3.8 Bottle. Pours a hazy deep amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice dark fruit with sweet grains, candied sugar, Belgian yeast and some pear underlying. Flavor has a nice peace and sweet grain note up front with growing candied sugar and Belgian yeast.
3.6 Wow. A moderate to intense fig and dried fruit character. Lots of alcohol warning and booze but not too hot. Overall very good
3.3 Bottle. Hazy gold with a big off white head. Aroma is green apple and caramel. Taste adds candi sugar and butterscotch. Very sweet but tasty. Sticky palate and long finish. Not bad.
2.8 My Bottom Line: Bready malts and quirky fruitiness make way for alcohol burn in this sweet and simple Quadrupel. Further Personal Perceptions: -A sheet of foam tops the dark amber. -Mild tomato allusions disappoint. -Effervescence feels soft due to the relatively high level of residual sugars. -Specialty malts could have delivered more nuances. Bottle.
3.5 Pours a dark amber with an off white head and smells very malty with some spice to it, overall it taste a lot like wine there is a lot of fruit on this beer, its very good, the booze is kinda well concealed.
(Rating #5433)
3.8 Pours a dark amber, with a frothy head. Smells of toffee and Carmel and booze. Hops seem lost at least to me, tastes of caramel, fig, and more booze . Nice on a winters night.

3.5 750mL from AdamJackson, 2012 i believe was the date, still a nice big quad with tons of dark fruits, figs too, lots of sediment and the hops are all gone which is fine.. a nice sipper by the fireplace.
4.0 A: Amber Hue, Passes Some Light, White Head Ring, Some Lacing S: Bourbon, Dark Fruit, Raisins T: Dark Fruit, Raisins, Bourbon M: Average Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Semi Sweet, Mildly Boozy Overall, a pretty nice quad, may mellow out with some age.
3.5 Aroma:cherry and dark fruit... Appearance:Clear redish-amber,good beige head... Flavor:Spicy,yeast,cherry,dark fruit...
3.7 Pours amber with low head, aroma is sweet dark fruits, taste is sweet with a light bitter finish. Hides the booze well
3.6 big ass bottle chad brought back from MO for me, murky orangish cour with off white head, fruit and alcohol arouma, tasts is a strong bitter mix of fruits, can definatly taste the 12%, well put together
3.3 750 mL Bottle. Pours a cloudy medium brown color with a big lively off-white head. Raisins, caramel, wood, malty, dark fruit aromas. Strong, malty, brown sugar, alcohol flavors. I thought I remembered liking this one better in the past. But it tastes better as you let it warm up a little bit.
3.6 No bottling information. Appearance: The body is a murky amber to copper with a dense but short tan head. I stored this on it’s side so I’m guessing this should actually be clear. Aroma: The aroma is mild with crackers, brown sugar, apple cider and peppery spice. Complex, but restrained. Smells decent though. Taste: The intro is very bready with a saltine crackers flavor. The flavor gets more intense with brown sugar and apple cider coming through pretty strong by the finish with only hints of alcohol. The finish lingers of a light spice that I find hard to describe, perhaps cinnamon and nutmeg? It’s subtle though and a mild alcohol presence lingers, warming my throat. Palate: Full-bodied with semi-sharp carbonation, definitely pricks my tongue a bit. Overall: This is a very solid quad, spicy, fruity and malty, complex and drinkable especially at 12%. This is drinkable, but I’m glad I’m splitting a bottle.
3.3 750 ml from State Line. Pours hazy bright coppery orange with frothy off-white head. Nose is funky, yeasty, fruity, with notes of cherry, prune, and cobwebby malts, Tastes very citric and floral, with mid-palate hops, some bitter tartness, cherry, heat, and lactic funkiness in the finish. Overall comes off a bit bitter for my tastes.
3.9 750 mL bottle with some age on it. Pours a dark copper color with a thin fizzy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of dry fruits, nuts, spice. The taste is bread, spice, dates, dark fruits, toffee. Medium bodied, highly carbonated, warming alcohol. Nice beer.
2.7 First, let me say that foam leaked from the bottle the second the cap was popped, and it wouldn’t stop until we intervened and removed some of the beer from the bottle. On top of the large tan head that sits on top of the beer, the color is an opaque and cloudy copper with quite a bit of medium- to large-grain sediment in the bottom of the glass. The aroma is mostly boozy with hints of caramel malts and sour fruit, which doesn’t really hit the mark for being appealing, and the taste is quite sour, slightly sweet, and slight bitter, which almost makes up for how the nose doesn’t quite make you want to drink. Furthermore, the palate combines a full body, boozy and astringent finish, lively carbonation, and a thin texture, which leaves me a little confused and not that pleased.
1.7 Aroma does not feature typical Belgian yeast esters. Highly sweet aroma: sugar, candi sugar, and molasses. The beer is almost too sweet and doesn't feature any Belgian flavor profile that is true to a Belgian dark strong ale.
3.3 Not a classic quad, but a perfectly decent beer. Glowingly red-brown color, no head (tap). The usual raisin-plum notes of a quad are present but buried under a surprising sour note - not sure if it is by design, or an infected tap line...decent either way.
2.7 Belgian spices. but not super strong. dark fruit. not a huge fan of the style and this one is a slight stetp below st. B.
3.5 On tap at Schlafly Tap Room. Comes a golden orange with a nice biege head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and fruit. Taste is malt, dark fruits, caramel, and a touch of hops. Hides the alcohol well. Nice sipper.
3.4 Bottle @ Steve’s Foco., courtesy of jcnielsen. Thanks! Pours a hazy orangish brown appearance with a tan head. Rich caramel, candy sugar, raisin, somewhat oxidized aroma. Well carbonated. Grape drank, plum, raisin, rich candy sugar, caramel, bready flavor. Not bad but it has oxidized some.
3.9 Pours murky dark amber with big frothy head, at least for me. Not the most pleasing aroma, but a very complex flavor. Deep and earthy, with a bit of fruity lightness. Can’t wait to try the bourbon barrel variety!
4.0 Super-dry, with pit fruits and warming malts. Long on the palate, totally in balance, and the freshness of the flavors came to mind as I carefully sipped at this one. Not bright, hi-liter esters awash in alcohol, but fresh, well-crafted, and carefully-constructed. Perfect precursor to a rich Thanksgiving dinner. I have high standards for American versions of Belgian styles, but this quad is distinctly American without losing any of the careworn aspects of the style that make it so special. Really well done.
4.6 Pours murky brown with a super tiny brown fizz. Smells like plum with a touch of fig. Taste is big fruity with a touch of alcohol that warms. Full-bodied with a slick texture and fizzy mouth-carbonation, Schlafly Quadrupel finishes with a rum soaked raisins kick.
3.5 Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy darker amber color with a smallish white head. A little bit of sweetness to the nose with a strong fruity undertone. Definite sweet and fruity notes to the taste, and is remarkably smooth. [Also, I want to toast this beer extra hard since this is my 1000th rating!]
3.7 Pours out a deep amber color, off white head. Aroma is kind of fruity. Tastes is, again fruity with a light bitterness. It’s pretty effervescent. Overall fairly sweet. A light, but definite alcohol presence. Not bad, not amazing.
