottle from Binnys. Pours yellow / little hazy. Nose and initial taste a little hoppy but not outstanding. Good; not great.
3.2 March madness 2015. The pale ale is pale. It is as it is supposed to be, a little middle of the road. So it’s easily drinkable but it’s not all that interesting. Buttery malt texture saves it.
3.1 March Madness 2015 - Budsweiser on steroid hops?!? A light beer that tries too hard.
2.9 12 ounce bottle from State Line. Pours a clear amber with a large foamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of toasted malt, nuts, floral hops. The taste is tropical hops, caramel malt. Thin-medium bodied.
2.8 Amber colored mild flavor. Good fall beer.............................................
3.0 On tap at the at louis airport during a layover. Pours burnt orange w minimal head nose is pretty subtle, some citrus hop, some malt- a little muddled. Taste is even more muddled, a bit stale. Missing the brightness the flavor seems to pretend used to be there. Overall blah but not offensive by any means
2.9 Dull is a word to describe this one. Aroma is almost skunky malt with notes of brand flakes. Taste is sort of brand flaky and just insipid. Finish is platitudinous. Overall, I’d characterize this beer as pedestrian. This seems like an attempt at a "Fat Tire" like brew but not even as good...
2.1 ペールエール 変な酸っぱさがある ポップの香りない まずい
3.7 это пиво очень вкусно. я бы, конечно, рекомендую его всем. пожалуйста, обратитесь его. очень хорошо!
2.6 Not the best pale ale but it is serviceable in a pinch. Maybe one of my least favorite schlafly.
3.3 355ml bottle. Weird that they have 2 pale ales in their regular lineup.Pours a honeylike golden amber, larger white head. Aroma is fruity and spicy, not much maltiness. Flavor is spicy, toasted malt, quite dry, lingering pretzel characteristic. Smooth and sessionable.
3.0 Pours a clear, reddish amber with a medium beige head. A more mild aroma contains caramel, nuts, grassy hops, and biscuit. The taste has a bit of bitterness to it. More hops come out here with some grassiness complimented with lemon. Malty notes of caramel and nuts serve more as undertones. The aftertaste is a short, sharp lemon. Light to medium in body, average in carbonation, and a bit of a more slick texture. Nothing really memorable about this one.
2.5 Large sample pour. Aroma of wet socks and dogs, mild malt... Some hops. Flavor comes through much nicer with some nicer hop notes. Lighter body and easy drinking..
2.6 A golden orange ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with light butterscotch, nutty notes, light honey notes, OK. In mouth, a sweet caramel malt with light nutty notes, oily mouth feel, old and oxidized.
3.1 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a mildly hazy copper color. The head is a finger high, barely off-white in shade. It both retains acceptably and leaves behind a ring of lacing as it fades. S: Simplistic and mild, perhaps befitting its ABV. The primary aromatic notes are earthy hops and toffee-laden malts - like I said, simple. This seems to have a bit more brown sugar and chocolate than I’m used to from the style, but the lack of distinct fruit esters (like apricot) are a letdown. T: The malt backbone is a bit more defined than I’m used to from more mediocre examples of the style: I can taste faint hints of chocolate and brown sugar. Luckily, it’s not really sweeter than those aforementioned mediocre examples. It finishes slightly grapey, though I could still use a bit more fruit flavor. Not bad, though - it does seem to have hints of depth. M: Pleasantly crisp and light, with a semi-dry finish. The malts don’t choke the palate down, thankfully. Typical of the style, carbonation is on the lower side. O: This style really encapsulates averageness in the craft beer realm: rarely have I had a crappy example of the style, but I don’t think I’ve ever fallen in love with an example. And this fits into that zeitgeist perfectly. Not bad, not great, worth drinking again, but not really worth buying 6-packs of.
3.2 Malty. Perfectly average beer. Slight citrus. Dry. Medium carbonation. Good go to beer.
3.5 On tap at Devote Iowa City. Sparkling orange with a tiny white head. Aroma of clean rich malt and a hint if hop spice. Flavours of rich malt, but extremely smooth. Medium body that is extremely refreshing. Finish is slightly sweet.
2.2 Pours a light amber with a thick white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is all skunk. Taste is high on carbonation and low on good taste. Once again, I’ve found another Schlafly beer I don’t like. Taste is heavy on that english barley and malt. Not good.
3.8 Slightly floral aroma. Nice hop bite. Good balance. Very drinkable. Would go well with good with food.
3.1 Clear copper color with white head, a little lacing. Mild malt and hops aroma. Medium bodied and easy drinking. Okay, for a light-ish beer.
2.9 Look: pours dark copper color. Off white head. Head fades quickly. Smell: malt. Slight bitterness. Caramel. Taste: malt. Slight bitter flavor. Toffee. Feel: very dry. Leaves a light film on the mouth. Overall: ok just not my type of beer. Not enough us hops for me. First drank: lake if the ozarks 8/5/24
